My first three stories were up loaded as a file. They all published just fine. The next three I cut and pasted into the online literotica editor.
I was hoping to continue polishing while I was away from a real computer. In draft it appears that all the formatting is gone. There are no paragraph breaks for example. I just went into drafts and put all the paragraph spacing in. Question: Does the Editor on line preserve the formatting from Word for publication, or have I just added double lines between paragraphs?

All formatting disappears when you copy from Word. You can add a bit - bold, italics, that kind of thing - using HTML codes. Check out this from the FAQ: https://www.literotica.com/faq/publishing/publishing-text-formatting

For paragraph breaks, I always insert an extra hard return before I copy the text from Word. The easiest way is with Find & Replace (^p to ^p^p). Then after I've copied the text I use Ctrl-Z to undo the change in the Word file.

I've used StyleusSnow's macro, and it works. I cannot be bothered to add the extra paragraph spacings myself, so I run the macro, export as text, then use a python script to add the extra spacing at the end of paragraph breaks, then paste the resulting text into the submissions box.

Remember that if you submit a word file, and you haven't cleaned it of all personal information, you are submitting meta-data that may include your name and microsoft account name. It may not matter to some people, and you may trust the site you are submitting it to but why take a chance. Anonymity matters to some people. Also, you cannot preview it.

If you want the (6 lines of) python and instructions, let me know.

I cannot believe that I missed this simple method when I read it. I thought it was simpler to write a script than to search on Word help. In my defence, the program is just annoying in all sort of ways.

Lit is a great place to learn new things.

Isn't return return easier, as you're typing the first time?

Could be, if you can get into the habit. Me, I'd probably forget. Also, I find it a bit distracting to read with all the extra white lines, so I prefer to do it when I've finished the story. Add all the extra lines in one go, undo them all in another.
