I participate in a fandom group using a different name. It's interesting seeing a strong element of the fandom criticizing a particular creator because they don't see how the Good Guys can get out of a predicament, in the middle book of a series. It's the middle book! The Good Guys are always in trouble in the middle book!

I had once had a comment on a story which said (in all caps): "EAT SHIT AND DIE!"

So, I'd place that below a 1-star.

Oh for sure. In real life there is more variety than can be adequately represented in a meme. But the number of people who say "EAT SHIT AND DIE!" but rate you 2 or 3 stars is certainly nonzero!
