Disney Checkmates DeSantis

I don't see any way she (or any politician of either party) could follow through on both of the latter two.

“Tougher sentences for criminals” also carries much higher costs that must be paid for somehow.

And we all know supply side economics doesn’t work.

*nods*

I don't either. The very words I used after her press conference announcing the pay raises was that she's going to have to raise taxes somewhere to pay for it.

And the citizens of Arkansas aren't going to like that at all.

Nope. You might want to read it.
This is Florida, it’s still legal for anyone to stroll down Miami Beach, which is top optional.
Why can anyone see the real thing on Miami Beach, but according to the law, can’t see fake ones if they’re “lewd”?

Because one is attempting to suborn a minor child and the other isn't. Which is why 1 is illegal and the other isn't.

I'm wondering why you think both should be legal. Perhaps you could enlighten us?

Quoted for posterity and stupidity:

Now explain that ^ to BabyBoobs.

🤣

Of course they won’t.

That would cut into their budget for guns, bullets, non-“woke” budget beer, and donations to corrupt politicians and religious charlatans.

👉 Harpy 🤣

People only want you to continue to embarrass yourself out of pure unintentional hilarity.

I am more than happy to provide amusement at your expense. I do keep wondering why you're not embarrassed about being the subject of their (and my) mirth.

When did I comment on what I thought should be legal?

I’m the one asking, why is one legal and the other isn’t. I guess you couldn’t answer it either.

That's funny, I actually DID answer your question. I also posed another question.

You know, the one you didn't answer...

Disney made other agreements :D

Per Reuters, Martin Garcia, the chairman of the DeSantis-appointed board assigned to oversee Disney World’s special tax district, said during a public meeting on Wednesday that an agreement signed in February by the old Disney-appointed board has been uncovered. The agreement, made between the board and a Disney subsidiary that provides utility services to Walt Disney World, extended the contract with the subsidiary until 2032, meaning the Disney Corporation can set their own utility rates until that year.
lolololol

desantis, meanwhile, has filed a bill to nullify Disney's agreements. even if that manages to pass in Florida's House, it will be contested legally since Disney's moves were legal as per laws of the land.

Disneyland is in California. DeSantis is the governor of Florida.
to the general public, though, Disney is Disney and its values will be perceived to run throughout all its ventures, no?

I see no reason to cater to the public's ignorance. The Repugs shouldn't have it both ways even though they are trying it on abortion at the moment. They can either uphold States rights or basic rights across the nation. If DeSantis gets his nose out of joint for what Disney does in California, he should be told to stick it where the sun don't shine.

Actually, he should be told to stick it where the sun don't shine on a whole bunch of issues.
