Black Hawk

The sun was just rising as they rode into the village Two moons And Little Star had pullled up and were resting their mounts ahead of them, smild and remained silent not wanting to distrub this peacefull scene as Black hawk and Shining Moon passed. Black Hawk not wanting to wake Shining Moon just yet let his horse have move slowly on.

Her warm body in front of his comforted him making him feel that the days ahead might not be as hard as he had thought. Her kiss on his chest beroe shedozed off told him that she trusted him to guide her as they moved down the unklnown path ahead of them. The barking of a dg and children giggling as they ran to meet them woke shining moon and she straigthened up looking around at the surroundings. The children were happy in their innocence but dressed in tattered clothes thin and unkempt they casued her to gasp in surprise."No water here," Black Hawk said realizing her alarm "they have to bring it from the river a half a day away, so it is to precious to squander on bathing and washing clothes."

The dust swirled around their horses hooves and there was not a green thing in sight only a few straggly cactii and some tumbleweed. As they passed the lodges heads peeked out and then disappeared again behind the buffalo flaps. In the middle of the Village a fire made from buffalo chips had been started, smoking more than burning, as a maiden stired it's coals preparing it for a huge pot of cornmeal. Tehy stopped in front of a larger lodge and Black Hwk gave her a gentle squeeze saying softly in her ear "Be brave, together we can do this."

Little Star dismounded and helped Shining Moon down and led her to a lodge. "You must rest some more and eat she said resolutely. Black Hawk and Two Mooons will meet with the elders and we will talk. She smiled "Don't worry you will be safe, in a few hours the men will return and the four of us will stay in this lodge tonight."

"There is much that we must talk about and much for you to see. You will find that this is not a good place for our people to live but they do the best they can. Please know that they are not lazy or choose to live in this squallor for they have no choice, at least not yet."

She looked toward Two Moons knowing that he had not known about this plan but saw him smile in agreement.

Jen/ Star

She flinched at the noise only a slight jump as she hear the yip of the dogs at there welcome. the children squealed in glee around their horses Jen looked out over the Scene and yes, she did gasp this... This was nothing like she had expected. the little one half nude ran around filthy covered in dirt yet smiles on their faces happy to see family and friends returned home safely. mother gathered some little ones and took them away from the white women eyes while others just ducked back inside their lodges the little ones didn't treat her any different matter of fact they where amazed at the difference in her coloring her hair they jabbered in their own language when they asked Black hawk about the fire haired women. Asked if it burned to touch Black hawk only laughed then moved along.


She heard all he had said a bout the water the valley the conditions she found it deplorable not that they lived like this but that was the only choice they did have. how could her own people her own government not hold up there end of the land right the deals made and sighed for food and land. know wonder they tried to get her father and the others to see this mess. she was helped down by star who this time she went with freely with a nod her eyes lifted only once when she was told black hawk and the men would go away to speak to the elders but he reassures her before she would be safe and n ow Star was doing the same thing. she looked over she shoulder to Black hawk a longing look as she saw him enter a different lodge a large lodge with two moons behind him but not before she saw the look transpired between both star and Two moons. star took her inside Black hawks lodge the fire pit cold and it was dark inside as star took her to a pile of furs and told her to sit. she worked gathering the wood and twinges in the near by corner soon a fire was blazing and it illuminated the whole lodge. it was a plan lodge covered in skins a few hide decorated the wall his weapons in the back a few pots near the sides and even two stick like hand made backrests sat around the fire pit. a taller mat from what looked like rush was in the corner with piles over piles of furs set to it. later she would find that was where BlackHawks slept.
Star sat beside her and stared to add a few things to a pot some dried meats and potatoes corn and carrots and something she had no idea what it was but it seemed to thicken the sauce it was making then onions where added and a few other seasoning that all seemed strange to her it was to be their dinner for this evening she lifted a very small bowl and spooned out a small about of water fro her to drink. handing it to her.

"Here drink this. i know your throat is dry we have road long. there is many new things here to teach you Shinning moon But first to be better excepted here you should look like one of us. i have and extra tunic for a women you can have and i already mad a pair of moccasins for your feet. this will make Black hawk happy. would you do this for him and your self its for safety as well remember there are many here that will resent you being here and use your ways and clothes against you. not all mind you but some. lets not give them any reason ?"

Jen nodded she liked wearing the b uttersoft hides from the last time so she had no trouble then to think it would please him was even more of the reason to do so soon she was dressed and even let Star fiddle with her hair pulling it back into a long braid like her own adding ornamental disks and even a soft turkey feather at the side. she say back and observed her work yes he would be pleased she thought.

"Tomorrow when the day breaks after our rest I will teach you how to beat the furs clean and prepare to stock his lodge. I will walk you though all the steps of being of the people but tonight it is ti rest,"
and waited then looked to her.

"I saw the look Two moons gave you as he left. are you to husband and wife he looked like he cares for you deeply. "

Star had to blush as she shook her head. Working on the stew.

"No, we do not call it husband and wife like the white man if I was his what you call wife in our words I would be taken as his women and he then yes would be called my husband. He has only asked me to court him. I am hoping it will come to that but it is only the beginning."

Jen smiled seeing the shy smile and the explanation, she had to ask.

"What is courting to your people"

Well first he has to be granted permission from our parents to do so, or an elder from the council if no other was available then get my permission. once that is done many things can happen. he would come to my lodge and play his flute for me.. it is a beautiful sound of love one he would write and sing to me and only me alone. if i walk to him and grant him my presence we will walk though the village talking maybe go some where private to speak and ... well be alone. if he asks me to share his blanket i know he is serious and wishes to join to me as his women not asking but showing his intentions if i agree when we get back he will hand the blanket to my father will open it and mother takes one end while he another they place it over him and I both hiding us both from view and he may kiss me ... and it is excepted. then we can walk with the blanket to cuddle and kiss alone ... after that he will ask me to be his women at a celebration or meeting where the tribe gathers when he is ready it could be in private or in public it is up to the warrior. after that well a wedding takes place and we can get into that later but now i just agreed to court him."

Star was blushing yet looked dreamy eyes as she spoke Jen smiled watching the pride in her eyes speaking of the traditions and customs of what she called dating there would be much to learn. b ut it sounded very beautiful and family oriented these people would find joy even in this barren land. she sat back and waited for the men to return she did hope he would like how she looked.

Capt

Captain Terrance Randel rode into the fort a tiered and beat man out on patrols over two days now and not at all up to hear the ranting and ravings of his only daughter about the wedding he did promise her to her lieutenant Thomas Drake. He had to get this savage this Black Hawk that dared to take his daughter he would be made and example off, to pay for what he went though at the thought of the lose of his child. but now he was fully expecting Jennifer to come running to him shouting about broken promises and empty words yet he looked up surprised to find the quiet of the fort even at this hour. well none came to him complaining so ... no news was good news. he gave a few orders to the men in his battalion and then handed his horse over to the stable master as he trudged back to his own cabin yet still as he walked in the door no Jenny. Where was she?

"She better now be with Drake she better had not gone ahead and married that man without her own father to give her away. NO.. no your not thinking clearly Randel ... your daughter wouldn't do that she's not that dull whitted.. Get you head on straight Terrance."

He looked around to see if anyone was around or heard him talking to himself as he then went into his daughters room. nothing seemed amiss there at all nothing he walked to the front porch looking out for some one to tell him where his daughter was. he saw a young sergeant walking the ground as shed him about Jen the man replied he had not seen the lady in several days he believed the captain had her under lock and key then he asked two other privates and another Sergeant it was then he stood in the center of the fort screaming out in rude, tired rage and anger echoing all over the entire ground of the fort.

Get me Drake and get him here now and he better know where my daughter is or heads will roll!!!!! ON THE DOUBLE!

Two Moons

He was in a daze thinking about what Little Star had said to Shning Moon about the four of them sharing the same lodge. She had already agreed to let him court her after he had asked permission from their parents.

So he had looked forward to playing his flute for her and then the sharing of the blanket. It was more than he had hoped for to happens so soon. It would not matter if his best friend and his woman were with them as he wished to court slowly and there would be time later when they would be more in private to come together as man and woman.

And so he did not hear much of what Black Hawk and his father talked about except that he knew that this first time they were together, was mostly to reaffirm their bond and that later after they had spent a day together and they grew more comfortable in each others presence they would talk of the problem they faced and what they could do to resolve it. Two Moons admired Black Hawk for his patience and his strength in adversity. If this thing needed to be done he knew that Black Hawk could make it happen. And so he gazed off into the distance thinking of Little Star and planing the flute song that he would play for her.

After the chief excused them, he and Black Hawk walked to the far edge of the village and looked down in the valley where the women were carrying their laundry to the river. The children ran ahead some were already at the waters edge splashing playfully in the water.

They talked about the fertile valley that lay beyond this one on land the whitemen had taken from them as if they felt it was too good for indians. Tomorrow they would take the woman here to show her what they asked for. Seeing how important this was to Black Hawk, Two Moons forgot about Little Star for a while and listened as Black Hawk shared his plans.

Black Hawk

As he looked down over into the valley he spoke his toughts outloud to Two Moons as he always did. They were like brothers and he knew he could share his innermost feelings with him.

"I can feel that my father will be hard to convince," he said sadly, "a lot will depend on Shining Moon and how she appears to him. She is a strong willed woman, my brother ,perhaps that will help as long as he can trust her to do what is right. He knows as you do that I have strong feelings for her and if she has the same for me he will see that also. I think that she will please him she is indeed beautiful a woman any man would be proud to have by his side but will he trust her? That is what it will all come down to. If she is willing to know about our people, to live with us and share our customs then he will know she is willing to see us as we really are to trust us and then become trustworthy. I must tell her this although she probably already is aware of it, she is very intuitive this one. She sees things most women dont. I admire her for that. Little Star will help her I am sure of this."

At the mention of little Stars name Two Moons eyes lit up. Black Hawk smiled at his friend."Are you soon to be sharing a blanket." he said Two Moons nodded.

"I am happy for you my brother, Little Star is a good woman and will make you very happy. Tonight when you are together forget about me and Shining Moon, we will close our eyes and ears so that you can start your courtship.

Two Moons smiled back, "Yes brother, we are very happy already and we are anxious to start the courtship but we have lots of time it is important for us to help you do this thing you must do. And then we will have time for courting. Maybe you and Shining moon will be ready then too."

Black Hawk grinned I had thought of that, there is nothing I would rather do but first I must think of my people and take care of them, then there will be time for other things like courting.

As they walked back through the villiage thye saw the women getting the vening meal ready They went to the lodge to meet with the women. as they approacehed the lodge shining moon stepped out her auburn hair was braided back and an eagle featrher was fatsened in it she was dressed in a doeskin skirt and vest with turquoise beads that brought out the color of her emerald eyes Black Hawks heart came to his throat when he saw her, knowing at that instant he would do anything for the love of this woman.

Jen

Little Star asked her to get the dried venison from the rack just out side the lodge. She stepped out just as Black Hawk was moving with Two moons to come back in side. She smiled seeing they both had returned then blinked seeing the reaction Black Hawk had at seeing her in the garments. He said nothing only stared. Biting the side of her cheek she looked down.

"I am sorry. I did not mean to be in the way Little Star asked me to get the Venison on the racks."

She moved out of the way and to the rack with a shrug, thinking he didn't like how she looked in the clothes of his people. She had not meant to mock him only please him in her dress and trying to fit in. Quickly she gathered the dried meats and returned back to the lodge without another word to him. her hand shook slightly as she handed the bowl to Star and then sat back in the shadows watching the fire from the place she chose. Both men then stepped inside Two Moons when right to Star her eyes lite the whole Lodge as she smiled to greet him.

Star> " We both have worked hard your evening meal is ready for the two of you. Shining Moon helped me, she learns fast look at her does she not look beautiful in my old dress and moccasins?"

She only stayed in the shadows listening feeling his eyes burning to her as star spoke. She felt it was importian to try and fit in. she liked the feel of the does skin on her body and she wanted to look nice for him but she was not sure after her stared to her like that. Without a word. then again she truly didn't give him time to say anything be retreated back inside with Star.

Star smiled to Two moons as she dishes out the stew to both men taking extra time to hand Two moons his her hand brushed to his softly as she smiled just watching him eat. Custom was for the men to eat first then the women unless the males stated other wise. Jen did wonder why star didn't eat she had told her earlier she was starved after that long ride from the fort. then she blinked and looked to the darkness thinking about the fort. had her father been outraged she was gone again would anyone tell him of Thomas and his deceit or would Tom play hurt and fake his caring over her welfare. she shook her head thinking about the man the man she now loathed in her heart and she then felt the eyes of another the one that her heart was warming to. Dark eyes lifted and turn to look in his direction. she couldn't help but grin then looked down to her moccasin covered feet

Little star

Her hand softly brushed to his as she passed him the bowl of stew. Her eyes danced over his as she smiled sitting back and watching him enjoy the food they both prepared. A cool water skin was poured into four horn cups and she handed them to the men first the one to Shinning moon the last she kept for her self. Black Hawk told the women to eat and join them. Shining Moon stayed up in the background near his sleeping platform yet she had no idea what it was or where she sat and Star was not about to tell her and embarrass her in front of the men. Besides she had other ideas running though her mind as she settled next to two moons eating and jabbering away to him softly.

"I hope all went well in the chiefs lodge. She is trying hard and seems to be a fast learner. I think she would be good for Black Hawk, his lodge has been cold for to long now. I have seen a spark in his eyes since she is about it is a good thing."

Two moons watched the corners of her mouth lift and fall as she spoke to him in whispered tones he smiled back at her tenderly as he nodded in agreement to most of her words.

There was another warrior's eyes she looked to for a hint of a sparkle and aye she did see it when he looked her way. would wait till the song of his flute wafted up over her head and into her ears as she would wish to feel the blanket lowered over them both as they walked. soon she felt this day would come and soon she would seek to be his mate his women. but she knew they had work to do things ahead of them both before that might happen yet maybe he would surprise her she would never know with him one thing about Two moon she never knew what to expect from him at least not yet but she would learn, yes she would learn.

Two Moons

As he saw her dark eyes sparkle as she talked and listened to her soft and gentle words. Two Moons heart began to flutter in his chest and his desire to mate with her grew between his loins. He was ready and he knew she was ready too. He wished that the walking with the blanket was behind them and he wanted to play his flute for her first, but so much had been happening to them in this difficult time that the courship ritual had been neglected. Tomorrow the the four of them would travel to fertile valley and they would show Shining Moon this place where they wanted to move to, and show her how they would make a beautiful place for their tribe to live in peace and harmony with nature as they used to before white man came. All this needed to be done as soon as possible for soon the white men from the fort would come to the village looking for the captains daughter and Black Hawk.

There would be much bloodshed if the army came to the village and if it came to that they would have to fight valently . Who knew which of them would be killed. maybe after that there would be no mating for him and Little Star and they would make the trip to the happpy hunting ground alone. He shuddered at the thought and then decided.

He took out his flute and said to Little Star. "Walk with me down to the river I know it's far but the moon is full tonight and there is little time for us to be alone." He went on to tell her his thoughts about why they must not wait assuring her that there would be time later for playing and enjoying the antiipation of mating. They had much time ahead to take their time loving each other and sharing the joy of union.

She seemed surprised and maybe a little disappointed that it would be this way and so he added "If you want...if you are not happy with this decision ...we can wait. I love you and your happiness is important I can wait if it has to be that way. but at least come with me and listen to my flute maybe we can share some of the passion we both feel and leave the mating till we have more time. He stopped talking and grinned thinking he had never said so many words at one time before in his life and knew it was because he loved Little Star very much. His heart had poured out to her.

Black Hawk

He listened in the background to the quiet talk between Little Star and Two Moons. they didn't try to keep him from hearing as they were brothers and had no secrets betweeen them. He looked toward Shining Moon and wondered why she remained in the corner and didn't eat whith them and then realized she didn't know how to act . At first he didn't know what to do how to make her feel like one of them. He realized it would take time if it happened at all and began to wonder if he should have done this thing, this kidnapping. She looked so alone and vulnerable maybe thinking of her father, her family and how she missed them. At last he could not stand the tension any longer and he dished up a bowl of stew and a cup of water for her and moved into the corner.

He looked into her eyes to show her his concern and said" You must eat it. has been a long hard day for you . You need to eat." He set the bowls down when she did not take one right away and took her hands in his. "I'm sorry it came to this he said softly just give me one more day and then I will return you to your family I promise. Two Moons And Little Star are going for a walk and I will stay with you here no harm will come to you this night and in the morning all will look brighter".

He rubbed the backs of her hands to reassure her and then reached up and brushed a strand of hair from her eyes. He wanted to tell her how beautiful she looked and how he cared about her but the words would not come. They needed more time but would they even have it, so much had happened in just the last few days his life had changed so much and in the days ahead there would be more changes he would have to accept. He just smiled instead and wondered if he was reassuring her or himself or maybe both.

She saw him m oved he lifted a bowl and headed her way she smiled soflty then watching in lower beside her his voice boomed out ot her even though it was soflty spoken for him.

" You must eat it. has been a long hard day for you . You need to eat."

She looekd at the food then felt his hand to her as she lifted her gaze to his eyes her smile brightened a bit.

"I'm sorry it came to this he said softly just give me one more day and then I will return you to your family I promise. Two Moons And Little Star are going for a walk and I will stay with you here no harm will come to you this night and in the morning all will look brighter".

She listedn to him he wanted top send her back, this scared her even more her eye's shown the fear . Then his hand patted her trying to reasure him. shee shook her head back to him and in a whisper she spoke her heart taking over was it the fear or her heart speaking on its own now.

" Black Hawk no ...Please don't send me back there. I will do do better i promise . I will make you proud of me. I am where i wish to be. i only put these clothes on to make you happy i though you would like me in these , I did it for you and i do like the way it feel on my skin, but i wore then to please you. GIve me time to fit in please don't push me away don't take me back?"

her hand tighted over his as she pressed her head to his chest her cheek resting there breathing in his scent as she whisper out to him for only him to hear.

" I want to be with you... and only you. No where else, please."

Little star

Star looked up hearing Black hawk then she saw the way Jen pressed against him she nudged to Two moons as he nodded their way.
"Walk with me down to the river I know it's far but the moon is full tonight and there is little time for us to be alone."

She nodded and took his hand to stand ."we will be back soon you two need to share a blanket." They walked out as Star giggled she knew she had told Jen of the customs and she would know what he meant by those words but Two moons and black hawk did not know Star told her of such. the flap closed as two moons walked along the path to the lake they moved to an open clearing in plan view from all to see as they spoke. the look in her eyes as she listen to his voice told all of her feelings for him her hand brushed over top of his as they took a seat on a fallen log.

"I think Black Hawk needs to think more with his heart then his head on this matter now.Your brother has been to long without a mate he worries over others more then his own needs. It is time he thinks on his heart now. the rest will still be here for him to deal with maybe with Shinning moon it would help ease his burden. You can see he cares for Shinning moon greatly. did you see her eyes when she speaks of him or even looks his way she is lost in them. When a women cares for a man her eyes will give away every emotion a man can hide his feeling better but still the women that loves him can see though it."

She grinned as she looked down realizing he would tell in her own of the feeling she had for him. It was then his hand lifted up her chin and he gazed into her own a moment in silence then he spoke softly a hand slide though her hair as she watched her.

"Dose your eye's speak of your feeling for me Little star is that the glow i se when i look in to those dark pools"

A smile brighten up his own eyes as she blushed with a very slight nod her hand turning to link her fingers into his with a soft squeeze.

"There should be a deep glow Two moons, I have had feelings fro you for a long time now but was afraid to speak them because I was way at the soldiers fort and I was not sure how you would feel. But n ow since you spoke to my parents I know..."

A smile brighter then grandmother moon lifted to both her lips and eyes as she stared to him the moon at full peek now the glow shimmering off the water and against them both. It was then she saw the flute he held then she listed to his words yes she wanted to be with him but the traditions would set from th old ways and now he wanted moer his resoning where right and she did fear not ever being with him but her family would not understand if something happed to him and she ened up with child with no words spoke and no blankest shared in front of others she looked to him as he lifted the flute and started to play .

Two Moons

As He played a Beaver moving across the lake made a path of ever widening ripples in its wake. Shimmmering in the Moonlight the ripples spread as did the notes from Two Moons flute reverberating into the distance absobrbed into the dark landsacape.

The beaver nearing shore and his stick domed house dove under the blanket of the dark water.
The lovers smiled knowing that the beaver would enter the underwater entrance and find his mate waiting expectantly for him inside the warmth of their secluded home. the brave put down his flute and turned to his maiden. The blanket he had over his shoulders he extended over hers enclosing them both in its wamth and security. Their anxious
hands removed each others garments and naked, wrapped in the blanket, they settled to the earth. Thye knew there was no time for playing at love as they searched for each others sex and moaning joined together. This was what they wanted, to share the most this union and they were prepared for it, her body wet with desire and his hard and demanding as they moved together sending ripples of ever widening need until as one the sweet peak was reached and then as the ripples receded they were washed back into the depths of their togetherness submerged in each others destination.

Blakc Hawk

"I want to be with you... and only you. No where else, please."

He heard her say, and knew it to be true by the urgency of her voice and the pleading look in her green eyes.

If they could only escape this net that held them captive in their separate pasts and obligations to others that they loved and who loved them. But Black Hawk knew this wasn't possible. Somehow he needed to explain to her and yet he knew that she realized it too, but was just not wanting right now to let herself see it. If there was some way he could reassure her that the only way to get trhough this was to be strong and listen to their true feelings.

As Two Moons and Little Star disappeared into the darkeness, He took her hand and led her to his bed of buffalo hides and beconed her to lie down. She hesitated briefly and so he looked deep in her eyes to show his true feelings and kneeling beside her as she lay down he said softly "Don't worry, if you need to return to your people... if that day comes I will go with you and speak for your honor, for your purity. I will not take that from you until we both are ready and if the time passes and we decide it is not to be I will accept that happening.

All I ask of you tonite is that you sleep in my arms. Tomorrow we will visit the place my father wishes to live out his life and take care of his people. He wishes to talk to you also in the morning. So it is important that you sleep well. In the warmth of my arms you will feel protected and cared for. I promise you that.

Little star

She_ listened as he_ played the flute fro her his words spoke to her in the notes of that flute the way he looked to her as he played the love song just for her. Her eyes glistening in the moonlight held firm with anticipation and excitement all rolled into one. she beamed seeing him lift the blanket in her direction and set the flute down. She knew what he wanted the same s she but she was scared she wanted this she was so_ in love with him already. his hands pulled her in to___ him as that blanket_ covered them both. after the garments removed they_ started to the other soon laying in full union they made love so sweetly into the_ night demanding the same from the other their bodies became one as she gave herself to him and she took all of the brave warrior she knew him to be. Although it was not the tender loving first time as most lovers would wish it still held a meaning a tenderness in it her heart was given to him as well as her body and his the same. after they both reached that no turning back point the peeks found and released he rolled to her holding her closer nibbling into her ear.

"You are my women__ now I claim you as mine. Do you except this full Little star?"




She_ beamed as she__ nodded back to him feeling so close so loved by this man that she had to say yes in their custom if the man made love to her_ the first time a man did so to_ take her maiden hood. It was his right to ask her to be his mate his wife in the white mans terms.

" Aye my brave strong warrior. I will be your women. From this day forth, I shall be known as the women to Two moons. The man I love."

She smiled to him so warmly so lovingly as he took her into his arms again and made sweet passinate love to his women agains and again.

Two Moons

The first time had been quick and abrupt. They both had known it would be that way. The newness for both of them speeding them onward toward their common goal, bypassing the subtle joys of the union that they would discover later.

Now that that first time had passed and knowing of their commitment to each other they relaxed and began again, this time exploring each others bodies minds and souls as they climbed the peak of their desires and flew off into the valley of oneness.

The Sun had started to rise when the need tugged at them again and the brave looking down at the maiden in the morning light marveled at just how beautiful she was. Her eyes shown with love her lips smiled in acceptance as his hands roamed over her tawny body smoothing back her hair caressing her neck behind her ears moving downward to her breasts the dark tips hardened with passion, Her dark skin glowed with the moisture of their lovemaking He bent down and kissed each tip tasting the sweet-salty wetness of their combined scents. He breathed deeply aroused by the aroma that emenated from their eager bodies. Eager to please each other in every way possible Raising himself up on his elbows he looked at her and saw her looking down at his shaft hard and glistening pulsing in anticpation as it hovered near her soft dark mound. Black Hawks gaze softened as he continued to look in her eyes. He saw more than trust and respect he saw love. His heart swelled at the thought of it and he knew he felt it too, that this woman had become more than just a friend, more than someone who he could trust and share his feelings with but someone he could love also.

"Shining Moon". he whispered as he pulled her close to him I ....." He wanted to tell her he loved her but the words never came. Was he unsure? No he knew it to be trueWhat kept him from saying it if it was true. Was he afraid she would reject his love, no, her body told him otherwise. Did he not trust himself to say the words and then not be able to hold back his desire to show her that love show her by making love with her?

Yes, he decided, that was something they needed to talk about before they spoke of love, to talk about how it should be between them when they did decide. Two Moons

Laying back knowing that the last of his seed had been spent deep into Stars body, Two Moons smiled and with his hand covered the place he had so joyously emersed himself in.

He felt the heat of their union, the soft wet texture of her satiated skin, the gentle pulse of her heartbeat in this very special place. He turned and lowering his head rested it on her stomach.The aroma of their lovemaking invaded his nostrels and he sighed "I love you, little Star, I love the gift of your body that you have given me and hope that my seed will give you my gift of a child."

He cupped his hand and pulled tighter as if he were holding his seed inside her to join with hers and make a child.

The sun shown down on them warming them. From the water two beaver rose up having come out of their house together, a male and his mate. Together they began to frolic in the water as if they were celebrating a momentous occcasion. Two Moons looked at his mate and he jumped up pulling her with him as he dashed into the water. Star giggled as she willing let him lead her into the cool depths where they splashed and played and shared the physical closeness that their lovemaking had awoken in them.

They soon were exhaused and after they took turns washing each other they returned to the shore where they lay in the grass until their bodies were dry. Then they reluctently dressed and returned to the village.

She listed to his words telling her of the meting with his father then her pulled her closer she felt the grasp of his hand to the small of her back as her body now pressed to his. She felt the surge of flames licking to her soul as his lips pressed to her own at that very moment. She smiled the watching the way he lifted and walked to the flap turning to look to her with a warm grin as he moved outside to wait. her eyes followed his form when he moved ,she could not help but smile brightly. she was happy and here in his lodge. she pulled back the furs and smoothed the doe skin tunic in place and fussed with her hair to make it just like Star had the night before even the moccasin where smoothed and tied tight she did so want to make a good impression on his father. she would be herself that was all she knew how to be , never phony or put on but truly she wanted to help these people, and she wanted to be with Black hawk and live with him . However this was no way to live truthfully. she wanted to see this valley they spoke of but unless his father belived her intent, it would be of no useto any of them at all.

she walked to the flap and looked out she saw him talking to a brave and then stepped back seeing her walk out his hand extended to her as she lifted her own placing it in the warmth of his graph as he said something to the other brave who only smiled and walked away. Black hawk lead her to the large lodge in the center of camp and spoke to some other braves as he opened the flap announcing their presence. inside was dark now at all like Black hawks. many more furs lined the walls the floor was soft every step was covered in furs or hides and much larger she saw an older man he was Black hawk only much older. still a handsome man but older in years he moved slowly and motioned them to come closer to the fire Black hawk guided her with him as he sat to the left of his father and motioned her to the right. the silence was deifying till the old man finally spoke.

"I can see why the fire haired one has stole my sons heart away but it takes more then sheer beauty to keep the fire burning in his eyes. the heart must be pure as well. you speak to me of the white man the truth and we will see what can be done. now why do you seek to help our people Shinning Moon"what will you gain in doing this thing for us my son has taken you from the lands you kno the pepole that claim you and care for you how will this help in convincing your father at the soilders fort we mean no war only peaces and wish to live as the spirts frist granted to us before the white man took away our hunting grounds and fertial lands?"

Little Star

Star held to his hand tightly the blanket draped around her shoulder as they moved though the camp many greeted then knowing the blanket and its meeting others turned there heads giving them privacy as they moved to the lodge of their friends, it was then they saw both Shinning moon and Black hawk moving to the lodge of his father and chief they both smiled as they walked hand in hand always a good sign star was glade Shining moon wore the dress of her people and she looked well in it. it suited her well and she did see the look on Black hawks face when he walked in and saw her looking of the people. This was to be a good day the start to many more she hoped her hand squeezed to two moons as she looked to him.

"I wish they find the happiness we share my heart. They both need each other they spirits speak in many ways in this camp it seems to guide the hands of fate. My path has been chosen it lead to my hearts desire and he claimed me as his mate. and I am proud."

Two moons beamed hearing her nodding in agreement watching his friend duck under the flap of the chiefs lodge. Then looked to his women.

"Their path has already started Little Star, it did the very day Black Hawk took the women from the camp. He was struck that day the sprits knew the path ahead to be one that would guide many that day. And they lead me to you as well."

He lead her to the lodge and ducked inside knowing she would follow. stare closed the flap then flung herself into his arms as he stood there her lips slidig up over his tenderly hrer arms carssing his back as she beamed in happiness to him letting the kiss speak of her own feeling knowing they might not shar in times such as this if things did not go right so she would bask in all she was able even stolen moments like this. knowing he had things to ready for the trip as did she.

Two moons

He smiled in wonder at this maiden who had become his woman. Smiled, because he knew that every day would be an adventure for them. Now that they had experienced the feeling of oneness they would return to that place often each time new but with the experience of times past bringing with it a sameness, the security of knowing that it was meant to be that way.

Two moons lips found the soft spot belind Little Stars ear and suckled there as his one arm encircled her pulling her body into his and his other hand circled around her soft bottom pulling her skirt up and finding the warmth of her bare skin. his fingers molded the supple flesh cuping and caressing. pulling her into his rising manhood.

Black Hawk

"Shinning Moon, what will you gain in doing this thing for us, my son has taken you from the lands you know the pepole that claim you and care for you how will this help in convincing your father at the soilders fort we mean no war only peace and wish to live as the spirts frist granted to us before the white man took away our hunting grounds and fertile lands?"

Black Hawk listened as his father asked these questions of shining moon hoping that her answer would satisfy him. He kept his gaze lowered so that she would answer from her heart and not just say things that would please him.

As she began to speak he found her words to be from her heart as he had hoped and his father knew that too for he nodded his acceptance of her words. Her voice was strong and full of conviction and sincerety which made Black Hawk proud to know her and he realized that that was one of the reasons he felt the way he did about her. He wanted to call it love but was unsure. He had been taught that until the time of mating a man could not be sure of love. That it was the mating that confirmed his feelings. For now Black Hawk was content to know that he felt something more than frienship for this woman and that he wanted to share these feelings with her.

When shining moon finished speaking his father leaned forward and took both her hands. "The words you have spoken are true and from your heart Shining Moon I am proud to have you with us here I understand that my son wishes to show ou the place where we wish to live as an indain nation. I have been there and it is a beautifull place we need this very much after you return to your people to tell them of our wishes please consider how important it is to me and to my people."

He stood and pulled her to her feet. Black Hawk stood too and as the chief led shining moon towards him he put her hand in Black Hawks. "Go with Black Hawk now he said I am too tired to make the trip today but he can speak for me and my people"

Black Hawk took shining moons hand and led her outside into the sunlight. He felt her trembling and wanted to reasure her by holding her for a moment but felt it not to be the right place or time, instead he smiled down at her and gave her hand a squeeze to signify his pleasure.

Two Moons and little star were waiting with food and water for the trip. it would take one day to get there and after spending the night they would return to the village for another meeting with the chief.

The people of the village gathered around as they left wishing them a safe trip. There was a feeling of happiness in the air as they rode away.

She rode off beside Black hawk all smiled glancing his way as they rode off Little Star and Two moons where smiling and even laughing back and forth between the two. Both Black Hawk and Shinning Moon knew they where more now then just courting. the valley was a full days ride from the camp but Jen didn't care she loved to ride and this chance to be out with Black hawk was incredible .

He showed her the different plants and animals along the trail he told her of many of the traditions of the people the way they moved from a winter camp to a summer camp during the years. She was amazed at all the work the women do in the camp .things she thought the men would have taken care of. However once he explained the reasoning to it and little star chimed in it made sense. Star said .

" it was because they wanted to made sure it was done right was why the women do most of the work in camp."

Two moons swatted her bottom as she rode past him laughing and took off ahead. two moons let out after her with a fake war cri charging after his conquest. Black hawk let out a hearty laugh at the two happy to see his freinds so happy at this time. Black hawk said they would not see them for a while now maybe not till the made camp in the valley.

They stopped at a small stream to water the horses and rest themselfs a short moment. he handed her the water skin and she drank from it , then handed it back to him. his hand grabbed to it while the other reached for hers. he looked to the small slender fingers curling around his own, the difference in color against the two skin tones. Yet it didn't matter to him, or to her. she felt his gaze burning into her's, as he looked down to her setting the water skin aside as it raised upwards slowly to cup her cheek in his hand and lift her chin up to his full gaze.

She let her eyes raise slowly up to his after starring to her hand in his, it had felt right when his father placed her hand in his. Almost like granting his blessing to them both. Black hawk said not a word or did she at this point he cupped her cheek in his large hand and now drew her closer to him, his lips were crisp and cool, hers warm and soft. yet when they came together, it was like a volcanic heat rushing forth burning them both. her eyes did close as she felt him linger in this kiss they did share, not one of wanton desire or shameful lust. A tender moment shared by two as she slowly pulled back after hearing her own breathing lifted upwards into a tiny whimper.

He lifted his chin and nodded that smile brightened as he still looked into her eyes as if reading her emotions though them. she blushed warmly feeling the heat rise up over her cheeks and she to did smile shyly back to him. It was then that he spoke, four simple words but words that had to be said.

Both knew it was time to ride on, so they could get to the vally and they could see what lay ahead for them all. he lifted up with her still hand and hand and helped her to the horse his hand slid from her hand to her thigh with a soft pat then he jumped up on his mount not another word about that kiss was said at that point there was no need and they both road off heading out to the valley and what was ahead for them as well.
