Was gonna cut down some ash trees for firewood… I need to catch up and I’m down to six cords. But rain got in the way.

So Mrs wonderer and I went to see the new Bruce Springsteen movie. Pretty good. Not a huge Bruce fan, but I like him. And it was a decent movie - cool to see a lot of the schemes at the Asbury park convention center, the stone pony and casino amusements.

Afterwards we went to a local joint that I hadn’t been to in years and had… bar pie. It wasn’t very good, but nice to have a pizza and beer.

Two of the cords are oak that won’t be fully seasoned till next fall. So I am behind and in danger of running out. Luckily dead ash doesn’t need to season much or at all, so I’m gonna focus on getting 3-4 cords of ash done first thru the new year.

I have a bunch of maple and hickory that I need to buck and split, but that’ll be after the ash.

We got the healthcare thing sorted out for Dr. Tyler. We think. There certainly isn't much left there, so any turn-around will be headed towards the order of miraculous. We rate checking out this month much more likely. I do know that we, as a family around here, have managed to tighten up a bit, so that's been a welcome change. I guess. My Inner Sceptic says that it's temporary, but I'll at least leave a forwarding address when I move Out West.


The Executive Director of the facility where she's going is adorable. That makes talking to her way easier. Her heart is in the right place, and I'd like to inspect to see if other bits are properly located as well . . . .

I know my sister and I became closer when mother needed many hospital stays and eventually hospice. We have been close ever since. I hope something similar happens with you and siblings

There has been a bit of distance over the last several decades. It would be nice to set aside all that and move on more like friends, like the people I have seeded my life with who make things better and brighter.
