Hi all.
I'm not sure where the right place to post this is, but it's more of a political slant.

Just to preface, I'm not from the USA. I don't know the US politics that well. I like to base my stories close to reality, and writing about characters and situations in the USA seems to be more interesting than writing about my own country.
I understand that many an author just makes shit up to suit their story needs. New laws that allow nudity? Yeah, whatever! No need for exposition! We allow students to be punished by making them nude! Sure! Who cares that this wouldn't work in reality? Readers won't care because it's erotic!

But how close is reality to this fiction? The laws and policies have shifted substantially, and plenty of people see parallels to Margaret Atwood's novel, The Handmaid's Tale.

Onto the background of the question.
(A lot of this information I sourced from CoPilot AI.)

The First Amendment to the Constitution, which guarantees both the free exercise of religion and the prohibition of government establishment of religion.
which includes: Free Exercise Clause: This clause allows individuals to practice their religion freely without government interference, as long as it does not violate public morals, laws, or safety.

In the United States, the protections for religious freedom ensure that individuals have the right to wear clothing that pertains to their religion.

(Now, there are a lot of things about where you can go, like in public, which is almost anywhere. AND there is a potential conflict with State and County laws, which would need a Federal court to rule over.)

Now to the hypothetical story question.
How would you go about having the current POTUS (knowing whatever you know about his personality), go about making Executive Orders that either allow an individual to be allowed to be naked all the time in public?
This could be framed as accepting nudism or naturism to be recognized as a legitimate religion, but this would be a large group of people, not an individual.
Would your individual be consensual? (you can choose.)
How hard would it be for the POTUS to do this for real?

Zoemi.
The President can issue all the executive orders he wants, but if the people don't like they, they'll ignore them. If Donald Trump issued an executive order saying it's legal to walk around naked, the police would ignore it. If someone gets arrested for public nudity, they could appeal, but it takes a long time for things to work through the courts, and Trump would be out of office long before the case would be settled.
