Impeachment not going so well?

When the constitution was written, the US had not written a criminal code and therefore stated, high crimes and misdemeanors. Big stuff and small stuff

The Constitution is intentionally vague about what is impeachable. Ultimately it's up to the House, and they say it is.

No, the constitution specifically states high crimes and misdemeanors, the house Dems are being intentionally stupid and will lose the case for lack of a criminal violation and proper preparation. Like the saying goes, you can indict a ham sandwich convicting one is a different story.

It’s within the president’s authority to redirect military funds for border security.

No, the constitution specifically states high crimes and misdemeanors,

That "specific" phrase is vague, and intentionally so, as I said. That's why it also mentions treason and bribery by name: the framers wanted to be sure those two crimes were included under the banner of "high crimes and misdemeanors", which is otherwise open to interpretation.

It’s within the president’s authority to redirect military funds for border security.

That's got nothing to do with what Trump did.

Everybody already AGREES that there's NO WAY a liar like Adam Schiff is going to persuade any Republican U.S. Senators to buy into his clown-show of an impeachment trial to remove President Trump from office! He's not even going to get Mitt Romney's vote!

Impeachment is 100% guaranteed to fail, which is what happens when ONLY Democrats buy into it! This is our nation's first-ever COMPLETELY PARTISAN impeachment effort, with ZERO members of the opposing party signing on - it's nothing more than an enormous waste of time & money!

But OPPOSITION to removing the president from office IS bipartisan! This whole sordid episode has already cost Nancy Pelosi one of her House members, who switched parties and became a Republican! Meanwhile, in the U.S. Senate, THREE Democrats: Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona, and Doug Jones of Alabama are currently undecided as to whether to vote with their party or abandon them! I'm guessing it'll be the latter!

primarily the ICA nor is it impeachable.

And where in the Constitution does it say that? I'll wait while you go get bot's copy of "The Constitution for Dumb, Racist Fucks."

And isn't building a border wall ALSO for that exact same purpose, Dan?

I always assumed the border was to be used to make sure innocent people escaping violence died in Mexico and not in US detention centers for seeking a legal remedy to their plight.

But then again you're the one who supports the anti-Semitic baby murdered so you tell me, racist.

It's against the law to cross a nation's borders illegally, Dan - pretty much everywhere on Earth!

In the nation of Iran (that Democrats like & admire), and American couple that hiked across that border by accident was thrown in prison and sentenced for thirty-years! I applaud President Trump for ordering hellfire missiles fired at Iranian General Qassem Soleimani! That guy was a terrorist P.O.S.

As for escaping violence, people living in Democratic-Party-controlled Chicago regularly face far more violence than do those people living in Mexico - to where are THEY supposed to escape? Perhaps, if they vote for Democrats, they should try moving to Mexico?

"But then again you're the one who supports the anti-Semitic baby murdered so you tell me, racist."

The baby-murderers at Planned Parenthood pretty much OWN the modern Democratic Party, Dan! Meanwhile, our President Trump is one of the greatest pro-Israeli presidents that the U.S.A. has ever had! I'm surprised that YOU are actually acknowledging this - I thought that you hated Trump and supported Planned Parenthood!

In addition to winning in the U.S. Senate's impeachment trial this week, President Trump can ALSO be comforted by THIS unpleasant bit of news, as reported by A.B. Stoddard at RealClearPolitics.com:

Hey Democrats! Hillary Wants a Starring Role

A divided Democratic Party, united only in a quest to defeat President Trump this year, is stretched to breaking over fault lines of young and old, liberal and moderate, persuaders and mobilizers, stabilizers and revolutionaries. About the last thing they need now is another Hillary Clinton revival tour -- but here it comes.

As the first votes in the nominating contest are set to be cast in just days, and barring a sweep by former Vice President Joe Biden, a protracted contest between the progressive and centrist candidates could drag out through February, to Super Tuesday, March 3, and even late into that month as delegates potentially pile up for several candidates.

Cue March 6th - and the beginning of Hillary Clinton's four-hour docu-series on Hulu!

She will be seeking press attention upon its airing, of course, but has already upset the establishment by attacking Bernie Sanders: “Nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him, he got nothing done. He was a career politician. It’s all just baloney and I feel so bad that people got sucked into it.” She then hedged when asked by the Hollywood Reporter whether she would endorse Sanders as the nominee should he prevail.

When asked if she will support Sanders, Hillary replied: “I’m not going to go there yet!"

For a while after the 2016 election, there were long breaks when we didn’t hear from Clinton. She was grieving, raging, whatever those five stages of electoral defeat are that one must journey through. But she’s healed and liberated and energized now, downright perky in fact, and is eager to rejoin the community of newsmakers. No matter that many Democrats aren’t over their grief, and still blame her for Trump - she’s out of her shell and truly enjoying it.

While Democrats know Clinton’s thirst for relevance renders Trump and his voters euphoric, she remains entirely unaware. And given her mockery of Trump’s tweets, it’s ironic that on Jan. 8, with the nation panicked because Trump had taken us to the brink of war with Iran, she tweeted a GIF of herself under the hashtag #ivotedforHillaryClinton.

Democrat presidential candidates are hoping that Hillary will contain her urges to compare herself with the nominee they pick in July, and refrain from such comments until at least after November. As they take on a much stronger Trump than she did, they would like 2020 to be as free of the stench of her 2016 defeat as possible. Clinton may not allow it.

That's all true, Dan - the Democratic Party sold its collective soul to Planned Parenthood decades ago, and that's one of the reasons why that party is in such an enormous hurry to get rid of President Trump! It's only a matter of time now before this president picks another U.S. Supreme Court justice, possibly to replace Ruth Bader-Ginsburg!

"Is Justice Ruth Bader-Ginsburg a baby killer?"

Justice Ginsburg was put on the U.S. Supreme Court by Bill Clinton, so OF COURSE she supports abortion! EVERY justice appointed to our nation's highest court by either Clinton or Obama was approved beforehand by the folks at Planned Parenthood!

But Donald Trump doesn't take orders from Planned Parenthood, and the Democrats KNOW IT, which goes a long ways towards explaining WHY that party so foolishly passed two articles of impeachment in the House of Representatives WITHOUT enough evidence or witnesses to make it stick in the U.S. Senate! The upcoming vote will be to ACQUIT, and the Democratic Party & its Planned Parenthood allies will explode with anger, rage, hatred, & frustration! Watch & see...

Trump’s acquittal is all but guaranteed.

Conviction on either of the two articles of impeachment requires 67 votes. Republicans control 53 votes and most (if not ALL) are expected to vote against removing the president from office.

Deputy White House counsel Patrick Philbin argued that the House managers presented a case that stemmed from “a half baked, slap-dash process” that fell far short of proving impeachable offenses. He pointed out that the House impeachment investigation included 17 witnesses whose testimony was provided to the Senate, as well as 28,000 pages of documents. “We heard from a lot of witnesses in the proceedings so far,” Philbin said. “You’ve got all of those transcripts, so you can see those witnesses’ testimony there. You’ve got a lot of evidence already.”

Senate Democrats are now formulating motions that could extend the trial, including a call for open deliberations that provide senators with 10 minutes each to offer a statement about the case. Republican Senators have argued that the charges brought against the president were partisan and stemmed from the Democrats’ disapproval of both the president and his agenda.

The Democrats would never stop,” Rep. Jim Jordan, an Ohio Republican and a member of Trump’s defense team, said Friday. “They want endless witnesses because they want to keep going after this president.

Patricia McCarthy posted some excellent observations on the American Thinker web-site:

Media puffery can’t hide the Democrats’ impeachment face plant!

On Thursday night, after the impeachment hearings had ended, the headline column at Politico was "How Trump's impeachment created two Democratic Superstars" by Jake Sherman and Heather Caygle, with the authors waxing rhapsodic about Adam Schiff and Hakeem Jeffries! The column then disappeared into the nether regions of the site after someone at Politico thought better of heralding the two men who made the biggest fools of themselves over the past week.

Schiff cannot utter a single sentence that doesn't contain a lie. Jeffries' most hilarious assertion was that the Steele dossier, the entirety of which has been proven to be all lies, was just fine because it was "purchased!" They are trying to impeach the President for allegedly asking the new President of Ukraine to look into the known corruption of the Biden family and the proven interference by some in Ukraine in our 2016 election to help Hillary, and Jeffries is dismissing the Clinton campaign's actual solicitation of dirt from a foreign source because she paid for it? You can't make this stuff up.

According to the column, Schiff has his eye on Feinstein's Senate seat and Jeffries wants to be Speaker of the House. Be afraid, Steny Hoyer! Be very afraid! The authors note how the two men have been "lavished with praise" for their role in this unsuccessful farce. Their articles contain no mention of anything impeachable. It's just the most recent failed attempt to get Trump removed.

The column's authors, Sherman and Caygle, never avail themselves of an opposing view or go to a conservative site; there are hundreds of them that could educate them about the voters who support President Trump. If they did, they would know that both men have been ridiculed by actual constitutional scholars. Hilarious memes abound across the web mocking their nonsensical arguments and their abrogation of due process and the Constitution.

Not one of the House managers displayed the knowledge and skill of the President's lawyers. Watching Schiff and his cohorts be intellectually eviscerated day after day was the amusing part, as amusing as it was maddening for the wasted time.

Consider the moment when Jay Sekulow reminded us all that Schiff had many times said the House had proved its case over and over again beyond all reasonable doubt, which Schiff admitted. Sekulow then said then there is no need for more witnesses. Schiff could not keep track of his own lies and deceptions or the words of his own witnesses taken out of context.

And Jeffries? His hours at the podium were painful for their meandering lack of clarity and relevance, as were the serpentine speechifying of Crowe, Garcia, Demings and Lofgren. And now that the vote for more witnesses has sealed the demise of the Democrats' case for impeachment; the President will be acquitted. Chances are Schiff's and Jeffries's Democrat colleagues are likely to begin saying what they really think.

Schiff hogged the microphone for the majority of the 24 hours of hearings; he loves the sound of his own voice. He thinks he is Clarence Darrow; he is not. He seemed furious that at the close of the hearings Thursday night, Nadler beat him to the podium. The Politico piece quoted Sen. Chris Murphy as saying of Schiff, "He blew our socks off." Murphy is a lawyer so he should know better. Others are not likely to be so complimentary. Their failed efforts to impeach the best president America has had in decades will be the only thing for which they are remembered. Benedict Arnold was a good soldier until he wasn't, but we only remember him for his treason.

I wouldn't be amazed if this farce pushed the voting masses to vote for candidates that aren't Dem OR Rep.

YDB95 writes: "Don't be silly. Most independents are really Republicans."

Most independents today certainly VOTE Republican!

Many Democrats in 2020 will be voting this fall for President Trump!

Most Marxist-Socialists and/or Communists in America today vote for Democrats!

Those Americans who love their country and respect the U.S. flag vote Republican!
