The Economy

@1984X2024 Posting gibberish twice doesn’t make it any less gibberish.

Mentally disabled MAGA sheep are the weirdest.

Do you have anything coherent to say about why job creation has slowed?

The "job creators" (major employers / big business) fucked around with hiring (they kept jobs numbers stable by hiring excess employees) to get their big beautiful tax cuts & deregulations.

Now that they (big business) have their big beautiful tax cuts & deregulations and have made a devil’s bargain with DonOld & the corrupt MAGAt republicans who control ALL of government, they feel free to “rug” the working class.

That ^ is why the jobs numbers are crashing.

And DonOld & the MAGAt republicans’ lack of oversight in regard to AI, Crypto, etc, is going to accelerate the carnage.

There appears to be a nationwide 4 hour delay in airline flights today as FAA controllers, who did not get paid on the 1st of the month due to President Stroke's government shutdown appear to be unilaterally taking PTO and sick leave, some are taking interim jobs to improve their cash flow.

Government employees won't work for free....who knew? Certainly not President Stroke!

Wait until the new insurance premiums are revealed and the massive spike in unemployment hits home.

The poverty rate and food insecurity is going through the roof.

Trump is doing a bang up creating more problems for him and his cracker jack team to fix. 2026 is going to be a challenge like none other, the biggest in history, yuge!

Sycophantic Treasury Secretary Bessent thinks sectors of the economy are already in a recession.

He better watch his step … the Petulant Man-Baby might fire him for telling the truth!

"I think that we are in good shape, but I think that there are sectors of the economy that are in recession," Bessent said on CNN's "State of the Union" program.

Housing, he said, is effectively in a recession that is hitting low-end consumers the hardest because they have debts, not assets.

But he also pretended that inflation isn’t rising, so the Petulant Man-Baby will like that …

"If we are contracting spending, then I would think inflation would be dropping. If inflation is dropping, then the Fed should be cutting rates," he said.

iF iNfLaTioN iS DroPpInG … except it isn’t. 👍 Also, government spending continues to rise, not lower, and we recently added a trillion to to national debt at the fastest pace ever. Sycophantic Bessent is pathetic.

I watched a podcast on the 30K Amazon layoffs....it's not like "layoff" in the traditional sense.

Amazon has a game plan to double the amount of merchandise sold in the next five years without increasing headcount.
This means at a minimum to not increase staffing at its distribution centers.

Amazon has had tremendous success lowering staff costs 30% in the past five years by retooling their distro centers to handle super high speed robotics. They have a "gulch" at most centers now, humans picking orders on the left and right "berms" of the gulch, with robotic sleds going literally 100mph up and down the length of the center for humans to place orders.

Interestingly, it is an instant termination offense to step into the robotic lane, because the likelihood of getting killed is extremely high. They have specialized humans wearing "kill switch vests" that can jump into lanes in emergencies, they wear these vest because robotic sensors detect them and instantly hit emergency brakes.

Amazon want to try an automate centers to have one of the currently human "berms" to use AI powered specialty robots handle bulk items like cases of bottled water and toilet paper. Less headcount needed.
Newer Amazon distro centers are being designed that are not designed for humans.....specialty robotics with picking abilities to pick smaller items traditionally requiring nimble human hands.

Its a whole new world out there.

Extreme income inequality at work…

Top 10 US billionaires’ collective wealth grew by $698bn in past year – report

The US compares very poorly to other developed nations:

When pitting the US against 38 other higher-income countries in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the US has the highest rate of relative poverty, second-highest rate of child poverty and infant mortality, and the second-lowest life expectancy rate.

40% of Americans are low income:

Meanwhile, over 40% of the US population, including nearly 50% of children, are considered low-income, with family earnings that are less than 200% of the national poverty line.

Lead story on the local news last night was air delays.

Evidently 1 of every 3 TSA agents, Murica's first line of defense against 9/11 repeats, called in sick yesterday.

Delays grew to over 5 hours at security gates. Lines stretching down the corridors and out the door.

The Golden Age of America is here! /s

It'll be interesting to see how long this Trump government shutdown lasts now that it apparently has begun to affect white people (those without access to private jets).

Fewer jobs means lower wages.

Are we great yet? Is this America's golden age? Are we great again, again? How much further do we fall down the sociology and economic ladder before we lose 1st world status? How many more trump inflicted disasters do we need to qualify for 3rd world status?

audit them for what?

Let’s take a look at how their businesses affect society.

It’s unarguable that their business models are difficult for other companies to compete with. What are the effects of their growing market share?

Is their substantial control of the jobs market being used to depress wages and employee benefits? Are their employees able to make ends meet when living near their place of employment? Is their compensation good enough that they don’t put a strain on the safety nets that increase social spending?

Do these companies provide advancement opportunities? Are their work sites near places where families can access other services such as health care facilities or education? Do the businesses use the company town models that tend to keep employees dependent on their topped out positions?

Does it make sense to give tax breaks to companies that increase the load on public services?
