I'm about 13K words into my WIP, which I think will end up as three linked stories, because parts happen in parrallel time space. But i'm okay with that. I just mention it as background for my real dilemma.
I have six male characters and two females. The younger female is exploring bisex with the older woman, after scenes of goup sex involving the older woman with five guys parallelling seperate scenes of her son being deflowered by the younger woman.
Now I have the lesbian scene, and the son will experience anal sex with his lover.
But so far the other five guys are hanging around.
Someone in a DM proposed that I have the young woman insist that if her lover gets her ass, he should have one of his buddies fuck his ass too.
I'm worried that readers will find that out of place in a story not in the Gay Sex category. Plus I'm not a big gay sex guy myself, so uncertain about writing it.
Another option I am considering though is having a couple of the onlookers give each other handjobs while they watch.

Will readers punish me for mixng gay sex with straight sex?
Am I being unreasonable allowing my squeamishness about writing gay sex get in the way?

Probably.

But The Real Men of Lit will read the chapter twice, to make sure they didn't like it the first time, so your View count will go up, while the score will go down. Take your pick.
Am I being unreasonable allowing my squeamishness about writing gay sex get in the way?
Probably. If you're not convinced, no-one else will be, and the depiction of man-on-man sex will either be coy, or lame. Again, take your pick.

As a general observation about writing anything, if you're not convinced, why bother?

I have to wonder if there's anyplace on Lit you could put that story without repercussions. The guy that suggested it might be the only one who likes it.

But as always, you gotta use your own judgement.

... the men do something the author would enjoy.

Jerk off on her body, get handjobs, suck her nipples, grab beers and shout encouragement like this was a sports event, lick her, spitroast one or both of them... You've got options.

There will be a small but happy audience for such things, and a larger audience who will have to insist how much their enjoyment was ruined by having to read the story twice to confirm it was as shocking as they thought. And a bunch who will just quietly click away - no idea whether they are the largest contingent or not.

The one thing I know is you will get paid the same either way, so if you want to try writing some gay sex, go for it, but if you want them treating it like the front row of the cinema, including popcorn, that could also work.

First, never push yourself to write something you'd rather not just to add something in

Second, there is the age old double standard that two women together doesn't put many people off but two men-outside of GM-is a recipe for disaster and invitation for trolling from alpha males.

If you do feel compelled to write it, brace yourself.

I already surrendered to the compulsion. My armour has a heat resistant lining.
I survived the reaction to Mom's New Cock, a gayish story in the Taboo/Incest category, so figure I will survive this.

Have also included some incidental male on male contact in threesomes before, but in this wIP, it is explicit and sprawls through about 850 words, mixed in with some anal and lesbian action. znothing incidental about it. Just seemed natural that the onlookers would help each other out rather than just jerk themselves off watching the main action. Having crossed the rubicon in Mom's New Cock, I figured "why not?". Since "homophobia" was the only response, and is unacceptable, I went with it.

ETA: by the way, Mom's New Cock, despite its oddness, lingers just a vote or two below 4.00. It would e temendously pleasing to see a weird experimental adventure like that pass over that barrier. so if anybody is so inclined...

The first chapter of this effort is published: Pool Party Prize Ch.1 ( in Group Sex). The interquel and sequel are completed and pending. They are approved and ought to be available the next two days. The gay sex does not surface until Chapter 2, which is the third party. It may be foreshadowed earlier. Anyway, if interested in how the gay sex element works in context, you might want to start at the beginning, though I tried to write it so tht each submission can be read freestanding.

Would be interested in constructive comments on how the mixing of genres worked out. I know it's not perfect, but it was someting different for me to try.

Good luck with your project. I think you have handled it well thus far.

In my case, I have yet to publish explicit gay male sexual content here. It doesn’t appeal to me erotically (I’m straight, deal with it), and that gets in the way of me writing it even though I can do similar things such as lesbian sexual content just fine. I did write an explicit gay story on another site, but it was not well received there and I do not wish to publish it here for fear of further negative reviews. I can and do have gay and bisexual male characters- but their sexual content with each other beyond brief kissing and fist bumps have yet to appear onscreen as far as Lit is concerned. There are some friendships between them and the primary straight male protagonist (Doug jokes around with Boris, acknowledges Clarke’s voyeur enjoyment of their threesomes with the same woman even while they have no direct sexual relations with each other, gets along ok with Del, works with Asher as an employer, accepts all their assistance with fights against bad guys and similar situations, but won’t have sex with them) but it stops at platonic. My bisexual borderline nympho female lead Lisa has a similar platonic relationship with Charlize Theron after she helps settle the latter’s lesbian curiosity and Charlize decides to be straight. Lisa doesn’t entirely understand or appreciate the situation between them, but she’s willing and able to maintain a platonic relationship. Same for Doug with his gay and bisexual male friends. Meanwhile said friends have their own relationships that mostly exist offscreen and readers can speculate with some canon acknowledgements (yes, Boris and Del are still occasional lovers even after Boris starts dating and later marries Elena- she enjoys watching her husband have gay sex and they have had threesomes with Del since he is bi even though he leans towards males, but I’m not depicting anything explicit) and I will probably leave it at that. Hope the fans are okay with this.

I’m not necessarily endorsing this approach to the issue. It’s what works for me. You should do what works for you and your stories.

I'm not afraid to have fun, or to experiment. Being a "pantser", I tend to just go with the flow of where the story takes me. In this story, I had four guys standing around watching the main trio have an odd sort of threesome. Figured I had to do somethingwith them. It starts with them doing what comes natural and playing with their own cocks. I almost just left it there, but it seemed to me that there were latent gay vibes to explore. Partly because as teammates, they are used to physical contact, but to date, had suppressed any curiosity about taking it further. It only takes one to get the rest to cross that Rubicon.

At the risk of repeating what I think I posted previously, this is not totally my first time writing male on male. Not that long ago, i wrote an experimental one scene piece where Mom has had sex change surgery and son, with Dad's encouragement, sucks Mom's New Cock. Previously, I've included incidental male on male contact in threesomes or group, but not this explicitly or as focused. Though if i recall correctly, a few, in particular my She-Male Babysitter piece, are more explicit. So not that big a jump for me.

My big concern was reader expectations in the context of this group sex story which for th first 15K words is mainly focused on the FMC main character pulling a train, though 5K of that is a hetro interquel where another female deflowers the FMC''s son in another room. The gay sex happens in the third chapter, where the other woman and the FMC start a lesbian interlude, son learns about anal fucking the other woman (skirting around incest there). That's where i asked myself "what about the others?"
Not everbody will like my answer.

[nods] Like I said, do what works for you.
To a point. no reason to walk into a spinning propellor blade without warning, which was why I started the thread- to learn from the experience of others.

For example in another genre, an instinctively non monogamous sharer like me doesn't now that LW is a cesspool until you swallow the mouthful of shit, unless you check out the threads here.

I still went ahead and had fun with Not Another Loving Wives Tale!, but tailored my expectations accordingly. Was still a bit amazed that some people just have NO sense of humour. The description line warned the that it was different... oh. well. As I've posted elsewhere, it is my most commented story, and eased me into TM stories, one of which is one of my most popular stories. That in turn eases me into trying my hand at an anthro story, my current WiP.

Yeah, I jumped in the LW pool a while back. Punched a few sharks, glad I got out when I did, not planning to go back. Even forewarned, it was not a great experience.

I have yet to feature trans characters in my works beyond the crazy immortal faerie alien hybrid who can change gender with magic. Other trans characters exist, but I have yet to address them in detail. Perhaps I will someday, I have yet to decide. What’s holding me back? Mostly the desire to do it positively and not just sexualize it (people deserve more respect than mere fetishization, no matter their sexuality) and difficulty in writing that when the issue is hard for me to understand. Studying the memoirs of trans celebrities like Congressperson Sarah McBride and thespian Elliot Page has not helped. Nor has reading a few trans stories on Lit which appeal to me. Perhaps I will never be fully comfortable with the issue enough to confidently write about it.

If you can address it positively and as more than just sexualization, best of luck.

Many years ago, back at the start of my 20's I was introduced to group sex. Whilst I enjoyed the interchange of partners, I really loved the way partner swapping was not exclusively between opposite sexes. Guys would amuse themselves with another guy then go on to fuck a woman. Equally the women had fun together and with men.

I have a trans daughter, so have incentive to observe.

[I have a trans daughter.]
Yeah, that’s good incentive to expand your understanding. I don’t know any trans people personally, I had a kidding acquaintance once but that was over a decade ago and I never even learned their preferred pronouns or name. They left our mutual workplace before I could get to know them as more than a recurring face in the hall. I know I never really wanted to get close to or understand gay or bisexual people until my gay stepbrother and bisexual crush informed me of their orientations in my teenage years thirty years ago. I wanted friendship with them both, and more from the crush, so I had incentive to treat them as more than “the other”. That’s often necessary in situations like we’re discussing here.

[Group sex]
The group sex I’ve had IRL is like that in my stories. MFF or MFM, nothing with direct MM contact. I don’t think I would enjoy direct MM contact personally. Not disparaging anyone who has, just stating my opinion.

Just a brief update. The chapter of my series with the gay sex segment publishs Monday. It is not absolutely necessary to read the interquel first, but that may make the experience richer. That chapter was published today.

As my wind-up contribution to this debate, is any male man who ever buggered a woman guilty of hypocrisy or worse if they condemn homosexual sex (especially if it is only oral or hands)?
Similarly, intellectually, why is oral sex man-on-man more disgusting than woman-on-man? Am I wrong in thinking that man-on-woman oral sex is not a target of abuse?
On a less confrontational level. Two of my recurring characters are men who enjoy threesomes and make sure the woman enjoys herself before they really let rip. I write it so that they are aware that, inevitably, their bodies will touch, but that's not a problem because they trust each other.

Non-erotic is probably the only place on Lit where you can put your story without repercussions.

But there, you might get repercussions from readers who think it is not non-erotic...
you can't please everybody
I think most people know what the definition of non erotic is, only a fool would put something erotic in a non erotic section - a subcategory of erotica just like fetish/kink subcategories. FWIW, IMO Non erotic should be a category of its own just like Erotica is
