I'm posting this thread to officially kick off the "2025 Literotica Geek Pride Story Event”. Laurel will be creating the Event Page shortly - submissions can be sent in between May 15th and May 24th, with a Sunday May 25th Go Live Date. That's MONTHS AWAY. Plenty of time for you to write something!

This thread is to SUPPORT and ENCOURAGE authors to enter stories in the 2025 Literotica Geek Pride Story Event. If you have questions, post them here and someone will answer. It might be me, it might be someone else here but don't be shy. Ask.

Here on Literotica, in recognition of Geek Pride Day, one of our fellow writers, PuckIt, organized the inaugural Literotica Geek Pride Day Story Event on May 25th, 2018. This was such a popular event with writers and readers last year that we ran it again in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024, and we’re enthusiastically running it again for 2025 - our 8th year for this event!

Yours truly has volunteered once again to kick the Geek Day Event off and at least try and answer any questions. (Although I may plead for help if the answers to the questions are beyond me).

The 25th of May was first organized as Geek Pride Day in 2006 by the Spanish blogger Germán Martínez (known online as Señor Buebo). Since then, Geek Pride Day has slowly gained international recognition (in certain Geek circles) and we on Literotica want to do our bit to continue to celebrate Geek Pride.

So let your freak flag fly! Write a story for Literotica’s 2025 Geek Pride Day Story Event.

Let the Force guide your fingers. Start writing! This is an OPEN TO ANYONE event - it's not “by invitation only." This isn’t a competition. There’s no placing. There’s no prizes. This is for the sheer joy of writing alongside a bunch of other Literotica writers. This is for anyone on Literotica who would like to try it out. You don't have to have written anything before to write for this event. First time writers and veteran Literoticans alike are all invited and encouraged to participate. If you're new here and you've been thinking about writing for a competition, but you're nervous about jumping in, write something for Geek Pride as a trial run. If you've been around for a while, hey, don't wait for me to beg, plead, or kick your ass. Get those fingers moving and come up with something. And if you know someone else who might be interested in writing something for this event, reach out and ask them.

Me? I have an idea for my Geek Pride story for 2025! Now I just have to write it!

The Rules are actually awesomely simple
1. Have a story idea with some kind of geeky theme. Sci-Fi or Fantasy is the most likely category, but if you want to get geeky in any other category, you go for it! You can write a Geek story for ANY category, and honestly, the more categories, the better. Let's broaden the appeal of Geek Pride!!!!!
2. Any geeky subject, any category, any length you like. But please, only stand-alone stories (if you want to clarify that, just ask right here in this Official Support Thread).
3. Author must copy and paste the phrase "2025 Literotica Geek Pride Story Event " in the "Notes" field of the submission. We recommend that you COPY & PASTE it into the NOTES field to avoid typos.
4. Please use “Geek Pride” as a story tag.
5. All entries to be submitted from May 15th through to 11:59pm, May 24th - with a Go Live Date of Sunday May 25th. You can submit any time between May 15th and May 24th. All stories will be posted on Sunday May 25th.

That’s it.

So what are you waiting for? Get those Geek Fingers Flying! Start writing!

Lastly, a special thank-you to our old friend PuckIt for originating this very fun story event back in 2018! You live on in this event, PuckIT. And thanks also to Laurel, Manu, and Literotica for hosting, and to all the writers who've written stories for this event over the last seven years, making Geek Day a day to look forward to every year!

This sounds fun... I have a story based on a game of chess but, well... it's outright boring, dull, and full of chess stuff.

Passing it to a wider audience would require efforts to make it interesting. Need to think of something like a scene from "Young Sheldon" where Sheldon explains their tax audit as a game of chess. Or maybe wrap another story around the game of chess as symbolism in the backdrop.

Thank you for organizing this challenge... It would be a fun challenge to stretch the imagination and make geeky stuff erotic ;)

Like 'The Queens Gambit'?

Like 'The Queens Gambit'?
That's more like a life story... But yes it could work.

I was thinking more like a chess game between Sherlock and Moriarty... their chess game moves along in parallel to their discussion.

My story is more of a monologue of a chess player while playing the game... as they engage in a battle of wits... trying to outmaneuver each other... lying traps and avoiding getting into one... both are good players and reading each other so well... by the end of grueling 7 hours game... they are both mentally drained... unable to find the weakness they shake hands and call it a draw.

What the players saw was a bloody labyrinth with death looming over each step... but what about the external observer? Meh... they just fiddled with pieces wasted 7 hours and walked away without any result.

There is something similar in the song format Oh.. Capablanca by Juga

His face was grave, focused, intent on the game in front of us.

The game! If only it was just a game.

We advanced the pieces cautiously around the board. I was reminded again of how much chess is almost like a dance, a dangerous dance of wills and intellects.

From my first GP entry (was it that long ago?) An Infernal Folio

Looking forward to this year.

Hm... I've often cheated and just used a story where some geeky characters (aka anyone I've ever written about) end up geeking about something or other. Sex, for example.

Though I enjoyed writing the scene where people play sexually-charged Settlers of Catan (look, there's no rule against trading a sheep card for a wood and a blow job, OK?), so I might try similar with another game. I'm sure some innuendo could be made about filling tunnels in Ticket to Ride, for example. And there's no way I can produce another 50 board-game related excruciating puns, so you're spared that, at least.

I'm in. "Flight Of The Red Queen", super heroes, alternate universe, kinda grim and with my usual awkward sex scenes. I've failed to get it across the finish line last year but that means I already have a head start. :)

I'm 35k words in and about 2/3rds done. My support network is keeping me upright so, unless something unforeseen happens, I should be done on time.

I love this event, some of my greatest stories (to me at least) have come from this event. Unfortunately they've been fan fiction which means I can't sell them!!! I think I'm going to try the near impossible - I'm going to un-fanfic something I wrote in the past. The ideas are original, the characters and settings weren't. Time to make something completely mine (that I can sell) A Romantasy of some sort.

I've been working on my jury duty geek guy story that I started for this event a while back so I'm hoping to finally finish it for 2023 2024 2025!

Hmmm... maybe I'll get a start with the characters in the Valentine's Day contest and see how well they're liked then give them something big to do in the Geek Pride event.

I'm almost done with "Flight Of The Red Queen". All that's left to do is wrap up the last big fight scene, write some sequel bait epilogue and then polish the everloving snot out of it. And if I still can keep the Muse blowing me, maybe even a sequel/spin-off. I think I just fell in love with that setting ;)

Last year, I had no idea what I could write because I barely knew what constituted a geek. I wrote a story after all and it was fun to write! It also jump-started my "Alternate Freya-verse" idea where I can milk my characters for more stories. Somewhere (probably while discussing the Literotica Convention Author Challenge idea), Chloe asked me to write some stories for the challenges that she was going to be hosting. And, of course, how could I say no? So, I was looking at the ones that she was hosting and this popped up.

What in the world can I write about when I barely came up with a geek pride story last year? And the characters weren't very geeky. It was a stretch. So, what could I come up with this year? And all of the sudden (you all know how it goes), I had an idea. And then it could do this. And the main character could do this. And then this other character comes in and does this. And then...

So, I guess I'm in. Which is good considering the promise I made and the only other option is the Hammered dealie which I know even less about than geeks!!!

I have to get to work. There just aren't enough hours in the day!!! 😀

I keep meaning to submit something for this one. Maybe this will be the year? In any case, it's one of my favorites to read, so get to cracking, writers. I need entertainment!

Bringing this to the front. May is not too far away! I have my idea ready to write, and it will not be in Sci-Fi & Fantasy! Not that it's not a great category!

Never thought this would happen to me - reality invalidating large parts of my story. I'm a Sci-Fi/Fantasy writer, god damn it!

But I have the nagging suspicion that my dark mirror super hero story playing off the tensions between the US and Russia miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight not go down so well. And holy fuck, the madman running the White House puts my super villain comic version of him to shame EACH FUCKING DAY. The only thing Trump hasn't done yet is drop a nuke on some random place just to spite someone.

Anyway, my super hero tale is on ice for the time being. I think you Americans have already had enough of this insanity so I'm gonna spare you.

So... how about some horny BATTLETECH fan fiction? I mean, I've written 16,000 words already so this is totally happening. But I'm worried that this may be too niche even for Geek Pride. I've tried to keep it as beginner-friendly as possible, big high-level lore dump intro scrawl included which will most likely scare away 95% of prospective readers. Fuck, I might even axe the steamy threesome shower sex scene because ... who needs sex when you have big stompy robots? :)

My entry is done. I just have to edit it down and smooth off the rough edges... and type up a preface... and work on the cover art... do we need citations? I hate doing citations...

Hm, I wonder. This isn't a site contest, so I can enter with a story from a series, right? I mean, my most successful story so far was from last year's "Geek Pride", and I wonder if I can just write a second chapter for adventure of my geeks in space.

Year before last I entered several "Episodes" of Enchantress - a Terry Pratchett fan fiction.
Last year it was a couple of "Episodes" of Captain Scarlett - scifi written in the style of 1950s scifi
This year it will be another "Episode" in the adventures of Alan Scarlett, Space Hero!

Yeah, it's not a competition and there's no prizes and the rules are spartan by design - so why not. Go for it.

LOL. Niche or not, go for it. That niche makes it even more geeky. LOL

Hey, great :)

As for Hammered, just read one Mickey Spillane novel! You'll get the deal. Short sentences. Action! Sex! Violence! Actually just read a bit of Noir. You get some great ideas that way. I'm still gestating ideas for Hammered. Geek Day I have my story, just have to work on finishng it now.

OMG a plot bunny! These were apparently early electrically-powered vibrators. LOL.

"Look what I found in this box of great-grandma's stuff."
"What is it?"
"I don't know, but lets see if we can get it working."
