I've observed several milquetoast individuals who are probably shy, meek, or unassertive in face-to-face interactions but online adopt a much bolder and more aggressive persona. Black Lives Matter (BLM) urged the Democratic National Committee (DNC) to organize a nationwide virtual primary on Tuesday after Vice President Kamala Harris reportedly secured enough delegates for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Harris claimed early Tuesday morning that she had obtained enough support from DNC delegates to be voted the party’s presidential nominee, following President Joe Biden stepping down from the race and endorsing Harris. BLM, which exploded in prominence following the death of George Floyd in 2020, said in a statement that while President Joe Biden wasn’t their top choice as a candidate, they cannot overlook the concerning actions taken by the Democratic Party in not holding a new primary election after the president dropped out of the race.

That was more reassuring when judges used to base rulings on Constitutional precedent. Now judges are increasingly partisan and rule based on self-interest and ideology.

Whether you like the outcome or not, that's how things work. You can't force the outcome and the past choices we made as a country led to the current court makeup.

I'd say the best approach forward might be term limits if this is to be changed, but that's not easy either. You have to put in the work and so do others.

I agree with this. If term limits were implemented we’d be better off and our politicians would more reflect the will of the people in my opinion.

It would have to be staggered in implementation though. Everyone elected now would be grandfathered, else they’ll never vote themselves out of a job. At some predetermined point in time, Senate gets 16-20 yrs, then after 20 some years roll that back to 12. Congress would be 10-12 yrs then rolled back to maybe 6-8, so 3-4 election cycles. President would stay at two terms. BTW…those numbers are roughly the average length of time most of congress serves.

Maybe not the best idea, but something along those lines.

Reed Hastings (Netflix) donates $7m to PAC

According to the report, Hastings was encouraged to make a donation to the PAC by venture capitalist and Democratic donor Reid Hoffman, cofounder of LinkedIn.

Do you feel this groundswell of support is pure happiness over the pick of Harris or just that Biden dropped out? OMG did a little reporting on this yesterday. Seems ActBlue is laundering money in peoples names who have donated to them in the past. One lady would have had to donate some amount three times every day for X-amount of days to even match the total. Wonder if the FEC will get involved?
