Boris tries to do a Trump

Leaving the EU but still cooperating with Europe should have been possible. But apparently not.

Isn't that what it was before? EU is fairly recent, no?

And how to Brits see Little Boris' resignation?

Britain won't join the EEA because of the free movement agreement.

Before the EU, Dover, the major channel ferry port, had a large number of offices dealing with customs forms. They no longer exist.

None of the insulated establishment believed people would really vote leave, because they're out of touch with the real issues of the average jo on the street. None of them believed a deal would be rejected. So no satisfactory backup plans were ever made. No deal plans should have been given the same priority as the deal from the start.

If Dr Nicholl is right, that's a pretty horrific prospect. I hope he's wrong.

Cameron was an egotistical, arrogant prick who didn’t think he would ever loose and so had no plan what to do when he did!

I'm actually all for a second vote, now that we actually know the reality of the options. I know people who have changed their minds, in both directions. Deal or no deal is something that we've never been given a choice over, but everyone has made assumptions on. If people voted no deal, parliament could no longer obstruct.

A second referendum that included in the option “remain” would resolve nothing and just serve to make a further mockery of our democracy. What value does a second, third or forth have if you fail to observe those that you don’t like (just like Jo Swinson et al have said they would)? The only way the question could be formed is deal (but which one and what alternatives could be negotiated with the EU) or no deal.

I don’t like referenda; the majority of voters do not understand the complexity of the question they’re being asked. What the country needs is to vote in a government with a sufficient majority to carry out the policies they were elected on, our normal electoral process.

But, to remind you; this government was returned under the mantra of “no deal is better than a bad deal” is that to be ignored too? And the Labour manifesto also vowed to leave! Except now it’s not! Or perhaps it is! Or may-be both!

So, they were all elected to leave (except SNP and LibDems) they have decided the deals available are “bad” then the next step is logical, unless they vote for something before 31st October.

Woof!

What I find difficult to understand is why anyone would want to be Prime Minister after the failure of Mrs May to get any sense out of parliament.

Cometh the hour cometh the man….I’m not saying Boris is that man but he seems to think so. At the end of the day we need an exceptional politician to come along to resolve this mess, I’ve no idea who that is, just who it, definitely, isn’t and for sure it isn’t Swinson or Corbyn.

There is no agreement among MPs on any alternative to the deal Theresa May proposed. They are opposed to No Deal but what follows? Nothing.

There is….remain or as close to it as they can get! It’s just taking time for them to get there, but, still might happen!

If they had offered a time-limited transitional arrangement until those checks are operational - Mrs May's deal might have been approved - but the EU wouldn't consider it.

No one has pressed them hard enough, yet. We must remember it’s in the EU’s interest that we remain too, and will only make those kind of concessions when it appears, to them, that they might also suffer in a no-deal exit.

Until then they will make Brexit as difficult as possible. Which makes Corbyn’s and Parliaments strategy over the last few years all the more naïve and/or disingenuous, tying the governments hands in a knife fight.

Woof!

A new resignation ... ? Some Minister?

Amber Rudd. Who is one of the most self serving pols among a bunch of self serving cunts. If she's jumping ship it's because she thinks the ship is going down.

Also if a copper can't stand for the length of a speech without fainting then what the hell are they doing being a police officer in the first place.

It's physiology, not attitude. Even the fittest conk out in parade situations.
