Democratic Primary Fucktussle!

Kentucky delays primary election until end of June

In coronavirus America, states are choosing whether or not they want to delay their primary elections to keep people safe from having to choose between their votes and their lives.

In a video announcement, Secretary of State Michael Adams (R-KY) announced that the May 19th primary would be moved.

He isn’t the only one taking action, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R-OH) has asked that the election be postponed for similar reasons and urged people to continue to self-isolate.

Will Trump ask that the Nov election be pushed back to 2024?;)

It will be interesting to see what happens in Ohio tomorrow. The governor lost his case to stop the primary but he still says it would be impossible to do one that people would accept under the circumstances. So they do it and he then asks that it be invalidated?

If all of the primaries to come get mucked up, is Bernie going to be an ass and insist they be redone--should the virus ever allow that?

It seems to me Jack, that in the future that statement might be seen as the first step of Ms Ocasio-Cortez towards more moderate central ground. Just a small dose of reality to start that journey perhaps?

Firebrand to the centre is a well traveled political path in many careers.

Amazing what going from $300 a week to $175K A year can do for your attitude?:)

Plus she has to get re-elected now.:)

The governor essentially got the state health director to say "Voting right now is a health hazard so I'm shutting this shit down," which is a foolproof way of going over the head of the judge, I guess.

It's not a small matter to delay an election, and people will get suspicious when it's a Republican administration interfering with a Democratic primary (though there are GOP races as stake too). But the primary isn't being cancelled, just delayed. The deadline to request to vote by mail will be extended now (I would have requested a mail ballot had I known life would be shut down by 3/17).

And all these primaries have been plagued by wait times, so why the hell would you ask voters to come out in the middle of a pandemic and stand in a potentially long and lethal line?

Is the DNC Once Again Orchestrating the Defeat of a Socialist Candidate?

In 1944, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) ensured that socialist Henry Wallace would not succeed Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR) as president. Is history repeating itself in 2020?

Democratic socialist Bernie Sanders received the most votes in the first three primary elections. After centrist Joe Biden scored his first primary win, the DNC consolidated the Democratic Party establishment around him. Candidates Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar immediately dropped out of the race and endorsed Biden, as did former candidate Beto O’Rourke. Kamala Harris and Cory Booker, who had already quit the primary race, followed suit and Michael Bloomberg did as well. The party bosses likely wanted to ensure that Sanders would not upend the corporate order.

DNC=RNC lite? :rolleyes::)

Joe Biden Pays Lip Service to Climate But Has Fallen Short on Action

As Joe Biden’s chances of clinching the Democratic nomination continue to rise, environmentalists are absorbing the possibility that they may eventually be faced with the challenge of trying to exert pressure on a nominee with deep ties to the fossil fuel industry.

Though awareness of the climate crisis among the public has reached a high, voters have failed to notice the meaningful differences between Biden and Bernie Sanders on climate policy. According to Washington Post exit polls, 34 percent of Super Tuesday voters who rated climate as a top issue voted for Biden, whereas 28 percent voted for Bernie Sanders.

Voters “are hearing a similar message from the candidates, even if their plans are different,” E&E News reported. That makes sense — both candidates refer to the crisis as “existential,” and Biden’s campaign has even admitted to plagiarizing environmental organizations in his climate plan.

To counter this, Biden’s campaign is trying to paint him as the candidate who could bring about change. But, behind closed doors, Biden has reassured high-dollar donors that “nothing would fundamentally change” if he were elected. When a Sunrise activist pushed him about his fracking position, he replied, “you oughta vote for someone else.” Rejecting change and refusing to listen to the electorate on climate are stances that mainline Democrats have held for years, as shown in recent years by people like Sen. Dianne Feinstein and Pelosi waving away Sunrise activists who were demanding a Green New Deal.

'Same old Same old' Joe! :)

“A Time to Rethink America”: Sanders Sets Tone at Coronavirus Debate

The final Democratic presidential debate of 2020 was a dispiriting affair for reasons that went far beyond the politics of it. The specter of COVID-19 lent a stark gloominess to the occasion, as did the seeming emptiness of the room itself: three CNN moderators, two men and the cameras. I never thought I’d miss a debate audience, but the energy was gone from that room, and the brightly lit set could not make up for it.

And then there’s this: “The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended that events of 50 people or more not be held for about two months,” Bloomberg News reported on Sunday. “For the next eight weeks, organizers should cancel or postpone in-person events of that size throughout the U.S.”

Biden has been lying about his stance on Social Security for months now, but found a whole new gear last night. He lied straight into the camera about statements he has made and votes he has cast, as if he’d forgotten that the internet exists and such brazen bullshit artistry doesn’t fly so well anymore.

Biden was similarly slippery on his support of the bankruptcy bill, on the Hyde Amendment and reproductive rights, on his vote for the Iraq War, on the Defense of Marriage Act, and on any and all areas where his record fails to meet the standard Sanders set simply by being in the room. One of the two candidates last night spent the last 30 years being right on the signal issues of the day, and it showed.

Joe=Hillary in flats. Another DNC corporatist to jolly the Left and vote Right.

I did my stint as a voting district chief. Under these circumstances, I'd e-mail all of the volunteer workers and tell them not to show up. The voters, who can be spaced out, are at a whole lot less of a risk than are the poll workers who have to engage at close quarters with every single one of them.

THERE IS NO ELECTION IN OHIO TODAY: Forecast Called For CONSTITUTIONAL SH*TSHOW

Basically, Ohio is a shitshow.

Last week, Republican Governor Mike DeWine set a national precedent by working fast to ban large events, close Ohio public schools, and stop in-person classes at Ohio's public universities. Over the weekend, he ordered the state's bars and restaurants closed. But DeWine stalled on making a decision about whether or not today's primary should happen as planned.

Late Monday, DeWine and Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose had still taken no public action to delay the vote. But at their daily press conference with updates on COVID-19, the pair announced their plan to go to court to seek a delay of the election. Assuming the court would rule in favor of the state, county boards of election around Ohio told poll workers not to come to work on Tuesday.

Then, a little after 7 p.m., Common Pleas Judge Richard Frye refused to issue a temporary restraining order delaying the election, saying it would set a "terrible precedent" and elaborating:

"There are too many factors to balance in this uncharted territory to say we ought to take away from the legislature and elected statewide officials and throw it to a common pleas judge in Columbus with 12 hours to go until the election[.]"

So it seemed the primary would go on as scheduled.

And that's when the real fun started.

Anyway, if you're in Ohio, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, or Maryland, there's no election today. If you're in Illinois, Arizona, or Florida, the election is on.

I certainly hope so. The D's should have fixed their rules after 2016 to ensure Party membership or as a minimum insisted that loyalty to party was a pre-requisite to representing the party. Sanders is a blathering demagogue and would be parasite who has never achieved any thing of substance in 40 years - just yap yap yap, virtue signalling his way to irrelevance.

If Biden as President could put the important institutions on life support, in particular get the Congress working again as a legislative body and get some professional competence to replace the gangsters and placemen who have wrecked so many departments and functions that would be more than sufficient for the next 4 years. Anything else would be a bonus

If you want to lose an election, any election quick smart, propose radical reform. Electors don't like it.

Joe Biden Projected To Win Arizona 2020 Dem Primary

The Associated Press and NBC News have projected 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden as the winner of Arizona’s Democratic primary race on Tuesday night.

By 11:15 PM EST, NBC News reported that Biden led 2020 rival Sen. Bernie Sanders by 13 percentage points with 62 percent of the vote counted.

Biden’s victory in the Grand Canyon State caps a night that saw the former vice president win all three states that were up for grabs, including Florida and Illinois. Ohio’s scheduled primaries for Tuesday were pushed back to June 2 at the last minute as a containment measure against the COVID-19 outbreak.

With Biden’s decisive wins on Tuesday night, 2020 rival Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-VT) path to the nomination has shrunk considerably.

Bernie is not happy. However he did say that he and Biden want the same thing, NoTrump!:D

Bernie Sanders ‘having conversations’ to ‘assess his campaign’ after Biden clean sweep

Senator Bernie Sanders will be assessing his campaign after big losses Tuesday night, according to his campaign manager Faiz Shakir.

“The next primary contest is three weeks away,” Shakir said in a statement. “Sen. Sanders is going to be having conversations with supporters to assess his campaign.”

Tuesday night Sanders lost Florida, taking just 23% of the vote to Joe Biden’s 62%. In Illinois Sanders captured just 36% against Biden’s 59%. And in Arizona Sanders took nearly 32% to Biden’s nearly 44%.

Bernie Sanders ‘conserving resources’ by pulling ads – denies he is suspending campaign

It’s time for Bernie Sanders to step back and let other progressive leaders flourish — especially women

Bernie Sanders uses expletive to lash out at reporters asking about campaign: ‘I’m dealing with a … global crisis’

I would normally say Bernie should stick in for another round of primaries if for no other reason than to bring a unity position closer together. BUT primaries now are threatening lives--not just of voters but of the poll workers. If he continues, he's responsible for those lives being threatened, which then just works against him. If he continues, it's certainly going to be mentioned that he's threatening lives and voters will vote against him for Trumpian selfishness.

This didn't get much attention because there are a few other things happening right now, but Tulsi has dropped out and (to my utter shock) endorsed Biden.

Tulsi Gabbard quits campaign – says voters have chosen Biden

U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard is ending her presidential campaign, and says “it’s clear” former Vice President Joe Biden has been chosen by the voters.

Gabbard suggested the coronavirus pandemic led to her decision to suspend her campaign, and says she can serve the U.S. best by being a member of Congress and in the military if the Hawaii governor calls up the National Guard.

Democrats, *Now Is Not The Time For Your Bipartisan Shit*

Some of you are probably worried about an ABC/Ipsos poll stating that 55 percent of Americans approve of how Donald Trump is managing the coronavirus pandemic. Who are these imbeciles, you might wonder? Pandora managed boxes better than Trump managed the coronavirus response. If it's any consolation, this poll looks like an outlier ... for now.

Americans during a crisis like to feel reassured. Trump goes on TV every day and mostly lies his ass off. He implies that miracle "Star Trek" cures are just around the corner. Yes, he's tanked the stock market during previous addresses to the nation, but it's not a given that Americans are holding him accountable for the "HOLY SHIT" news. This is why it's important that Democrats never let up on hammering him about his fatal incompetence. The stirring speeches Adam Schiff gave during the Senate impeachment trial should occur daily now.

This is tough for Democrats, who naturally want to focus on helping desperate Americans during a public health and economic crisis. They want to roll up their sleeves and "play it the bipartisan way." It's a whole thing with Democrats. After 9/11, they made a point of working with George W. Bush. They even gave him the benefit of the doubt when he suggested invading random countries. This is no time for petty political posturing. Attacking our self-proclaimed “wartime" president is unseemly. But if Democrats aren't aggressive, Trump — like Bush in 2004 — is going to coast to re-election. And that doesn't just hand our team a loss; IT KILLS EVERYONE.

Don't let up on Pudgy! Hit all the Fucking Trump Chumps, everyday!:)

As #WhereIsJoe Biden trends, Bernie Sanders to host coronavirus roundtable to address pandemic

While users on social media asked Friday why Democratic presidential frontrunner Joe Biden appears to be missing in action on the coronavirus crisis — causing the #WhereIsJoe hashtag to trend — Sen. Bernie Sanders indicated his intention to remain focused on the global pandemic by announcing a virtual roundtable event focused on the crisis.

The campaigns of both remaining Democratic contenders have been dramatically curtailed by the infectious disease, but Sanders — who remains a sitting member of the U.S. Senate — has been much more active and vocal on the subject of how to manage the outbreak over the last week, even as his presidential hopes have been dashed by repeated primary losses to Biden.

Bernie doesn't give up. Joe doesn't push Pudgy to perform.
