I was enjoying a thread posted by @Jw75766 (a new member of Lit) that asked what brought people to Lit. I had a vague sense of not having seen many (any?) familiar names. Then I stumbled on the fact that it was in Fetish and Sexuality Central. I'm inviting you AH folks to go post the reasons that brought you to Lit. I'm pretty sure we've done this before, but I'd like to see what you have to say.

BTW, Jw, you don't actually have to have written anything to hang out here. It's fine if you just enjoy talking about writing and sexuality and related subjects.

There's been similar threads here over the years, just like everything else, but these days I find myself more interested in hearing why people who have been here for a decent length of time stay.

Maybe I'll make that thread at some point.

I stopped by decades ago to read some erotica and decided I also had stories to tell.

To answer the question:

I was posting erotica on Reddit and X-hamster and was told my stories were good enough for here. I'd never heard of here before, checked it out, posted a story, was met with encouragement and kindness and more comments and votes/views than I ever thought I'd see, and stuck around until I felt like more of a hindrance than a benefit and left. Came back because of writing exercises.

Don't go blaming my ass, I didn't order you to do shit, just suggested you might like posting here.
all those that find the idea of Millie ordering you to do "anything" justifiably erotic to validate the existence of this thread, raise your....um...hands. yeah, hands is what I meant to say...

I have been a reader here for decades, coming over from an older usenet group. And I have considered writing for about a decade. Issues IRL got me to the point where I decided to try and the floodgates opened for me. I published my first story 60 days ago. My sixteenth goes live Sunday, all in the same series. I have written a few more, which are not part of that universe and I have not yet submitted. One is personal enough I am not sure I ever will. All told, about 250K words so far.

It seems to be cathartic to me in some way. My partner just says I am obsessive.
