we are in agreement - I think those stories are important to tell to help others know they are not alone.

I was a bit taken aback at how much sadness that story unsurfaced here in my little world - but it is only a passing sadness. Finding some music from my childhood is helping - so use caution when clicking any links I might offer.

Ohh Neon they are beautiful , thank you We had old fashioned roses like that growing in two places at our property in the Southern Highlands . The entrance to the formal rose garden and my personal favorite ...........over the chook shed. I swear those were the most indulged chickens . Fresh vegetables , lofty perches, scenic outlook and the gold sign I made for them that said 'Eggs R Us'. Fun times , the easter bunny trail always ended there. After trails of tiny eggs over acres of gardens one large one sitting in straw in the hen house. My cat used to follow us as we did it , pouncing out of foliage then 'trotting' behind in part. It was such a lovely time for us. I remember all to well the perfume from those roses growing over the roof. I don't think chickens smell , such a shame they may have liked it even more.

It was pretty good untill moments like when a log rolls off a fire and burns the carpet or a neighbour's dog gets in and rips those same chickens apart. Living in the country is wonderful but it has a different version of brutality to the city.
