ok, my better half has been feeling less then 100% most of the day. Then suddenly started complaining of sever vaginal pain, to the point she cant realyl do anything because of how bad it hurts. she says she has a stomach ache and is bleeding when she urinates (which is frequently).

From what i read online it sounds like UT infection, but I cant find mention of Bleeding being associated with it. So far shes refusing to go to the Doc, if it continues though I'm going to insist.

Anyone here maybe possibly confirm what it is, or have any idea why blood is associated with it?

She needs to see a doctor. Anytime blood is present, an ER visit is required.

unfortunately I'm not actually there with her at the moment, so I can't take her. She took some kind of pain medication (against my better judgment) and is kinda out of it now. >.<

How far away are you?

Possible to call 911 and get to her?

Bleeding when you pee is definitely abnormal, why on earth would you not see a doctor about it? They will need to do a culture, and probably prescribe antibiotics. Leaving an internal infection untreated can result in dangerous fevers and possible spreading of the infection throughout the body. I'd personally go to an emergency room, as a regular family doctor is going to be slower because he doesn't have a lab on-premises.

I'm out of town right now, shes insisting shes fine.. I'm really trying to convince her not to wait but I'm not having any luck..

Does she live with her folks? Near by?

Most of us say we're doing OK even if our head has a hole in it...human nature at it's finest -- not.

I'd wake the parents. I'd rather err on the side of caution. You care about her wellbeing, right?

I hope things will be OK. :rose:

She does live with her folks, and shes more worried about them being angry for being woken then she is about the pain (bad as it sounds..yeah they would be, even for such a good reason)... I'm apparently far more concerned then she is to. she took some codein for the pain.. that shes not technically supposed to have.. and is feeling spacey from it now /sigh

I'm doing what i can but I'm not seeing her doing anything at this point till tomorrow.. and that's scaring me to be honest. >.<

That is sad.

I'd recommend not more codeine, if by some miracle she does seek medical help it can interfere with diagnosis. Many people have intolerance to codeine as well.

Good luck, I hope she'll get the help she needs.:rose:

G'night.

Could be UTI (including with the bleeding when she pees), but could be a whole bunch of other stuff which you don't want to wait for it to declare itself.

She needs to see a doc or pop down to A+E.

What kind of blood? Is it small obvious clots? Or more that her urine is stained pink? Does she have lower back pain?

If it is a UTI, she can start treating herself symptomatically with pain relief and plenty of fluids-non acidic ones-not juices except for cranberry and if she has some bicarbonate of soda-dliute some in water and drink it. I know she won't want to drink because it hurts too much to pee but she needs to dilute the acidity in her urine in order to ease the discomfort. This should help her until she gets to see the doctor. Easing her symptoms is not a substitute for medical attention though

She MUST go to the doctor, an untreated UTI can lead to a kidney infection which is much more serious and can make her very ill-believe me I've been there.

eta:just seen the time this was posted originally so it's probably been dealt with-never mind

seriously...if blood is involved, there should never be a post here at Lit.
Even if all of us were very experienced with medicine and medical emergencies, we aren't doctors

Kidney infections hurt worse than childbirth, according to a person very close to me who knows.

Any bleeding out the vadge that doesn't seem to be menstruation needs to be checked out by a doctor the same day, if not in the ER immediately.
