This is gonna be based on the series by Tad Williams. The series is called Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn. I doubt any of you have read it. If not, it don't matter. Note that I enjoyed this series more that any other book or set of books I have ever read. It is quite good, as I have read my fair share of books. The setting: A continent called Osten Ard. Religion: Both pagans and Aedonites exist(Usires Aedon is the name of the God). A littile History: The Sithi(elves) were almost annhilated by humanity. At the siege of their capital, they were losing. The younger son of the King of the Sithi traveled into the depths of the catacombs and forged an extremely powerful magic sword. He called it Sorrow. With this sword, he killed his father after his father told him not to use the sword. Then him and his 5 most devoted followers sallied alone against the entire human army. The sword was a thing of puree hate and they decimated half the army. When they saw they could not win, they ran to the top of a mountain, as Inlekui began to chant terrible words of magic. When he was done, a clap of thunder and lightning shook the land. When visibility was restored, nothing remained of Inlekui(now called the storm King) and his 5(called the Red Hand) but ash. But they were not dead. They ssurvived on as spirits of pur hate. Hate for the mortals. But the capital fell anyway, and few Sithi escaped. The humans built their own capital there. This will take place after the initial three books. King Elias had a psycopath priest(Pyrates) as his chief counselor. This priest made a deal with the Storm King. A terrible winter descended. Simon, a young kitchen boy who lost his parents is the "hero". His friend and tutor, Doctor Morgenes(actually a powerful mage and a member of the secret league called the League of the Scroll, founded to try to stop the Sotrm King) was studying with him one day, and suddenly recieved word that Prince Josua(King Elias's brother) had dissapeared. (Josua has only his right hand. The left he lost while trying to defend Elias's wife during a raid. At the end, the wife was hit by an arrow and died, but before that had given birth to a daughter. Elias blamed Josua for her death) Simon one day was snooping around and found a secret door. He opened it and it opened to Pyrates personal chambers. Prince Josua hung in chains. The next day, him and Morgenes came down and freed the prince. On their way back, they were spied by one of Pyrates's men. After Prince Josua managed to escape through a secret tunnel, Pyrates and his gaurds attacked them. Simon escaped too, but Morgenes sacrificed himself. Simon later freed a Sithi and was given the White Arrow, which means that the sithi owes him a life debt. He met Binabik the troll and his wolf Qantaqa and they became dear friends. They had also fought Norns, who were a type of evil northern Sithi that had allied themselves with the Storm King. At that battle, they found two girls. One was 15, the other 8.They got to a wise woman named Geloe's house. Geloe kept the 8 year old but sent the others on their way(obviously, she helped them. She was also a meber of the League, as was Binabik) They arrived at Naglimund(Prince Josua's castle) and stayed for at most a month. There Simon, Binabik, a Rimmersman(Rimmersgard was a powerful northern kingdom) named Sludig and 6 others set off for the deep north, for there was a prophecy of three great swords being brought together. One sword was Sorrow, another Thorn, and the last Minneyar(Memory, which was reforged into Bright-Nail). Elias had Sorrow, and it was driving him mad, but he didn't know it. So they set off to find Thorn, which was way up north. They fought a bunch of Norns, but were saved by Sithi. The Sithi first were going to kill them, but then Simon presented the White Arrow, and were led into a secret cave. There Simon met for the second time the Sithi he had saved. The Sithi was Jiriki, a prince of the Sithi. He and three other Sithi joined Simon and the others to find the sword. They were led up an enormous mountain, and into a cave. Skeletons lay about, and Thorn lay in a cormer. It was found that none but Simon could lift it. Then, 50 Norns surrounded them. But the ancient Ice-dragon Igjarjuk. Simon saved them all by slaying the dragon. But some blood fell on Simon. He now had a scar running from the bottom of his jaw to his left eye. Also, the very front part of his hair had become white. They were prisoners of the Trolls, though. The trolls wanted to kill Sludig and Binabik. They managed to make friends of the trolls though. (By the way, the trolls in these books are the size of a 6 year old child, but are very strong) A few trolls, including the one who was to marry Binabik, joined them. At the same time, Naglimund had fallen to the Norns. All but 24 survivors left. These were all people very close to Josua. But I forgot to tell you all something: Miriamele, the princess, daughter of Elias, was one of the girls who had traveled with Simon from Geloes house. She had run away with a certain Cadrach, a priest, to Nabban to try and get them to join Josua. It turned out that Nabban had already come to Josua's aid, but the duke was killed by his elder son. They withdrew back to Nabban. Cadrach and Miriamele were tooken by a count of the neighboring country and sent to Divinian, a league member and personal aide to the lector(the pope) Duke Isgrimnur of Rimmersgard was sent to find them. He arrived as a priest at the Cathedral. Pyrates came and killed the lector and Divinian. Divinaian told Cadrach to go to another island. He told the same to Isgrimnur a minute or two later. Pyrates escaped unharmed. Josua and his men arrived at a mountain called the Stone of Farewell, and it was soon filled by colonists. Simon was tooken into a Sithi city when he was lost by Sludig and Binabik, the only remaining people of the Thorn finders. Jiriki had left weeks earlier. He stayed with the Sithi for two months, then was sent to Josua. A night later, 100 trolls joined their ranks. Simon was knighted. A Duke of Elias's attacked them, but was killed and his army crushed. Around this time, Isgrimnur had found Miriamele and Cadrach, along with another League member and the greatest knight of all time, named Camaris. Camaris was thought dead when he was lost at sea. But it turned out he was just addled. He did not know his own name. Isgrimnur brought them to the stone after they beat the enemy army. Camaris was brought to normal and handed the sword Thorn, which was his sword. They set off to conquer Nabban. On the way, Miriamele and Simon ran away to talk to Elias. Binabik ran away to find them a day later. Camaris won Nabban. Simon and Miriamele were found by Binabik. the Sithi finally mobilized and crushed the Norns at Naglimund. Then, they moved to the Hayholt, the human capital, which stood over the tunnels of the Sithi capital. Simon was lost in the tunnels. There he found Bright-Nail. Camaris and the others arrived at the Hayholt. Isgrimnur's son was slaughtered in an ambush. Camaris, Josua, and many Sithi dissapeared into a tunnel and the Sithi stayed behind to battle one of the Red Hand. Camaris, Simon, and Elias all went up into Green Angel Tower, the highest place in the Hayholt. They also met Pyrates there. There, Elias struck down Josua, and almost killed him. Binabik and Miriamele were thrown to a wall, and could not move under the spell of Pyrates. Then Miriamele gathered enough will and shot an arrow through Pyrates's throat. He stumbled, then pulled free the arrow. All three swords met in a triangle. A blackness spread, down Sorrow and into Elias. Elias began to change into the Storm King. The Storm King killed Pyrates. Then Simon realized that the Storm King fed on hate, and that he was till channeling energy. Simon stopped hating him. Camaris did the same. The Storm King was too weakened, and the tower began to collapse. A rock crushed him, and the others escaped. It turned out that Simon was actually noble and should have been king. Him and Miriamele married, as did Binabik and Sisqi. Prince Josua was actually a son of Camaris, and his wife bore him twin sons. Jiriki went to mourn for the dead, but promised he would come back. But other evils still lurk across Osten Ard. I want to make this into a good thread. You can be whatever character you like, but I got dibs on Simon and the bad guy. Miriamele is also a good fighter, for any of you ladies, as is Sisqi, Binabik's wife, and aditu, Jiriki's sister. Other than that, there is Josua, his son: Deorneth, Isgrimnur(a huge man), Jiriki, Camaris, a henchman evil guy, or just about any other character you want!

I would love to join though I don't know much abou tthe series it sounds interesting... Do you need someone to play Miriamele?

OOC: I know of one other series that he wrote... the Otherland series, it is a damn good series.

OOC: I'll read it, my man. Yup. Thanks Lady Siren. And as always, your presence is a blessing.

OOC: Okay. I'm starting it up.

IC: Simon drew his arrow back on the bow, and released. It flew straight and true, and lodged itself in the boar's eye. A few younger members of the party clapped. "Excellent shot", Isgrimnur spoke from nearby. "Ah, the boar was but standing still. Let's get our prizes back to Osten Ard and have ourselves a feast. The cooks should be able to make a good meal out of our hunt", he said. Simon wheeled his horse around, then rode off to the castle. The rest of the hunting party followed, the servants dragging 2 bears, 15 boars, and 40 deer.

Miriamele stood in the gardens of the castle planting some new flowers she bought at a fair last eve. Smiling at her handiwork she smiled sitting back on her heels. "Perfect" she mumured. She was about to get the water can when she heard riders approach and stood up smoothing down her skirt. The hunting party must be returning, which meant Simon would be returning. She was about to rush toward the party when she remembered she had been playing in dirt all day. Frowning she looked down at her soiled dress and hands. Shaking her head "this won't do at all" deciding quickly she took off running to her room into the castly ignoring the surprised look of the servants as their mistress rushed past them dirty as an orphan. Arriving in her room she quickly washed up calling Betsy to help her with her hair. She was dressed in a clean dress with her hair done fashionably up and down the stairs in record time. Panting when she finally reached the court yard where the party was sorting through thier kills. Looking around for Simon she spotted him talking to a servant "Simon!" she called walking towards a smile spreading across her lips.

Simon turned. Then, seeing who it was, ran to her, swept her off her feet, and planted a passionate kiss on her lips.

She kissed him back feeling the familiar heat spread throughout her body. Then blushing at all the eyes on her she bit her lip then looked at him "I'm happy you are home Simon. I missed you dreadfully" she said a smile forming on her lips.

"I missed you as well, although I was only gone for four hours. I have a pleasant surprise for dinner, my queen", he smiled softly, picking her hand up and kissing it.

Miriamele smiled blushing slightly. "Well I my king I look forward to this surprise"

"I must get dressed. But I'll meet you in our good dining hall shortly", he said, planting another kiss on her lips. He then turned and walked through a doorway. He changed quickly, and arrived at the dining hall before anyone else. He waited for the others, and the servants.
