Note: this is not to start a debate over ages allowed in stories. This is just a fun idea I thought of.
Our lead is 17 364 days old. They have a pretty mundane life, loving parents, friends and a number of hobbies.
On the night of their 18th birthday their parents sit them down and tell them that their18th birthday is a big deal.
“Oh, cause I need to register to vote?”
“Well yes but there are other things. For example, what do you think of these?”
“Mom I don’t see anything in your hand. Is this a game?”
“What about these?”
“Whoa! Invisible clothes! Not sure how useful they’ll be to me but thanks for the gift?”
“Good night sweetie”
Next morning our lead wakes up and sees a box of condoms and some skimpy lingerie on their dresser.
Then dad and mom come in and are very nervous.
“Sweetie quick question. You aren’t attracted to either of us are you? It’s okay if you are, 18 is a crazy year but we’d like to know if you are.”
“Eww! No!”
“Thank god. Brent from work had to move out to get away from his daughter.”
“Okay, what’s going on? Why are there condoms on my dresser?”
“Honey, before we answer, try and think, did you know what condoms were yesterday?”
So essentially a world where there is a veil over anything remotely sexual until someone turns 18 and the adventures of an 18 year old who didn’t know anything about sex till the day they turned 18 but have the weird feeling they have known for some time.
