Just has to rip and sew a few new logoes.

He lucked out. Same shade of blood red. Same color as his face when he gets pissed off.

And he can get away with chokeing kids in Texas easier too.

I wanna see him in a cardigan. Kind of a Mr. Rogers look.... it would suit him.

I don't know about the getting away with choking kids in Texas. We have a lot of Bubbas down here who are going to be watching Bobby real close. Tech fans want to win, but they don't want their kids to be beat up by anyone. It is going to be interesting, that is for sure. Bobby may get an education while he is here.

KM - he would be one of the greatest College coaches....

of all time.

Ultra flamable - red faced - throws chairs on the sidelines, chokes kids, cussing kind of a coach.

Recently fired and now - has found a new job - that's what made it news.

Oh. Is he also the guy that got kicked out for being a parent on little league night?

I don't know if Bobby will be choking/kicking/throwing chairs too often. Texas has concealed carry...

:)

And the Bubbas in Lubbuck ain't afraid to use it.

94 % of his kids graduate!

Coach Knight is a class act. And, one of the best basketball
coaches of all time.

If he was recruitng your son, you would be assured that your son would be required to maintain his grades, and become a "Team" player, which would serve him well in later life.

Sort of like the Marines.

Bobby Knight is an insecure dickhead, IMHO. Read his interview in Playboy from a month or two back - he can't even get through two or three hours of talking to a reporter one on one honestly about everything he's done without blowing up about ten times.

I'll bet there are several college basketball coaches that have graduation rates above 90% that don't make assholes out of themselves on a consistent basis.

You touched on one of his two strong points, the other is that he has never even been hinted at breaking NCAA rules. We in the Big 12 are looking forward to seeing what he will do at a school that has to be one of the most difficult to recruit to in the nation. But we will be keeping an eye on his ability to controll his anger as well.

I don't argue the fact that he's one of the alltime greats in the history of college basketball...but I don't see how anyone can call him a class act or a role model. Lots of other great coaches win and graduate students without being violent, or profane on a consistent basis.

I do hope that he can succeed at controlling himself in Texas. He has a lot of knowledge, and I think he is basically a principled man. He just needs to grow up and stop acting like a fucking baby.

In the Big 12 he won't be the only legendary coach. He will have to compeat with the likes of Roy Williams at Kanas, and Eddie Suton at Oklahoma State, Dave Bliss at Baylor is rebuilding a program there that has been in the dumps lately, allso. All three of these men have extreamly high graduation rates, play by the rules, and have never thrown a chair. We'll see how Knight fits in.

I don't know TF. You certainly know the state a lot better than I do, but I heard a clip on the radio last week about the possible hiring of Mr. Knight and a football player from Texas spoke about his coach throwing him to the ground to teach him a lesson. That kid thought it was just fine that Bobby likes to manhandle his players.

It will definitely be fun to watch. Knight has a history of great accomplishment in the sport, but he's been limping along for quite a few years with good but not particularly noteworthy teams at Indiana. I wonder how he'll cope with the challenge of turning this Texas Tech program around. Patience is not his strong suit and his reputation is a bit tarnished. He may very well be on a short leash. I love college basketball and he has not exactly been a credit to the game, IMHO. I wish the fans of Texas Tech the best, however it turns out.
