It has been 10 years since the last Survivor competition was held here on the site. I fondly remember pushing myself to write stories outside my comfort genres. While some might have viewed it as a competition, I saw it as a tool to inspire myself—a little gamification of my then-emerging erotic writing.

In celebration of Boxlicker101’s valiant effort, I wanted to resurrect this year-long event and invite you all to participate. It’s a celebration of the community here and a reminder that, without enthusiasts like Boxlicker101, this would be a much duller place.

Enough rambling, let me explain what Survivor 25 is. It’s a year-long journey where you earn points for publishing stories in as many genres as possible. The event tracks your participation here on Literotica, and by submitting stories and taking part in thematic competitions, you can earn points.

You are responsible for keeping your scorecard up to date. If you have any questions, please use this thread or DM me directly, and I’ll do my best to help.

The scoreboard for the event can be found [here].

Official rules for the unofficial Survivor 25
* You can join at any time by replying to this thread and announcing your intention to participate. Then copy the blank scoreboard and create a thread with the name ’Survivor 25 Scoreboard - yourusername’ and paste that into it.

* The objective is to write as many new and original stories as possible, in as many different genres as you can, here on Literotica. The writer with the most points at the end will be declared the winner and earn the praise of everyone who participated, as well as those who enjoyed all the stories written.

* All regular Literotica submission rules apply. When discussing times and deadlines, it’s the date of publishing that counts, so plan accordingly.

* As indicated on the scorecard, you will earn points for submitting stories. Caps (limits) for each category are in place to encourage you to explore new genres before continuing in your more familiar ones.

To progress beyond a Cap you need to have published a story in each literotica category.

* There is also something called Immunities that you can use to clear genres you don’t wish to write in. These count as if you had published a story in that genre, allowing you to bypass its cap. For more details on how Immunities work, see below.

As it said above, to progress beyond a category cap, you must publish a story in every genre first—or use an Immunity to clear the unused categories.

Bonus categories
Since audio and illustrations are technical obstacles outside of the writing I have decided that these are bonus categories and doesn’t count toward ”completing” all the categories for a new level. Chain stories are also granted this bonus status since it is a category that is somewhat outside of the regular literotica genres. The interactive stories have also been added to the bonus list. So you don't have to pubslish or immunize yourself against these genres to progress beyond a Cap.

Immunities
An Immunity is a tool you can use to clear a category. When used, it fills the category to the next cap, making it count as though you had written stories to reach that point. The caveat is that no points are awarded. However, you can take a category you don’t want to write stories in off the board entirely.

At the end of each month, starting from the month you join, you will receive 1 free Immunity that can be used to “clear” a category. Additionally, for every 10 points you earn through writing, you will gain another Immunity. Below, I will do my best to summarize each participant’s Immunity score on the board, but feel free to correct me via a direct PM.

There is also a third way to earn an Immunity: the Bingo method. I’ve created a bingo card for the Survivor 25 journey (linked here). If you manage to clear a row, DM me, and I’ll award you an Immunity for your valiant effort.

As December approaches, there will be an audit of used Immunities to ensure we end the journey with everything accounted for.

It can be as complicated or as easy as you want it to be. thats the beauty. After you copy paste the scoredcard and create your score thread you can just focus on the writing. And I'll be here to help out if you are struggling to figure something out.

My intention was to add those challenges as well. Just write the challenge like you did. Should I clarify that maybe?

Each contest is worth 5p. (Only the first submission to a contest awards the 5p.)

I updated the scorecard now to say that those unofficial challenges also counts

Nah... I think we are good. Now I see the fun of the dashboard. 3 submissions worth 19 point and it gets harder and harder as we progress... unless we overcome our inhibitions and venture in the categories that are no so appealing...

This would be fun.

Yes, it really challenge you as a writer. you now have 1 immunity as well if you want to strike one category from the list.

Nope, I will pass on the immunity. I want to try them all. After all there are so many ways to approach a category and still stay away from core dislikes.

Welcome Jocelyn and enjoy the Survivor. Looking forward to reading some of your works

You dont have to use your immunities until later. You will collect them over the year. And talking about immunities. I put the Immunity Bingo Card up on internet so you can take a look.

Interesting. Looks like I already have used the sparks idea even before you posted this.

"Cupid's Misfire" is based on Mature + A Pivotal Misunderstanding + A Confession at Worst Possible Moment

Also, Amorous Goods and Crime+Punishment will have these sparks combos as well...

While this is not new, its definitely a fun way to set your creativity free. When I will have free some time, I will try to automate the randomization of the Category + Two sparks combo on fly, Like rolling dice. Let's see what we come up with ;)

Ill try to keep the bingo cards updated for the players. Ill mark the sparks you mentioned.

Indeed it is a fun and creative way to mix it up when trying to come up with a story. Glad you like it.

in terms of eliminating categories... I need a clarification on Incest/Taboo: if I wrote step-daughter w/ step-father... or say niece with uncle (guy married to her mother's/father's sister)... does that count? hope that makes sense...

Regarding your own personal bingo card, the technical hurdles of posting images here is still a problem. So for now I try to keep track of it manually on my Hard drive. Hopefully the issue will resolve itself and I can put up the card here as a separate thread.

Regarding incest I think you would have to ask the Author hangout for the distiniction of incenst. I would day that step-relations are ok but I'm no expert.

Yes. Technically that's still incest, but that's not important.
What if I establish the characters as siblings and then never addressed the same factor again. The rest of the story proceeding as a pure romance between characters of similar age.

Rather than technicality, the key here is how do you use the taboo relationship? Call on it to make your sex hot or use it as the source of conflict or challenge in your story.

Let say character has hots for step father and every time she looks at him, she gets wet. Or let's say character has hots of uncle but she feels guilty everytime as she is on good terms with her aunt.

As usual you can reach A/H for broader view.
