Are photos allowed in Illustrated Stories or not? FAQ says yes but I'm unsure.

Fine folks, help a new photographer out.

This is a photo of me, taken by me, I am definitely 18+, been for a while!
No AI at all was used here, it's a photo modified in GLIMPSE (GIMP).
I used an edge detection filter and touched up some edges by hand.

I submitted this to Erotic Art, meaning for it to be a standalone piece.
It was rejected for violating rules for Illustration and Comics but it is not meant to be either.

"We do not accept photographs, photo-manipulations, or AI-generated images to our Illustrations and Erotic Comics section."

Please help me understand the following:

1) Am I breaking any LitE image rules here? I want to follow the rules.

2) How do I make clear a piece should be put wherever people put photographs in Erotic Art?

3) Can we somehow group photos together in a series, the way we do with stories?

For example, if I want to take a series of photos of myself stripping (I have a camera remote)
or have someone (over 18) take them, could I submit them as a set? Or would I have to submit
them as illustrations in a an illustrated story? The photos would not be heavilly edited,
probably just changed to greyscale or oilified (oil painting filter in GIMP).

I triple checked the Illustrated Stories FAQ. It says that photographs I took (I'm over 18) of myself (still over 18) are allowed, provided they are not AI enhanced, only edited in a photo editor, and aren't hardcore porn.

I submitted my photo to Erotic Art, it got rejected. The moderator wrote photos aren't allowed in Illustrations and Comics.
Ok, I'm resubmitting to Illustrated Stories because the FAQ says photos are allowed there. However, if the mods say I can't use photos in illustrations then I'm very, very confused. Where am I supposed to submit photos? Somewhere else? Nowhere but in the forums? Help please.

Could a mod please clarify this or update the FAQ if we can't submit photos anywhere?

Literotica Illustrations is a section of the site for artists to submit their own original non-photographic artwork - comics, paintings, computer-generated artwork, etc. - to be viewed and enjoyed by Literotica visitors.

Literotica Illustrations is different from our Illustrated Stories section. While the Illustrated Stories section contains text stories with accompanying artwork, the Illustrations section is for artwork that is displayed on its own - not as part of a text story.

I think "Illustrations and Comics" is the same thing as "Literotica Illustrations", leading to the rather confusing situation that Illustrated Stories are not under Illustrations.

Illustrated Stories definitely does accept photos - example. However, I'm not sure if a submission that's only photos would be accepted. The only person who can resolve that is Laurel; I see you've tagged her in this discussion but I'd also recommend sending her a private message if you haven't already done so. Good luck with it.

Those guidelines take me to the Illustrated Story guidelines, which say photos are ok, so I thought I could upload photos to Erotic Art which seems the reasonable place for them.

[edit] Ok, I clearly see Erotic Art says non-photographic works so it looks like Illustrated Stories is my only option.

I did submit to Erotic Art last time I tried and I think it got put under Illustrations and Comics and then the mods told me twice that they don't accept photos there. I am so confused now. :/

[edit] Yeah, I read those Erotic Art guidelines and then totally mind blanked and forgot it clearly said no photos in Erotic Art.

I will give this thread a bit and then try messaging Laurel directly. I don't want to annoy the mods.

Adding to my confusion, there is also Illustrated Poetry, with this lovely poem and a very photographic photo of lovely real person boobs. I wish to share similar photos, but mostly just photos, or a set of photos, not a bunch of text with photos. I now have no idea where to submit such work.
