Cardinal Care
Blaze had been working at Cardinal Care for the previous two years. He had been lucky enough that with a few connections, he had managed to get the job once he had completed his studies along with his Master's Degree in Physical Therapy. From there he had gone into specialize in being a Sports Certified Specialist.
Truthfully, he hated titles, his focus was on helping people to recover what had been lost. From strokes to heart attacks, to accidents in work or even re-learning what had once been an easy task, everyone came into Cardinal Care with their own story, and it was Blaze's job, not to mention his passion to ensure that those who left his care were better off for it.
Did it hurt that he usually was able to touch people every day, especially when they were of the female 'variety'? of course not, but Blaze was VERY careful with his exploits. A touch too far here, a lingering caress there, no one really ever said anything, and besides, he was a VERY good physical therapist, so it wasn't really like people wanted to risk that.
He had just finished with one of his clients, Julian had been in a nasty automobile accident and both Blaze and he had spent the last three months working to get the man the ability to walk. At first even a step had seemed like it would be too much, but over time... well, Blaze had worked with him and a step turned into two, two turned into four and Julian was well on his way towards his own recovery.
As Blaze came out of the training room though Holly called him over to the central desk. Holly was the Supervisor of Cardinal Care, and was in charge of overseeing the various trainers as well as their clients were faring.
" Hey there Blaze, Shinoka has checked out of Cardinal Care, thanks to all your efforts."
Holly knew Shinoka had been with Cardinal Care for a year, ever since she had suffered a rare cardiovascular defect with her heart. Blaze had taken charge and had seen to it that the shy Japanese woman had built herself up even stronger, though Holly didn't know of course just how 'hands on' Blaze had been with her. Blaze nodded as Holly handed him a card which was enfolded into an envelope.
" Shinoka left that for you, since you're done with Julian, take a break, and when you come back I have a new client for you!"
Holly had a folder with a medical file, so Blaze smirked slightly but nodded and taking the card held it up in the air in a mock salute.
" Yes ma'am. I will be back in twenty."
With that he headed off into the side break room, though went through into one of the 'Quiet Rooms'. Working with people was fantastic, but there were times when things were overwhelming, where they could feel like throwing themselves against a wall. The Quiet rooms were soundproofed rooms which allowed people to shut outside noises out and re-center themselves so to speak. Blaze smiled at the way Shinoka had written his name, the flowing calligraphic style of writing wasn't lost on him.
Opening up the card though there was a small 'package' of sorts which was inside the card, it was rectangular in shape and had been tied with a light silvery knot along with a small attached card which said 'Open last'. He decided to humor her, and so turned his attention to the writing of the card itself.
To Blaze...
Thank you for everything you have done to help me. I would not be who I am without your help.
I will never forget our times together, but I must return home to my family. I hope that you will find your own way, and will find your own happiness.
Never forgotten,
Shinoka.
Blaze smiled softly, though he had to admit he would miss the smaller Japanese woman, they came and went, no one stayed so to speak, though as each one went, they took a small part of his heart with them. He turned his attention to the package though and reverently unwrapping it, he opened it up to find a few pictures of Shinoka which clearly were meant only for him. The first picture had her kneeling on a bed looking about as shy as ever towards the camera. The second was still in a very suggestive outfit and certainly made him softly groan in appreciation.
Finally though after appreciating them the third and final photo was a developed one from their final time together, and Blaze would hold onto forever. He smiled though took a few minutes to make sure to tuck things away. He certainly didn't need anyone knowing about his secrets or 'sessions' outside of Cardinal Care with Shinoka or anyone else really. For now he made sure to tuck them into his bag in his locker before he headed out to see just who his newest client was. Every day in each way way a new challenge. At least that's how Blaze approached things!
