Old School Musicianship… Rock and Roll.. Jazz… Blues… Big Band even…

Right? I was just watching a Rick Beato video a few days ago, and he was pointing out the stats... music just isn't nearly as important today as it used to be. Very weird stuff.
Because we didn't have social media, our attention spans were longer. We could listen to a whole song all the way through. A whole album, even! Kids now are raised on 15 seconds or less. A song is just too much, nobody has time for that.

Okay - my thread... and my rules were stated right from the start on the first page.

You are totally more than welcome and invited to post some Big Band (love that stuff!) Sinatra, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, and if you want Jazz, like cool old school jazz? I love it! Post it! But not obscure stuff, but stuff we haven't heard for a while - that's what the thread is about, hearing from "old friends".

And right now, I'm in the mood for.... Steve Stevens! Such an amazing guitar player!!!!!

Billy Idol - Mony Mony

@BrendaD

Our tastes in music overlap considerably. Very cool stuff.

I was an afternoon jock on a classic rock radio station years ago. Every Friday, I would play the kings. I'd start the song just before 5pm so that when 5'oclock hit, it coincided with "Nothing matters but the weekend" where it switches over to Switchin'.

Keep'em coming. If I ever get some time, I'll add to the list.

This song absolutely mesmerized me when it came out... such a cool vibe!

Dire Straits - Skateaway

I fell asleep while searching for tunes and woke up to this...
Sleep Walk - 1985
Song by Jeff Beck

Somehow... this is way more appropriate today than when they recorded it...

But I just posted it because I dig the song. 🥰🥰🥰

The Youngbloods - Get Together

When I started dabbling with guitar a few years back, this was one of the first songs that popped into my mind. Plus a bunch of CCR.
