A Soldier's Love (closed)

Daniella recoiled at the hug but calmed when he released.

I'm fine... Everything is always fine... I told him why I was so distraught... Michael was at the club again and Andrei helped you get me out of there we went to the diner to make sure he didn't follow us. Everything is fine.

She was a little too relaxed still and mildly out of it merely rattling off what was expected as she stared into his eyes.

We should get going soon.

"We really need to work on your comfort level with me..." Jack sighed, feeling her tense in his arms. "I get it now, I've seen what he's done to you. I just want you to know I would never do such horrible shit to you. How can I get you to trust me?" He asked, searching her eyes.

He shook his head. "No, everything is NOT fine. Stop pretending that it is, you got raped last night, that's so not fine." Part of him wanted to shake her, shake her out of this deadness she had put herself in, obviously to protect herself. "I'm not Robert, please, Daniella, please stop acting like this." He didn't realize how tightly he was holding her shoulders now.

Her eyes widened as she winced at his grip. Her eyes wildly searching his looking for the anger the pain she was far beyond used to from men. She was shaking her feet moving like she wanted to back away from him to run.

"Daniella..." Jack saw the look of panic in her eyes, loosing his grip on her significantly. He didn't want to let hef go, for fear she might run. "Daniella, I'm not going to hurt you. Please, relax." He was beginings to wonder if he could help her at all, or if she was far too gone to be helped. It scared him.

We... We should go...

She wanted to trust him... She really did it just was not easy for her to trust and she was terrified of Robert hurting Jack over her.

I guess you will want to talk about everything or whatever Robert's video made you want to do.

"Yeah... okay." Jack lead the way to the car and opened the door for her as mentioned the video.

"It made me want exactly what I suspect he intended it to. To kill him for you. He's smart, diabolically so, but he doesn't know the hell I've been through. Or the hell I'm prepared to go through to get what I want." He glanced up at her. "What do you think I was feeling, watching you get raped?" He asked, barely containing his anger.

She tensed going silent. Minor mental barrage of how Jack was not his brother and he certainly wasn't Michael. She tried to just hurry to the car. Michael and the other males in her past would have seen that video as an invite. She did not want to think that Jack would be that way but she knew no other mindset for males.

Jack sighed when she didn't have an answer for him. "Look, I'm trying here, trying really hard to show you there are good guys. I don't know what else I can do to prove to you that I'm not a monster, like my brother."

She bit her lip and told him about her life before Robert. How meeting Michael had gotten her into the club and dancing in the first place and how for most of her life guys like Michael and Robert were the norm for her.

"I see... so you've never been with a guy who just wants to be with you? Who didn't try to control you, or force you under his thumb?" Jack frowned, she really needed a positive experience with a man. "Why don't we go dancing? I may not be as good at it as you, but I think I do alright. "

Okay.

She was scared but she wanted to get away from that house.

I... I guess we could.

Jack took Daniella out to a dance club and rocked out with her for a few hours, completely enjoying himself. She was a completely different person out on the dance floor and it was a fun challenge to keep up with her, but he managed.

Exhausted, he dragged her to a table and ordered them drinks. "That was so much fun, Daniella! Thank you!" He touched her hand, smiling.

She just smiled a little.

It's my escape... Dancing in the club...the only place I was untouchable by anyone even Robert.

"You're fucking amazing! I have to ask, where did you learn to dance like that? I could barely keep up with you!" Jack was pumped. He hadn't had so much fun in years!

It was learn to dance or suffer other in the club helped but music has always been an escape for me so sorta came naturally.

She shrugged but still smiled a little.

"So, you're self taught. That's awesome! What's your favorite music to dance to? Can you dance to anything? I bet you'd make a really good belly dancer!" Their drinks came and Jack immediately downed about half of his.

I just love music. I know how to Belly dance and yeah could probably dance to just about anything as long as it moves me.

She watched him down half the drink like that and was a little worried.

What's wrong?

"I'd really like to see you belly dance. How good are you?" He was about to take another drink when she asked what's wrong. "What? ...nothing... why?" He sat the drink back down without taking any. Something was bothering him though. The video. The way her eyes had looked, she had looked so far away... like she wasn't there. He never wanted to see her look that way again. Her empty eyes haunted him. He blinked, shaking the thought away, focusing on her again, in the here and now.

Don't lie to me... Thanks to your brother I can read when someone is lying.

She sighed.

When Robert is hiding something he does that same near inhale of a drink too... The alcohol burn gives him time to think.

"Alright, fine. You want to know so bad. I didn't like watching you get fucked by my brother. I didn't like the way you looked a million miles away, okay? You deserve better!" Jack slammed his fist on the table, his anger getting the better of him.

Valium...

She jumped a little as he hit the table but did her best to remain calm.

"What?!" Jack asked sharply, catching himself and lifting his hands in a sign of guilty apology for his outburst. "Sorry... Sorry. I didn't mean to shout." He folded his hands, trying not to be threatening. "He drugged you and then raped you? And left a video for me to see?" Jack shook his head, he never knew his brother could be that sick. "I can't let you go back to that... I just can't..." He rubbed his forehead, feeling sick. "Jesus..." He looked up at her.

What choice do I have he has people everywhere.

She sighed.

There is no leaving him... Not alive anyway.

"No, not everywhere. He's no God and you shouldn't be so afraid of him. Jesus, he's got you trained, you don't even want to get away, do you?" Jack shook his head, covering her hands with his. "When was the last time you tried to escape? When was the last time you even felt alive? Like tonight?"

He scooted closer to her in his seat."anything has got to be better than this... just run, Daniella, run with me. I promise you, we can make it. You just have to try! I'm not going to take no for an answer this time, not after what he did to you last night! I've got the evidence in my pocket! Let's run! I've already got friends I can trust looking into things for me. People he can't touch. He's not going to get away with this. He won't get away with murder. And if he gets to kill me, my friends already know where I am, what I'm doing. If I go down, he's fucked! There's no way, NO WAY he'll ever get away with offing me."

I have heard this all before Jack and a driver of ours is dead because of me. I will not let that happen to you.

She shook her head but left her hands with his.
