I agree… I prefer 2nd gen myself, but love the first and third gen also…after that? Personally not a big fan… admittedly they are probably superior… just… not that cool.

Ah.. The Trans Ams. One of my all time, favorite cars, is the 1973 Pontiac Trans Am.

They handle amazingly well, are super easy to drive, beautiful to see… in my opinion, a perfect automobile.

If I had a choice between any Porsche ever made, and a 455 powered, 4 speed 73 Trans Am in Brewster green? I would take the Pontiac. No hesitation whatsoever.

I could never afford it when I was in my teens and there was a drug dealer in my neighborhood who had one of these and he would pop the hood and let me look around. I think his was a manual transmission and had t-tops.

Such a cool thread!! I do not have the strength or even the drive to build hot rod cars anymore. But truly, if I had a chance at a 73 Trans Am, especially in brewster green with a 4 speed… I would happily take on another car build.

But, alas, my last build was a Mercury Cougar… and I am totally inclined to make a video of me burning off the tires in that wonderful machine I built….
