How To create an amazing Match.com profile...

Right. So. Really I am wondering how to go about making my match.com profile more appealing... it is under Lovely_Defect (my profile name) so if anyone could check it out and critique my photos/descriptions... I would appreciate opinions and advice on how to make the presentation better .

Also, anyone had any measure of luck with match.com or another dating service? I always look forward to everyone's stories . Haven't been on much lately and am missing it...

Well, here's my critique. You're very cute and I liked the pictures you chose. They're kind of casually sexy, not trashy. I liked what I read too. The only thing I might give some second thought to is the second paragraph of About me and who I'd like to meet. It might cause some people to see you as very clingy or dependent.

Well, I am clingy, lol. That really is something to be expected from me, I like to constantly be held and coddled. I am very independent though so I may need to reword it a little... I do need to update that section though, definitely... my boyfriend doesn't like it, can't imagine why .

I'm moreso just looking for nonsexual friends... unless my boyfriend and I breakup this Sunday... in which case I'm just leaving it that way. ::sigh:: My Troublesome Life.

Your profile is rather nice, you have lovely eyes... on average, I get about nine e-mails a day from match members and about fifteen winks (yes, I actually have been keeping averages, lol, as a sort of experiment I suppose...). I get some strange mail though... some forty year old guy sends me a couple messages a day begging to meet up somewhere ... and guys send me their phone numbers all the time. My lover (mrblond24) hasn't gotten any mail or winks in months... I guess that's why I'm doing this. To kind of rub it in his face. Healthy relationship, huh? Very long story, that. I feel like he's constantly on a quest to cheat on me...

The lawyer in question is Lawerence Lessig who is a professor of intellectual property law at Stanford Law School. He also is part of the EFF, who is fighting for computer rights.

Mr. Lessig also has a stunning presentation called Free Culture about how our rights as Americans are being lost to copyright holders. You really must see this.

As far the book "As for me, I am a cat." That is a book that was written in the 1880s by a guy named Natsume Soseki. He's quite popular because he brought modren writing (Dailog, paragraphs, etc) to Japan in the late 1800s. He's so popular infact he's on the 1000 yen bill


The story is about the Meiji reconstuction through the eyes of a cat. This period of time, Japan was turning from the era of the Samurai to the era of industrialism. It's very fun to read as a forginer as you can see Japan during this time from "outside eyes"

It also has a very suprise ending that is refected in Japanese storytellnig to this day. I won't spoil it for you.

You can pick up english version of the book too. It commonly called "I am a cat", but I don't like it as the original title, "Whagahai ga neko de aru" sounds more snobby. You know, like how cats useally act.

I think I will try to find a copy of that book... in English, of course. I'm majoring in English and I speak a bit of broken beginners Spanish so I don't think the Japanese version and I would get along too well, lol. Calm down, my friend, lol. Chris and I have been together for almost fifteen months (since we got back together after our last twenty-three day break ) and I would like to work out our problems and stay together for many more months. He has problems, I have problems... he has some commitment issues... I am very angry and hurt right now, but it all comes down to one point: I want to be with him. I love him... no one can understand why, but that isn't important. I know why I love him so that is all that counts. If we do really break up this Sunday I am going to be completely crushed and need you though, M... so please stick with me here...

AND, of course you shouldn't worry too much about what your BF thinks or does because you are looking for someone else anyway, right? Why else would you have an ad in Match.com? You are looking for someone better, and probably SHOULD keep looking if that's how you feel.
You might change your name to something more positive and work on your self esteem. Calling yourself defective is not good. Let the defects come out slowly, then you can talk about them. Of course you ARE very pretty, and those lips (#7) are luscious! Between those and your AV pics it makes me wonder why you aren't deluged with offers from nice guys.

Honestly... this is kind of sad... but I recently updated my match.com profile just because my boyfriend updated his and has an interest in dating other girls. I do get several doting offers from men on match each day... and it's kind of like me saying to my boyfriend, "Look! Other men want me! Why am I not good enough for you??" I'm beginning to think that I should just take the plunge and move on without him though. I can't take his constant mood swings and hurting me. He promised that he would call me either today or yesterday... to tell me if he's coming over tomorrow night (so we can discuss whether or not we're finally breaking up)... and he hasn't even called. I guess that sums up how important I am to him.

I love the name Lovely_Defect... it's more about me realizing that I am a lovely person... but we still all have flaws... sometimes beautiful flaws.

Well, we broke up last night. Against all of my pleadings... he was very mean to me and crushed... well... everything. I just feel destroyed right now. He wouldn't even come to see me, he broke up with me on the damn phone because he's 'too weak' to see me right now and not want me. Everything. He never makes any sense. I want to die. God. I just wish that I could stop crying for over fifteen minutes. He acted like he was doing me some huge favor by even talking to me on the phone and saying that he was 'trying to be my friend'... I'm so crushed.
