What statement?Yes, you continue to not refute my statement![]()
Lol....of course.What statement?
This is why you have such open admiration for tyrants and dictators, is it not?A tyrant cannot allow defiance of any sort.
Remember when you were a "Lib Tosser?"Hardly. As the Professor of Triggernometry, I do the triggering, not the other way around.
Is it ok for states to ignore federal marijuana laws?Telling the Biden administration to go fuck themselves is normal. States and the Feds get into this all the time. And it's a good thing because it gives the court a chance to weigh in and settle the matter.
The problem I have is when a state decides the rule of law no longer applies, when they can just ignore the Supreme Court and decide their decision on the disagreement supersedes the decision of the highest court in the land. If we are to stay one nation, then we MUST abide by the laws WE passed. We MUST abide by the decision of the Supreme Court no matter what we think of the ruling. To do otherwise is arrogant, obtuse and just plain stupid.
There are those like the OP that cheer such behavior on without any real concept or understanding of what kind of harm it does. Yeah, we could have a civil war and the country could be broken up into them and us factions, but what then? We would have a lot of independent counties that would be vulnerable to conquest by stronger countries. North Korea, China, Russia, to name a few who would be happy with and take advantage of the dissolution of our nation. It may take a few years, but it would happen.
We need to choose wisely. I don't expect shortsighted and biased individuals like Ish to do so. It takes intelligence coupled with wisdom hitched to concern for something other than yourself to choose wisely. I know Ish and company hate the movie "The American President" because the main character is liberal. But there is one quote from it that has nothing to do with that left/right political line. It's just good advice and WE need to pay attention to it: "We have serious problems to solve, and we need serious people to solve them."
What we don't need is a state ignoring the rule of law because they don't agree with it. What we don't need is a faction in Congress, or State level politicians, with the "my way or the highway, all or nothing, I will not compromise" mindset.
After all that, let me sum up: Texas and those in the US Congress need to get their head out of their ass and do what is lawfull. It's extremely stupid to scream that the administration is ignoring the law, then turn around and do the same thing you are blaming the other side for.

The states are not required to enforce federal marijuana laws. It is up to the feds to enforce their own laws. To date, no court has required a state to enforce federal drug controls. Until that changes, yeah, it is okay for states to ignore federal marijuana laws.Is it ok for states to ignore federal marijuana laws?
Got it. Good answer. The states are not required to enforce federal marijuana laws. It is up to the feds to enforce their own laws. To date, no court has required a state to enforce federal drug controls. Until that changes, yeah, it is okay for states to ignore federal marijuana laws.
A more appropriate question that would be more analogous to the border situation in Texas is would it okay for a state to prevent the feds from enforcing the federal marijuana laws?
This is ALL about rampant illegal alien invasion of the nation.^^ This isn't about the border or immigration. This is about sowing discord geared towards The Giant Orange Toddler regaining the crown. Make Joe look bad at any cost. Ignore the plight of Texas residents in need and stoke hate.
This is Joe talking about how he is going to deescalate what is happening at the border:What I've continued to learn over the years is that the right doesnt know how to deescalate a damn thing.
No it's not. That is just a dog whistle excuse to play the tough guy and as has been pointed out, sow discord. If it wasn't the border it would be any number of other issues used to allow histrionics and get their way. If it was the issue, a real issue, there would be a lot more politicians working on the bipartisan compromise bill instead of stomping their feet, throwing a tantrum and demanding it be done only one way, their way. This is ALL about rampant illegal alien invasion of the nation.
Yes, I figured you'd miss my point. This is Joe talking about how he is going to deescalate what is happening at the border:
Joe Biden Announces Border Is Broken After He Broke It – Says He Can Fix It When He Hasn’t – Asks for Authority Which He Already Has – Wants You to Believe He Will Take Action When We All Know He Won’t

Note: Joe Biden’s very first act as president was to end the construction of the Trump border wall and the Keystone Pipeline. Joe Biden later sold these border wall parts for scrap to some lucky soul for pennies on the dollar.
During President Trump’s time in office you could track the progress of his border wall. Trump was able to build hundreds of miles of border wall despite pushback from then Speaker Paul Ryan, Majority leader Mitch McConnell, and every Democrat in office. Trump also had to regularly fend off the liberal legacy media who attacked his plan to secure the US southern border.
Joe Biden sold the border wall segments worth $300 million for $2 million.
Over ten million illegals have now walked across the open border into the United States since Joe Biden took office.
More on Biden BS here: https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2024/01/joe-biden-announces-border-is-broken-after-he/
The only thing this demented nut is going to do is use the money provided to process even more friggin' illegals across that border. His plan remains the same, overwhelm and destroy the political majority in the United States to assure an everlasting Democrat voting majority. He got the plan from Jerry Brown and Gavin Newsom.
^^ This isn't about the border or immigration. This is about sowing discord geared towards The Giant Orange Toddler regaining the crown. Make Joe look bad at any cost. Ignore the plight of Texas residents in need and stoke hate.
And just where did any state defy the Supreme Court to allow legalized marijuana? Has any administration taken that issue to the Supreme Court? Yes, states have ignored federal laws to allow the consumption of marijuana, but as has been pointed out, none of them have tried to impede the enforcement by federal law enforcement of those laws. Perhaps you should go back and reread my post with an eye to understanding what I wrote. Is it ok for states to ignore federal marijuana laws?
Bull shit.No it's not.

So why aren't you out there stomping cockroaches, grampa? This is ALL about rampant illegal alien invasion of the nation.
If it isn't then why, when Trump was in power didn't they address it? Why wait? They may not have gotten everything they wanted, but they could have passed legislation to address it. Instead, they ignored it, even when the numbers were a 1/3 again higher than in the Obama years.Bull shit.
The illegal invasion started during the Obama administration. It was already a concern, a BIG concern, with the general public BEFORE Trump announced his candidacy. Now, if you want to start some pointless argument over whether Trump merely capitalized on the issue, by my guest but count me out. It would be a stupid, unprovable, discussion no matter which side anyone cares to take.
So saying that the issue is just some blown up 'dog whistle' is utter bull shit.
If it was that important (which it was) why play brinksmanship with it? Why not TRY to get a bill passed that would address the problem? Perhaps because they were more concerned about appearances?
You nailed it.Either that or they just hate the Democrats too much to give an inch on anything.
You'll have to ask Paul Ryan why it wasn't addressed. If it isn't then why, when Trump was in power didn't they address it? Why wait? They may not have gotten everything they wanted, but they could have passed legislation to address it. Instead, they ignored it, even when the numbers were a 1/3 again higher than in the Obama years.
Because, as far as "it started with Obama" that is bullshit. The highest number of apprehensions and expulsions for his administration was in 2014 with 486,651. Trump? 859501 in 2019 a third more than Obama's highest. And the Bush administration was higher than any time during the Obama administration, the lowest being 556,041 in 2009.
I will say we do have a problem at the border. The numbers for 2022 was 2,214,652 and it has climbed steadily since 2020. I realize that the House majority tried to stuff a bill down everyone's throat (HR2). It was voted down, but instead of trying to negotiate, they demanded it be passed as it was without any attempt at compromise. If it was that important (which it was) why play brinksmanship with it? Why not TRY to get a bill passed that would address the problem? Perhaps because they were more concerned about appearances?
As an aside, you really shouldn't try to shovel bullshit like that. It's way too easy to check the numbers.
