I saw a big fat penis avatar the other day and it gave me a mister freezey headache. Not a great feeling. I like a big fat penis but I didn't like it in my eyeballs. Ok. Well... I like a big fat cock rubbing along my face, eyes, lips. Wait!!! You know what I mean!!!

Why did you pick your avatar and profile pic? What do you like about others?

My av is Loki, one of my favorite comics characters. In this particular pic, it's female Loki (Loki is canonically genderfluid in the comics) as the Goddess of Stories, from Al Ewing and Lee Garbett's out-fucking-standing Loki: Agent of Asgard series.

The whole series came at a time in my life when I really needed it. It hit hard and meant--and still means--a lot to me because it gave me hope. If someone like Loki--a former villain and complete nutjob--could pull it together, so could I.

Additionally, the little speech bubble (which is probably too small to see) says, "I'm me. First, last, and always." Even my user title is a reference to AOA, as "Moon King/Queen and Wanderer" are epithets used to describe Loki in that series.

It's funny how the av can become so closely associated with the person. I actually hear - in my mind - written posts emerging from the little photos or cartoons or works of art, animate or not.

It can be disorienting when someone changes theirs, as if a friend has suddenly decided from now on to only go out while wearing a purple bear suit.

I'm the same way! It takes me a long time to get used to the new avatars, and now that I'm around a lot less frequently than I used to be, the changes are even more noticeable to me. They really throw me off.

I felt like it was time to change my avatar after using the previous one for almost 7 years. It was a painting of Barbara Strozzi, one of the better known female baroque composers. That she also almost has her boob out in the painting felt appropriate considering the nature of Lit.

I chose my current av, because it happened to be the last pic I had taken when I decided to be whimsical and get rid of the old avatar. No cool stories or deep meanings behind it. I'm still not used to this one, so I might go back to good ol' Barbara. She's served me well.


That said, can someone tell me more about this purple bear suit? Does it come with a belly badge? Can you wear it in winter or will it make you hibernate? Or is it for dicks only? That would be a major disappointment.

What do you think of the fact that many others find dick pics off putting? Does this ever make you reconsider, wonder if you would make different connections with others? Or is showing what is yours part of your motivation for being here?

It interests me with the disregard for cockatars being no secret some are still ken on them. Good for them, we each have our reason for being here I guess
