Still? Hasn't the Minnesota legislature gotten around to outlawing winter yet? I've seen a couple stories of mayors who made it illegal to die in their towns so I thought that Minnesota, as progressive as it is, might have already taken the logical leap to legislate permanent Spring.

I don't think it can be said enough what a marvelous job Gigi has done. She has been very accomodating to a lot of people and she did a lot of leg work that made it easier for a whole bunch of us, including me.

I want to eat, laugh and yak with those of you who want to eat, laugh and yak with me. I know that everyone else has people or a certain person they want to spend time with. That to me, is more important. I want to meet some of you and finally know the friends I have made online. Pictures are minor... dress code is minor... who's staying in which hotel or sage green Ford Escort is minor.

Those things are peripheral and can all be worked out to the pleasure of everyone.

The important thing, for me, is having the opportunity to meet some of you. That's why I'm coming. I know that's everyone else's agenda, too. ;-)

Let's don't lose sight of the important thing... the friends we get to spend time with. Nothing else is as important as that.

With all due respect (and I do understand the reasoning behind the posting of "rules" and such), if we're going to go that route, why not just go to a real club, rather than trying to half-ass it in a hotel room?

My understanding was that we were going for a comfortable, friendly environment. In my rather unenlightened opinion, I think we're moving way past casual fun. The reason that some of us don't do clubs and such and prefer to play for fun in our own bedrooms with friends is that we don't want to have to ask permission from some random person to do what it is we want to do with other consenting adults.

I dunno. Maybe it's just me wanting to be the voice of dissent again, but I'm just starting to feel very uncomfortable and intimidated by the whole process. I do NOT do well with large groups of people, particularly when I feel hovered over. It makes me tremble and feel sick to my stomach. The amount of whiskey I would need to feel at ease in the type of environment we're describing would exclude me from playing, anyway. I'm just not having a good feeling about this AT ALL.

*Sigh* I'm just not having a good feeling about this AT ALL.

*hug* feel better, and please promise you'll still come I wanna meetcha. And lot of other cool people, too. I don't know that I'll be there for much of the play party as it's all rather new and intimidating, but I do want to see folks I've talked to and maybe make some friends. And see ropework I hope! I believe I'm one of the youngsters, but I'm legal in the states last I heard. Seems the rules are being thrown out to protect folks which makes sense. Somehow tho I doubt there will be anyone barring the doors or making people feel uncomfortable. If they do I'll be the first to run for it with anyone else who's feeling overwhelmed. Here's the plan:

1) prepare a distraction
2) run for the fire escape
3) don't trip on the way out
4) have trench coat and fedora waiting below to facilitate incognito disappearance
5) return to unsuspecting green ford taurus or empty hotel room and wait out the other escapees
6) have a great time retelling the tale for years to come

Wow, how wonderful we have so many who are planning on coming or thinking of it! Each person is different too. We have some that will not engage in any kink or be near it. We have some that don't mind being near it but won't participate. Those that see the value of rules. Those that don't want any rules or it's no fun. This is what makes life interesting.

Happily there is a solution and option for everyone. Those that can't or don't want to, need not come to the suite. Those that come to the suite but won't play in a kinky fashion can play jinga or whatever. Those that want to scene within the rules can, stating "Yes, take pics." or "No, pictures please!" Those that want NO rules can take their vic, er, I mean, play partner to a private room they've rented. Awesome!

Gigi has gone to great lengths and some personal expense to provide this suite and to provide us all with opportunities for a good time.

I want to personally, thank you for all of that, Gigi. And tell you that I can't wait to meet you.

The Rules that I think Homburg mentioned are mostly, basic common sense stuff: mostly stuff that I think you'd all be doing, even without him mentioning them.

There are about 2 dozen people attending this. I think the majority of us have stated an interest or a determination to partake in some type of play or scening. That's a lot of people to try and please. (That's a lot of people in a hotel room, in fact... LOL) No 1 or 2 or 3 people can do that. But like Fury said, if one particular way doesn't provide you with the scene you want, there are other ways to get it the way you want it.

It doesn't have to be hard or stressful. It really should be fun, exciting, another adventure. At least, I'd hope it would be.

I know that for me, that's how this trip will be. ;-D
