We read a lot about Mum/son on here but nowhere near as much regarding Daddy/daughter... and this is not a suggestion for incest but rather one based on the allegedly existing phenomenon of 'father fixation'.

Two people meet in a supermarket checkout queue. They are both immediately taken with each other physically. The young, mid-twenties, married wife is instantly struck by the older (enough to be etc...) man's resemblance to her deceased father, on whom she always had a crush. He had passed away too soon when she was an early teenager, leaving a huge hole in her life and in the care of an unconcerned mother who took but little interest in her. The man, in his sixties, is retired and trying to make the best out of a bad situation in life where he is a carer for his invalided wife. He is thunderstruck by the young woman's likeness to his first fiancée who jilted him, almost at the church, and left him secretly pining throughout the marriage which he went on to make subsequently 'on the rebound'.

Each looks at the other sheepishly and they go their separate ways... but this is not the end of things. The mind of each is in a turmoil of emotions and ideas.

I have my own thoughts as to how it might develop - but would be interested in hearing any suggestions.

They meet again at something fun, by chance. Like one of those places you can go to and do ceramics or paint a picture while you have a nice glass of wine. Maybe they are there with friends and end up sitting next to one another.

The Jenna Arrangement by @Djmac1031 is a terrific take on this older man/young woman dynamic. This genre has always felt a little creepy to me, but he just nails it. Someday, I'll do one like this myself.

I appreciate the kind words.

My biggest goal in writing it was to keep it from being creepy. Although I suppose there are probably some who read it and felt it was because yes, boiled down to its bare essence its a male fantasy about being an older guy still able to attract a younger woman.

I think the biggest thing and best words of encouragement i can give to the OP on their idea is to write each character as a real person and not just some caricature.

Make the young woman a full fledged person with thoughts and feelings, not just a sexpot.

Make the man kind, compassionate, maybe a little self conscious about the whole thing himself, wondering if what's happening between them is real or is he just harboring an unrealistic fantasy?

I like the setup, but I would make the young woman remind him of his daughter, who died at about the FMC's age. That way they both have a sort of "incest-adjacent" slant on the situation.

This genre has always felt a little creepy to me

I keep coming back to this, because I've often wondered if, in retrospect, the idea behind my Jenna series might be considered "creepy" by some.

Because the first chapter at least was simply me writing my particular older man / younger woman kink. It grew into a more focused E/V series as it progressed but the basic foundation was a middle aged male fantasy about a much younger woman.

I think there's nothing inherently wrong with this fantasy. We older guys still find younger women attractive. Doesn't mean we aren't also attracted to women our own age as well. Or that we perv on any young woman we meet.

As with all kinks / turns ons, there biggest thing is understanding the difference between our fantasies and reality.

I think a lot of middle aged guys enjoy stories in this genre while still fully understanding... it's just a fantasy story lol.

I think where these stories can get CREEPY is when it's obvious the Main Male Character is grooming the younger woman and that the author is tap dancing around LEs age restrictions.

I'll be honest. The first episode, does come off that way, and how could it not? They were two strangers with her allowing him to watch her. But it was clear the MMC was as nervous as the young woman and when he was a perfect gentlemen throughout the act, that 'ick' factor went away for me.

In the OPs idea where they get to know each other a bit and build upon an attraction, it would be even less so.

Just to correct/ clarify, it was her watching him. But he was paying her to do so.

But your point stands. And I could understand how some might find the original premise creepy. My hope would be that readers (such as yourself) discover the execution of it made it less so.

I've always said if I ever decided to rewrite/ compile the series into one long story, I'd make the MMC at least 10 years younger and make Jenna at least a year or two older.

But overall the series has gotten a very positive response. Even has several women reader fans. And I know of at least one who wouldn't hesitate to tell me if she found the stories "creepy."

Like it a lot.

I suggest that the story could follow each of the MCs after the initial 'shock'. Maybe they each come up with the same plan - to revisit the supermarket at the same day and time the following week in the hope of 'bumping into' each other?

Fill in their back stories over that week... guilty feelings about their other halves etc. The important thing is to stress how much they are driven to follow this impulse.

Yes, that...

... and the "drive" persists and is strengthened by the following week's "bumping into". The guy possibly offers to buy them both a coffee at the supermarket coffee shop, apologising for his impulsiveness (about which she is very glad).

How and what they discuss over said coffee is problematic, their having no common background and neither being willing to divulge the real reason. Your job as the writer is to get them over that particular hurdle and into bed together!

Well, thanks to those who replied, including by PM which I've now answered.

I'll probably take quite a few of the ideas on board. Rather than a one-off romp in the sack, I quite like the thought of the couple eventually forming an ongoing relationship, each with their 'motivation' fully understood by the other so that the "dynamic" can be consciously re-inforced.

To that extent, I'm thinking of writing pair of short pieces, the first which indeed finishes with the aforementioned "romp", and then a sequel where it's shown that the relationship continues and where something new comes along. Haven't decided what as yet.

Yes, very much so... although...

The op's proposal that she be similar to the girlfriend who jilted him offers a specific possibility, namely that, from his angle, this could be a sort of "revenge fuck".

Certainly I had that in mind but Carnevil's thought runs it very close. I'm in two minds!
