Wow....

I am just now going through the, over 300 shots from last night!

I really don't know what they will think of me, but some of them really blow me away. Some of them remind me I really need to get my ass back in the gym!

I'll go through all of my first picks, and then narrow those down to the 100, or so, shots I am going to send to them, and then I'll post a few here for you guys to see. Besides, if it weren't for this site and all of your encouragement, I am sure I would never have done this!

Well I've been busy busy busy!

A good friend is getting married next month, and so I have been incredibly preoccupied, helping her out with all the little things that so often seem to come right on down to the wire!

I picked out 75 out of the 360 and I was initially going to narrow it down again, but now I'm not so sure. They like between 50-70 and so who knows...

Anyway, I'll go through the ones that were not chosen and pull a few out so that you can give me your honest opinion on whether you think these have the SG feel, or if I should go back to the drawing board.

Honest opinions..... ok here goes.

for #1 you have a kind of street urchin grown up look. Hip, urban, with a touch of wariness and disengagement. Not quite the confidence and sultry air you project in some others but a nice shot.

#2 Some slight fear or hesitancy in your look. Granted its appealing to dark sinister weirdos like me, but I'm a fringe element in that case.

#3 Mmmmm love that smile! best of the lot in my opinion.

#4 to me this is #1 done better. I can see your poetry going well with this one, based on the struggles of life, overcoming and surviving, etc. The open black space to the left begs for something though, words or a contrasting figure, something.

#5 the legs are too far into the shadows to give it the "on all fours" look, and your pale skin on deep black makes it look as if you are disembodied cleavage and upperbody. Might make for an interesting halloween starter but other than that, not so hot (I never thought those words would come out of my mouth in regards to your work)

Well I am now home
It was FREEZING cold in South Carolina, and believe it or not, way up here in the very north, it's warmer!

So...needless to say I wasn't too upset to come home.

AND...I purchased a Canon Digital Rebel yesterday.
Now I just need to figure out how one manhandles $1100 worth of muscle!

If you want honestly critical. I don't like the first one because of the extreme angle of your face, too much emphasis on one side. Number 2 is good. Number 3 is also good, but I think the lighting could have been a little better. Number 4 just needs to be cropped. Number 5 I like the pose. You looking away almost gives the looker permission to stare at that fantastic cleavage. I would play around with that pose and try a few more shots.

Honestly speaking, 3 and 4 are my favorites. I thought that 5, though cute, made you look a little bit chubby. I didn't really care for 1 or 2 all that much.

Regardless of all that, though, you are as precious as ever and the quality and artistic nature of your pictures is as always top notch.

I like #4 the best. I really think that you need to lighten up the background some. The dark background makes you blend in and loses the edges of you. I think a lighter shade of black, tending toward grey would be better.

The pictures have some of the feel for the public photos from the SG website, but the backgrounds on them are lighter, allowing the women to stand out from them. A short focal length will allow you to stay in focus, and allow the background to blur.

If you want to stay with the black background, try a wash light shining on the background (low wattage bulb) to separate you from the background.

1. Keep in mind this is the opinion of a newbie in the photography world. But i think you should hear opinions from everyone. So, i like the position ur in the first one, but i think ur eyes are way to redish/dark. There should be a bit more lighting there. But your face is gourgeous.

2. on the second one i dont really like how ur on center of the shot. Maybe if you were on one side with your eyes looking to the other side it would turn out better. Again, your face is kinda dark. Is that lighting or was your skin peeling off? (maybe due to sunburn?) I like the way you stare at the camera, your eyes are very impressive. Maybe putting both hands behind your back, and sticking your chest out a bit.

3. Very naughty look, i love the pic. Wouldnt change anything. Something i would try if i could, would be tilting the camera to the right, so that the top line of the picture would be somewhat parallel to your shoulder. I've done that a couple of times and it turned out cool.

4. Nice picture for SG. I've admired their work for a while now and i just love this picture. Wow is the best i can muster about this picture.

5. Again, a picture i love. Very simple , but at the same time powerfull. I love your perky nose, it's very cute.

I used to use a Sony PSC-71.
These were all shot with my Canon Digital Rebel. The main filter I use is a five point star, but you can't see that on any of the shots I took except for a few with candles. It sends a nice star off of any direct light source. Hope that helps a bit

Wow...your guys' response is a lot more specific than I was looking for.
I wanted you to look at the images as a collective whole and look at the mood and feeling and see if you thought that that was one that would mesh well with SG. Again, these are photos that I had no connection or any sort of preference for, so they aren't going to have the passion that most of mine do. I cannot put shots that I send to them on any website, so therefore this are the ones that are lying on my cutting room floor.

Great photos...but if you want to get picky - the first three there is to much of a contrast between your face color and your body color. Not sure if you were out in the sun with clothes on or if its just to much makeup...but you are beautiful either way.

What you are seeing is the immense amounts of blush that I have on. If you look closer, the only color change is in the cheek bone area I will be sure to take that into consideration though, for the future!

Hey Dia, I'm not familiar with SG pics at all so I can't really give you any tips or suggestions on how to make them better but I just wanted to say that if these are what landed on the cutting room floor then the pics that will be used must be amazing. You're easilly one of the most gorgeous women on this site, though I've told you that before and you've heard it numerous times from other people here. I wonder if it's starting to lose meaning now as a result.
