Have to vent about problems with Lit approval process and their shockingly inaccurate interpretations of content!!!

I have to preface this by saying that overall, I think that the mods who review and approve stories on Lit do a good job. I also realize that they have a hard, thankless task with all the submissions that are posted to the site on a daily basis. In addition, I realize that a majority of my previous rejections have been entirely my fault and own up to my own failures.

But, I have to state that I found a recent rejection of one of my submissions to be so totally off the mark that I have to question if the mod was reading a completely different story or putting their own thoughts into it that had them wrongly interpret what I had written!

Just to sum up my issue, I submitted a story that was not violent, did not contain non/con depictions, or anything written that could be interpreted as blackmail/objectionable content. It was rather a humorous take on a subject I had covered and gotten approved in prior stories. The only thing I can think they flagged was that I mentioned the story was in tribute to an actress that had tragically passed away recently. Agree with the first rejection that said I needed to put it into a different category, but follow-up rejection cited rejection for previously listed issues that were not there. Know I will get push back from naysayers, but just wrote this to mainly get my frustration off my chest. Rant finished and mission accomplished.

There is only one person approving stories, and I'm guessing she has a lot of scripts/tools to flag up potential problems. As such, sometimes terrible content escapes her notice and gets published, and sometimes perfectly fine content is sent back. Sometimes, resubmitting with a polite note to the editor is all that is needed.

Yes, get that she is busy and overworked but the lack of comprehension of my story was baffling. Silver lining, resubmitted with such content excluded with polite note for her to re-consider my story.

If you could remove content to fix it, you obviously know why it was rejected.

Also, it's contra to Lit policy to depict Non-con with a celebrity, regardless whether she's alive or dead.

Who is that, precisely, and how do you know this for a fact? Why have a site with such a bottleneck, what's the point? I empathize with JaxJack that the mods do a rotten job. They were not selected for impartiality or integrity, that's for sure.

Rude post removed by mod.

There's a secret council of Lit authors who control everything, don't worry.

Wish I could understand what's going on with one of my stories which seems to be the subject of a concerted one-bomb campaign. First published last August, it garnered lots of good ratings and trundled along smoothly until about a month ago, when the one-bombers came in for a run. As the vote numbers have gone down and the overall score has gone up I think the sweeps have removed some low ballers, but it's hard to work out which.
There's a sequel which hasn't (yet) received the same level of opprobrium. I guess if you read all eight pages and hated it then why would you subject yourself to another eight pages of the same?

What category is it in, and did it have a very high score? Writers are reporting targeted bombing against many of high-scoring stories in Lesbian, TG&CD and I think Romance as well. Maybe some other categories too. From what I recall, it started about six months ago.

It was in SF & Fantasy and prior to about a month ago was polling at 4.84 on 162 votes. It was driven down to 4.61 and as of this morning has recovered a bit
