I used to waste a lot of food, prepandemic cause id buy enough veggies for the whole week. Then we would end up eating out with friends or on the go somewhere. Now i only buy for like 5 days and have so much less waste. I just keep some frozen vegetables in the freezer or i go grocery shopping more often if we dont end up going out.
Btw, i sent you my tofu "recipe". Sorry its not a real recipe.
I do not claim to be a careful shopper but I keep frozen onions, green veg and herbs, which saves wastage with fresh.
Energywise, slow cookers consume far less than conventional ovens for things like stews and casseroles. You can also use cheaper cuts of meat that are positively better than tenderer ones if cooked low and slow - with a richer flavour.
Not today. I'm currently roasting a big cut of pork and will serve it with mini roast potatoes.
