Say it in Rhyme

Monday is back, its here just as planned,
I made it again with no threat of bein' banned,
The thread is still moving along, very well,
I see from the authors our ranks have now swelled!

Writerscum, welcome we're glad you've joined in,
Please tell us your stories of life and of sin,
Dont spare any details nor leave out a thing,
Cuz we're liter'y voyeurs we love what you bring.

Dear Ginger, poor sweetie, your kitten is gone,
But know in your heart that it sure wont be long,
For this life that we live is a moment in time,
Your cats doin great, its us who will pine.

Its never that easy to loose one thats loved,
But you know hes enjoying the view from above,
Chasing the mice and licking up cream,
To him its a pleasure, to us but a dream.

Whoever said that poets are lazy
Should be tested to see if they're crazy.

It takes well-developed mental muscle
To lyrically state one's personal puzzles.

Here on this thread, intellectual aerobics
Blood, sweat and tears that seem like mere antics

We're putting our brains and hearts in these lines
Spontaneously writing, and revising at the same time

Because we want to touch on common realities
While simultaneously drawing in personal fantasies.

So often it seems we clash on topics
And can't agree on the sex and values mix

However, the way I look at all this
The weaving and wondering of our rhymes is

Our way of thinking aloud for each other
Our feelings we disperse even as we gather

The reactions from the rhymers we parry with
While courteously respecting the inner wordsmith.

Not to belabor points already made
So Mia will fan herself now and sit in the shade.

The person who infered that poets are lazy,
Must be deluded, bewildered or crazy,
For waxing peotic is no easy matter,
It's more than just perfecting your patter,
Indeed sometimes seeking deep in ones heart,
Can be quiet exhausting can give one a start,
For many deep secrets are locked inside there,
And it never is easy those secrets to share.
But try I shall ever, to unlock those that I hold,
And I see that my collegues are equally bold,
In sharing with others both known and estranged,
Their thoughts, and striving to poetically arrange,
This jumbled mass that we call a mind,
Into somthing more pleasant to read and to find.
I hope that in my ambling antics I manage
To shed even a glimmer of light and not damage,
The reputationn oft fought for with blood,
Of Poets and Writers for those I do love.

There must be something in the air
Making us feel melancholy, close to despair
I'm wishing for a tryst or two
To help me shake these awful blues

But here I sit in front of the computer
And not drinking beer at the neighboorhood Hooters
I wish a passionate love would appear
And hold me close and call me dear

What can I do to shake this fog
Oh, I know what! I'll pet my dog!

If you were not so far away
maybe there could be a day
a tyrst or two you do seek
maybe I'm shy and too meek
but a lovely tryst I could make
and send those blue into the lake
I'd write you every day
and let you know in some way
call me friend or call me dear
have I made myself clear?
just because you are alone
and the dog needs a bone
you don't have to fret
a new friend you have met!
so write this man
and I will do all I can
to make you feel special and good
as only a lover and friend could
:)

Good morning to all on this dull grey day,
But what can one expect from an English May,
I hope you all had a wonderful night,
And that your dreams were rich with delight,
Mine certainly were tho I shall not digress
Into them now for it would leave a mess
Of this Rhyme I am trying to put into place,
(For into such thoughts I wish not to race),
At least not today for it's not now my want,
To into such secrets to openly jaunt.
And so I'l just wish a good morning to all,
And today I hope we all have a ball.

Had to pop in though I'm so frustrated,
Damn cable server, has me almost castrated,
The cables been down now for nearly two days,
My computer is slow and my heads in a haze,

I pay lots of cash for connections at speed,
Then the bloody thing crashes in my moment of need,
"You'll have to use dial-up" they told me instead,
I've seen quicker speeds from my granny- who's dead!

So bear with me now if I'm slow to the pun,
I swear lack of speed is a pain in the bum,
Its been years since I waited for pages to load,
I'd alomst prefer to watch the grass grow!

But at least I'm logged in to my new fav'rite place,
Though I'ts sure I'll be lagging behind in the pace,
So cross all that you've got -- that they fix me up quick,
Or I'm li'ble to morph to the worlds biggest prick!!

How warming to come in here and see
Charming rhymes from a darling three
There's Generally Bubba, sweet and concerned,
Then de-valmont, reclining, demure and quite learned
And finally, our turtle-like jussforfun, too
Who's beside himself without broadband anew.

Things have been quiet for me as well.
I haven't been online as much, you can tell.
I'm still trying to pick myself up
It's awful to be so down in the cups.
A friend I once trusted has made my life hell
She's harrassing my home life, and well

I see now she's bi-polar and needs counselling
But we're not on good terms and her evil sings
She's spread ugly rumors all over town
I'm taking notes and writing things down
In case this ever escalates to a court case
For libel and gossiping, and loss of face.

Coming to Lit gives me a few minutes' grace
The kindness and support leaves me amazed
So forgive me dear friends if my energy's lacking
It won't be long before I'm 100% back in.
For now, I want to sit near your fire
A quiet mouse, just a little bit tired.

:rose:

Awww Mia my baby, you poor little thing,
When a friend turns against you its almost a sin,
I'll keep my hopes high that it works itself out,
And we'll see you here daily too lessen your doubt.

She must be bi-polar, she's crazy I'll bet,
Runnin round town spreading gossip and threat,
You keep your head clear and try to move on,
Where once was a friend, now she is none.

Keep smilin and playin' and laughing with us,
I swear you'll forget all this crazy girls fuss!
We'll try and remove all the crap that surrounds,
Right here with your mates on the Lit Playground.

For Mia dealing with friends like that
To her I tip my hat
Not many people can deal
or even heal
from wounds such as bi-polar causes
but life is full of these little pauses
Like so many may say
friendship will find a way
Or else you will need
to plant a new seed
or friendship in your life
and get way from the strife
but enough of that said
the topic is near dead
I just dropped in to say hey
on this beautiful day in May
but now i have to be on my way!
hope everyone has a good day
and share love to the world's dismay:)

I'm sorry to hear of your friend who is troubled,
Bi-Polarity is such a horrible muddle,
A wonderful friend of mine she does suffer
From this same disorder and tho I try to cover,
My bases in my dealings with her,
Sometimes her ways will make me suffer.
But I cannot resent symptoms of this malady,
For I know in her heart she feels the same tradegy.
I hope your friend may come to see reason,
And that she may repair this bad season.
And having sought salvation in good councel,
She will in her life begin to excel,
And will find a way to bridge and heal
Those wounds in your friendship that trust and zeal
And if not I just hope that you find a swift way,
To fix all this shit and go and make hay,
While the sun still shines and way a good riddance,
And deny her from any further admittance,
Into your life and your hearts better places.
And depart seperate ways in the best of graces.

I joined lit to have some fun
conversation not under the gun
but as I surf the pages here
I've made friends quite dear
talking to other lost souls
shedding tears by the bowls
with that said said
I'd rather be dead
than to have moments lost
and count the cost
so again I try to fill another's cup
and open myself up
to hear whatever it is you want to tell me
you saddness, your anger, your glee
Thanks for trusting in me!:rose:

To Mia

Mia I'm so sorry you're having a tough time
and your only consolation is to come here and rhyme
If I can be of any assistance
please don't offer me any resistance
I'm a counsellor and may be of some use to you
at least to hold your hand while you're feeling blue
It's good that we manage to find some peace here
and all of our friends offer us laughs and good cheer
But alas all our visits can be ever so brief
And our words although comforting bring little relief.

PM me if you need someone to listen sweetie. X

To each his zone
and into the unknown
we go each day we leave here
and leave our friends so dear
but to each of you I say
sleep well and may tomorrow be a good day

Today

Oh jussfor, dont mention the dreaded broadband
I was netless last night and it wasn't well planned
No warning that I might lose my connection
and at 10.30 no person to hear my objection

This morning I was forced into the dentist's chair
You know I would rather be pulling my own hair
but needs must, so off I did trundle
to part with my earnings by the huge bloody bundle

But it wasn't that bad and I will go again
though the next time I know I'll be dealing with pain
He's taking one out and filling some more
I shall try to be brave and not run for the door

Hidie Ho jussfor fun, thanks for the welcome
it warms my cold buns!
You ask my to tell you of the sins I have or will do
seeking I suspect to find out right quick
just exactly what it is that I do do!

Dear rhyming friends, thanks for support
I'm holding faith that this import
Of personal pain will slowly heal
With time to think, to carefully feel.

I had lunch with a friend with a listening ear
Just seeing her eyes made my heart warm with cheer.
There's nothing like food and good company
To shake off the blues and deep misery.

Writerscum, pardon my lapse
In welcoming you to this thread of kind chaps.
You'll find yourself surrounded with good hearts and kind brains
Intelligent compassion abounds in our poetic refrains.

We choose our words more carefully
To express the thoughts before they flee
Stress and strain are common, we've often said
They seem to push happiness straight out of our heads.

But when speaking in poetic verse
Our thinking gets better, and never worse.
It's like a spa for the intellect here, you see
Rhymes massage our gray matter until we're a-glee.

Before I step away from this set of lines
I send out thankful hugs of the warmest kind
To Ginger, to starkpic, to Belle, and Bubba
and de-valmont, jussforfun, all genuine lovers
And to anyone else that I may have missed
Remember all of you are on my list of lists.

The time has come that I should pick,
An Av for my name,
I have no clue which way to go,
Would someone help me aim!

I'll take suggestions from you all,
I trust you'll be objective,
I've looked them over one an all,
I'm just not real selective.

I hit the hundred posts last week,
I've just procrastinated,
I dont know which would suit me best,
So help; ..... me I've debated!!

There's no need to fear...

When Polly's in trouble I am not slow, it's hip hip hip and away I go....... Underdog

Jussfor I quite like the one you've chosen
At least it'd not naked, though somewhat frozen
I like the idea that you are just sat pondering
of your next rhyme and always wondering
whether you'll ever catch a glimpse of us girls nude
doing things that might be deemed lewd
Yes that's the one with which to stick
and for your first it's a jolly good pick
You look perplexed and a little bemused
and it's that thought alone that keeps me amused

I like that one Jussfor

Waving to my friends one and all
Just dropping by on a social call
The weekend is coming on Friday
(Or what I call "My Day!")
Hello everyone, have a great day
Hope you share the love in some way!
:)

This Thursday's been a busy day
Of errands and appointment along the way.
The taxi drivers are worried about Sars
They take their temps every 24 hours.

The local economy seems slightly up
People are out to lunch and sup
Instead of staying home all week
They are now busy in the streets

Today was also a day of rest
Vesak Day, for the Buddhists the best
Because in India, 2500 years ago
Buddha learned that cravings must go

In order for people to be enlightened
They shouldn't crave things or be frightened
Poverty, he learned, was not to be feared
Even though his family found him weird.

And so today we benefit from
His meditations we try to hum
Whether or not we are Buddhists at heart
We can take from the truth that he imparts.

Taxi drivers, sales clerks, and CEOs
At the core have equal as long as they chose
The path of understanding and having no wants
Then earthly tremors will no longer haunt.

There's so much to learn in Singapore
When talking to people, in banks, in stores
I listen hard to hear through the accents
And imbibe the freely shared local sense.

:rose:

Singapore, Singapore, oh what a place,
The friendliest people you'll see,
The Star line ferries, the Raffles at 8,
Then Newton Circus for Tea.

Who can go past the Singapore Sling,
Or the place where Hemmingway wrote,
The cleanliness, safety and places to go,
For a must see its sure got my vote!

Many a night I spent at the Westin,
Disorderly, drunk with the blokes!
And soon i'll be back for a follow up stay,
Much sooner than later I hopes.....

my brain froze and then a wink
all of a sudden it began to think
of things close by
(letting out a little sigh)
of things far away
people I won't see today
people long gone
times on my front lawn
Things, songs, places
so many faces
(another moment to sigh)
my, oh my how time goes by

Roses are red, violets are blue,
sugar is sweet, and so are you.
But the roses are wilting, the violets are dead,
the sugar bowl's empty and so is your head.

I see your face when I am dreaming
That's why I always wake up screaming!
I thought that I could love no other
Until, that is, I met your mother

Kind, intelligent, loving and hot
This describes everything you are not
What inspired this amorous rhyme?
Two parts vodka, one part lime

Hello Generally Bubba, greetings jussforfun,
The two of you have been mighty poetic
And generous with your tongues.

I wonder where everyone else is these days,
Ginger, and starkpic, Bella and Arwen,
de-valmont, writerscum, the old rakes

They must be a-pubbing or out night clubbing
While thinking of more lyrical things
When liquor hangs them over their heads a-rubbing

They'll mournfully drag in here to say
They rue the drinks, the cheers and clinks
In the painful hindsight of the next day.

I'll post a verse of welcome then here
To let them know their presence is missed
And how we miss the rhymes of friends so dear.

Happy weekend to the warm folks who
Have bonded quickly on this thread
And now for a while, I'll bid us all adieu!
