A rare second chance for DeSantis and his stooge administration to "judge shop".Judge in Disney-DeSantis Case Recuses Himself
U.S. District Judge Mark Walker said a relative owned 30 shares of Disney stock
“The federal judge handling Walt Disney Co.’s lawsuit against Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis recused himself Thursday, landing the case in the hands of a judge who has in the past sided with the governor in blocking challenges to the sex-education law at the heart of the lawsuit.
“U.S. District Judge Mark Walker was originally assigned to Disney’s case, prompting DeSantis and other defendants to seek to disqualify him, citing comments he made in other cases that they said raised doubts about his impartiality. Disney challenged the motion, saying it misstated facts and misread the law.”

Yeah, that’s not exactly true either. Can you show another special district that had its board replaced by the governor? There are over 2,000 in Florida so it should be easy.
Can you also show another business that had a legal contract canceled by the state?
You do understand that this is how an honorable judge, who is totally invested in the rule of law and not in politically biased manipulation of the law does it, right?Judge in Disney-DeSantis Case Recuses Himself

Yeah.

Identifying conflicts of interest and disclosing them openly is honorable.Disney handpicked this judge by filing in his district rather than in the district where Disneyworld was located. Rather than dismiss the suit for lack of jurisdiction and get lambasted by it from the press as well as lose his favorable Disney buddies, the judge took the chickenshit way out.
That's not honorable.
An honorable judge would have put it on the table and said that the suit didn't belong in his district and that the complaining party had "judge shopped" to get it there.
But you go ahead and think that being a coward is "honorable."
I don’t know anything about either judge and will assume they are both honorable unless I see reason to believe otherwise. You do understand that this is how an honorable judge, who is totally invested in the rule of law and not in politically biased manipulation of the law does it, right?

We're not defending Disney. We're attacking government overreach and retaliation.I am old enough to remember leftists being anti-corporate. I literally cannot believe when I see liberals defending corporations like Disney, Target and In Bev.
I work for a huge investment bank. I have a vested interest in my company doing well. But I could not care less about any others, unless I own their stock. Even then, I can root against them. Our side makes money no matter what and our execs contribute exclusively to Dems.
Right wing is now more corporate skeptical than left. Same thing with military. I listened to an interview with Gen Milley that was so slavering that I could not believe it. NPR interviewer was fawning over his accomplishments (none listed; just that he was so brave and courageous, despite having never fired a gun in a conflict his entire career; though she said it was great that he put white men in their place).
Keep up the good work though. We had a marketing guy tell us that lefties are the best consumers right now since they share on social media. There are new economic ecosystems being set up by corporations to cash in on them.
Helps our stock price too.
You should be happy that an activist governor is taking down an insanely powerful corporation. Teddy Roosevelt did it. Made America a better place for it.We're not defending Disney. We're attacking government overreach and retaliation.
I don't support government retaliation against a business doing nothing. You should be happy that an activist governor is taking down an insanely powerful corporation. Teddy Roosevelt did it. Made America a better place for it.
Used to be leftist professors who taught me that in college. I did not agree until I saw the inner machinations of how big business rules this country.
Sounds like a very bad law.
He hasn't signed a good one yet.Sounds like a very bad law.
