President Carter was running for reelection when I was in first grade.
My teacher was asking us who we would vote for.
I was blissfully ignorant at the time regarding politics even though I lived an hour outside of DC at the time.
So I had no clue how good of a job he was doing.
When he didn't win, I was sad just because I knew nothing of Reagan.

My political views are well known to those who know me, but avoiding party talk here as ever, it’s interesting the way we view politics and what gains our attention changes over time

I miss the days when we didn't have internet. When everything we knew we learned from study and research and the respect there seemed to be back then.
I rarely discuss politics because I grew so overdone by it growing up over there.
I have the same distaste regarding history as well.
I think it's one reason I wanted to escape it after enlisting in the military and getting out.
