There are significant, meaningful differences between what men and women like when we are talking about entertainment.
Unfortunately, this kind of discussion usually gets derailed by smooth brain thinking that can't understand outliers.
For example, if you take a simple statement "Men are taller than women".
That is 100% biologically accurate. The average American man is 5ft 9in, the average American woman is 5ft 4in tall, so a 5in average difference.
Even in areas where they select for height, men are taller on average. The average NBA Player is 6ft 7in, the average WNBA player is 6ft.
Then some smooth brain comes along and says, But, but... some women are taller than some men!!!!! Women aren't all some 5ft 4in homogenous group!!!! True statements, but they completely miss the point of the discussion. We are talking about trends within a group.

Similarly, look at the audience of a UFC fight and a Dog Show. One is overwhelmingly male, the other female. That doesn't mean some women don't like MMA and some guys don't like dog shows, but if you are going to write a story to appeal to a female audience, centering it around a dog show is probably your best bet.

Women:

18.4%? Not from my perspective. Must be a lot of zero percenters out there blowing the curve.

I never trust statistics compiled from self reporting. Some of the 80.6% may interpret the question as asking if they always orgasm during penetrative sex, some may not recognize that are having orgasms, some may be lying because "good girls don't do that."

If the main part of the clitoris was located inside the vagina, say, instead of where it is, or if men reached orgasm only 18.4% of the time during penetrative sex, then I'm sure the world would be a very different place indeed.

And that's an area where I have to sit on my hands because the wealth of my experience is with 2 women who could (and one of those faster than I would have liked). If I drew those two women at random there's a 3.4% chance of that happening. But there's some bias (survivor?) going on there for sure, and I can't really speak to the experience of others. So I just listen and take notes in case it happens to me, or someone is dumb enough to ask me for advice. It does help though if you have nimble fingers and you find the g-spot all on your own at an early age... "Science! It works, bitches!"

What I can say with authority is that I'm not writing PIV-dominated sex scenes. I'm not an idiot, nor do I want to be surrounded by them. Bingeing 4 months of LS cured me of that if nothing else did, but which is the chicken and which is the egg there?

If the author writes about two human beings who act like human beings, it is necessarily human-centric, and if any female is included, it will also be female-centric. Treat your characters like human beings.

I still have five stories in pending purgatory, two are the canary in the coal mine stories in order to test my theory about a database flag not always getting released after a rejection of any kind. So nothing these anonymous humans can throw at me would stick. I just consider the source and now I know that only one out of every five or six times they engage in PIV sex they have an orgasm. And that's sad, so I'll let them be mean girls. I would be mean too if I only orgasmed once out of every five or six times I've had sex

I think it's actually worse than that. I think, at least based on earlier conversations I've heard, which may in fact be completely different studies with different or broken criteria, that those numbers aren't samples by event but by person. Some women almost never do. So like once every couple years instead of once a month.

I do believe the female masterbation stat is probably correct. All of my lesbian friends as well as myself have never not had an orgasm with our partner, so we are batting 100%

5 in pending? That's just sad and if it were a business run like one, it would be seen as unacceptable. But it never has been or will be.

As for the 1 in 5 deal. well, when maybe one out of five men these days is good for something besides crying and playing victim, the odds are not in a straight woman's favor.

I can't imagine the women in any of those scenarios only orgasming once out of every five or six attempts. Probably submissive straight women are the worst off when it comes to orgasms

What you are referencing is majority rule; if 9 out of every 10 are a certain thing you can say "Most X are X" and be right in not just a general way but a provable and accurate one.

The issue is as a society pushed by ideological narratives, it's the small outlier of any group who is handed the biggest stake in anything because they must be heard or else!
