Challenge: The Perfect Ten (v2.0)

Words cascade
collide
a cacophony of emotion
running wild
free...

~ ~ ~

Words on paper
igniting body and mind
setting us afire...

Mazda car key
snicks open like switchblade.

Cuts through traffic?

Icingsugar said
ten words or shorter.

Shouldn't punishment
be reciprocal?

Stop. A head.
No shoulder.
Slow children
playing...no, swimming.

Can we find that perfect ten? A short line or two that says more than any brick sized novel on the bookshelf?

I once saw this written on the wall of a restroom stall in a highway rest stop and wrote it down:

If pigs could fly
If cows could sing
If this, if that, if everything
That I imagine
Were to be
I'd still imagine endlessly

I didn't think much of it as poetry, but it sure seemed to say a lot.
