Re Older poems/exposure-

Many Years ago, there was a poet named Rybka. Some might say a curmudgeon ( me, I called him that and he knew it) it was sort of an affectionate term even though he disliked me until close to his end, when he became a softer gentler poet friend.

Well, he had a thing he did help me remember? Angeline, 1201? Did Rybka do the Spinner daily or weekly....regardless, there is, or was a feature here at lit called the Poetry Spinner. One could press a link and up would come a poem, either old or new, usually old, and Rybka would post it. Sometimes he would say it took a thousand spins ( exaggeration here) to get a decent poem, but it was worth it.

I thought about reviving Rybka's spinner project, just to pick up where he left off because he believed that older poems deserved to be read too. If no one is offended by this idea, ( and I am NOT trying to take over Rybka's memory, just a tribute to it) maybe I or anyone else who would like to volunteer to post an oldie but goodie ever so often....it might be a wee bit easier than deleting and reposting poems, especially if the poet is deceased, as many of the best have gone on to that great anthology in the skye. Blessed be, all of you.

Rybka, did it weekly, when he did new poems. You are right, I think there is way to randomize picks, and he would mention the number of tries. At least once when he did NPR, that is all you got was the spinner.
He was a hard-ass.

Damn, sometimes you people make me feel like I am the old timer here, and you the newbs. Here. Scroll down to "Random Non-Erotica". Click "Spin!". The erotic poetry hub has it's own random spin, too.

Funny, hit spin four times and landed on my own poem. What are the odds? Pretty damn low. Unless it isn't really random.

you're right. looks like bullshit. like that list that appears next to individual poems, "if you liked..."
I wonder what Tazz gets....
we'll never know
I wonder what s. gets...
I think I know the answer to that one.
I wonder what the unfairly unbalanced Bill O'Reilly gets...
what he was told was good

Many thanks to Magnetron for commenting on "I've Had Enough"

Many Thanks to Tsotha for commenting on "I've Had Enough", "Exit With A Bow" and "Gods Don't Die" and for fovoring this last one.

Two things:

1) Todski, thank you for adding the link to your signature. :D

2) This thread is to "keep the review thread clean". What review thread?

Thanks, Magnetron, for commenting on "Is She Or Is She Not?".
The repetition is really what's all about here. Forced by the concept and doubly forced by sheer musical need.
(re-enforcing a perfect cadence with a plagal one, ie G=>C, then F=>C).

Many thanks to HoneyAdored and todski28 for commenting on "I've Had Enough".
tod, me too!
Are we enough for forming a club? :)

Many thanks to Magnetron and todski28 for commenting on "Bugle Still Resounding". They are both helpful and accurate points that I missed through my laziness to do a little editing. (I hardly ever do) but you set me again in working mood and that is very important for me at this time. Thank you both, fellows!

Holy crap y'all! Three recommendations for the Clothes Line, thank you all. I told OldBear it was my favorite and posted it for him. Thanks to the boys who recommended it and to Neonurotic and GM for commenting.
GM, I didn't do it in the 1st person because it was a gift. It came to me as a short film and I was seeing it from an old granny's perspective. She was watching from across the alley and knew what those clothes meant and she was fondly remembering her own young love days. That's why it has such a dreamy feel for me.

1. an apology, I should have noted that the comments where turned off, I forgot what a pain in the ass it is to find out after the fact.
2. GM, the comment I would have made is rather complicated
3. despite the new talent, always a bad idea to submit too many
4. newbs, same deal
5. some of the old talent that don't leave comments, what do you expect?
6. newbs again, it fucking helps your cause to start leaving comments, I am not running over that again, I get in trouble with the mods, lose H's, get regarded as a prick and it just makes me prickier, and it ain't pretty.
7. hello tampon city, I submitted one poem this year, turned the comments off, so I am talking about your peers. Say fucking hello!
8. "Bite me" has higher quality poems in it than have of the shit I see here (and I ain't working hard there), and it get's fucking bounced to Siberia.
=========================================
9. if all else fails, create zillons of alts and comment on yourself, at least you're faking it, sometimes that works.
10. have a nice day, have a nice rest of your life, get a dog and train it to roller over on all fours
11. I think I had two more, but I'm calling it a day.

You should participate in a 30 in 30. Also, submitting a lot of poems ensures that people will be forced to read one of yours, whether they want to or not. Poems are made to stay two, three days there, and then it's off to limbo. More poems pushed in. Rinse and repeat.

But late on the last one I posted

Thank you matryoshka for your comments on "how did we get here" and the reccomend .

Thanks GM for your thoughts on the two word plays so close together and for pointing out which you thought was the stronger image and phrase. I may put it in the edit thread a bit later.

Will thank every one for just porn and knotted yarn soon.

Thanks to Ash, tod, and normal jean for taking the time to comment on "Riding the Bus in Riyadh," and a special thanks to normal jean for the pm.

regarding the above---

see? I cannot tell if you are mad, pissed off or pissed on, just grumpy or maybe you need a neck rub. You know I have been here since 2002 and things never change, just the names.

I like some of the regulars' alts, they are / can be fun, to watch someone mood write. That is what I do with my alts. But come on, 1201, you can't expect everyone to take poetry seriously just because you do.

What really upsets me is when people get angry at alts even when they have a dozen of their own. and what makes me laugh my ass off and bothers me at the same time, is being assigned blame for an alt that IS NOT mine!! I still get a chuckle out of the idjits that do that.

Anyway, just write, GC, just write. You are so good, too good to flub around and waste your time with posers. They know who they are, and they do not write poetry. You've been an accidental mentor to me and many others and I do adore you but I wish you would calm down. I am afraid Iwill pop in here one day and Angeline will tell me you croaked from a cardiac infarc and then I will have to write a frog poem about you.

ribbit ribbit, croak not thy poet, for thou art needed in this place of art, indeed-ed.
