The rain had just ceased and the puddles lay undisturbed all over the ground. In truth this place had not felt the presence of a living being in over a century for beneath the growth of trees and vines lay the ruins of Losthas- a city of unspeakable evil, a place that the mere mention of its name still sent shivers through the most heartiest of men. Suddenly there was a splash as a foot went straight into one of the larger puddles, causing the man to curse and his companions to begin laughing. The man turned to his companions and began to say something but before he could a laugh came out of nowhere, causing the group to look around nervously and drop their hands to their weapons. They all brought out their torches and one by one lit them as the leader of the group ordered them to split up and check out their surroundings.

Without another word spoken the four groups of three walked off in their separate directions, each of them wondering what they were doing here; what they had come to this cursed place for. One of the groups was searching the largest ruined building, searching for anything of importance when a scream ripped through the air causing them all to turn and look in the direction that it had come from. They all drew their weapons and ran in the direction that the scream had come from, hoping they weren't too late but as soon as they saw the carnage in the courtyard they knew that nobody would have survived whatever had attacked the small group.

Each one of the group in the courtyard looked as though they had been torn apart, the parts thrown all over the courtyard with such a force that they had been flattened as soon as they had hit. One of the group looked around the courtyard with wide eyes before falling to the ground and retching. The female member of the group turned and looked at the leader of the small group and opened her mouth to speak but before she could say a word another scream ripped through the air, followed closely by another. The two members of the group looked at each other, their faces ashen and their hands holding their weapons tight.

The leader of the small group rushed over to the one that was kneeling on the ground and pulled him to his feet, shouting at him as he did. The man got to his feet and looked at the leader's face who began pulling him forward- all the while saying that they had to get out of this place. The group began running towards a dark building that had half of its roof caved in but stopped when a scream came from the inside of the building. The three turned to each other and were about to turn around- to get away from the building but before they could a figure appeared in the doorway- his face white and full of fear.

The person moved towards them quickly and as soon as he was close enough everyone in the small group saw the jagged gash that ran down his right shoulder. All three of them heard a noise and saw the man turn quickly, his sword in his good hand before cutting the air in from of him. The leader of the group shouted out to the man to ask what he was attacking but before he could get an answer the man's good arm was ripped off with a loud scream by nothing. The three members of the small group looked at the man in horror as he began to get torn apart, unable to move or speak.

A noise was then heard in front of them as a figure appeared. They person had the look and feel of pure evil to him as he moved closer to the three. He grinned at each of them individually before moving towards the leader of the group and saying with a voice that seemed to come straight out of the grave, "You will do."

The leader said nothing but gripped his sword tighter and moved towards the figure who began laughing at him moments before the leader of the group cut forward with his sword, slicing straight through the figure.

The leader, knowing that this person was going to kill everyone in the small group unless they got away turned to the two remaining members, "Run."
The woman of the group looked at the leader with wide eyes, "You can't be serious. We can't just leave you here to face that thing alone."
"Listen to me for once Krys, get out of here now!"
Krys looked at the leader and knowing that anything she said would be useless turned and grabbed the remaining member of the small group, knowing what would happen to them if they stayed.

After what seemed like hours of running Krys stopped and looked back, then turned to the other member of the small group and told him that they were going back. They man opened his mouth to argue but before he could an inhuman scream ripped through the air, causing the two to shudder and it felt as though it was going straight through their bodies. Krys turned and began running in the direction they had just come from- hoping to find their companion alive.

Before they could reach the area they came across a group of bushes and laying in front of the bushes was their companion. Krys and the remaining member of the group slid their weapons back into their sheaths and rushed over to where their friend laying, checking to see if he was alright. The two of they rolled their leader over and their first reaction was a gasp as along his left side was a ragged gash that looked like a tear. He looked at them and began to say something but before he could his eyes went wide and he looked as though someone or something had cut off his air supply then his face changed back to normal and he looked at the two of them with a smile before he hit Krys with the flat of his hand, sending her flying across the ground and causing their companion to draw his sword.

The leader of the group got to his feet slowly and looked at the conscious group member and grinned before he walked towards the man. He then looked at the man's sword and laughed before he moved forward quicker than the man could follow and grabbed his wrist in a grip with slowly began to crush it. The man screamed out in pain as the leader of the group threw him across the ground but held onto his arm which was ripped away by a wet, sickening, tearing sound. The man gripped the stump of his arm and watched as the leader walked slowly toward him, the man's arm still gripped tightly in one of his hands. The man drew his dagger which caused the leader to laugh again a second before a sword blade appeared in his chest. The leader of the group looked down at the sword then behind him at Krys who was still holding the hilt of the sword in her hands. The leader smiled at her before his arm flew back, his elbow catching Krys on the side of the head which sent her to the ground. The leader turned back to the man and said, "Do not worry, your death will be quick and painless."

The man looked at the leader with wide eyes for the voice that had just come out of him was that of the person who had killed all of his companions. He bagan to move away but before he could the leader of the group jumped throught the air like a cat to land in front of the man. The leader's hand shot out and went around the man's throat, picking him up as if he weighed nothing at all. The man began to struggled but before he could move to get away the leader's hand shot out and slammed into his chest, ripping straight through to his heart which he squeezed then pulled towards him, causing the man to scream out in immeasurable pain. The leader of the group dropped the man to the group before dropping his heard next to him. He then turned to where Krys lay and grabbed her, pulling her to her feet then slapped her across the face, waking her up.

Krys' eyes shot open at the first thing that she did was spit in her former companion's face who calmly ran his hand over his face, wiping it away a second before he slammed the back of his hand across her cheek, rocking her head back.
"That is no way to treat your new master."
Krys began to answer but before she could the man that had been her companion wrapped his hand almost around her head as a dark red nimbus sprang up around it.
"Who do you serve?"
"I serve no one."
The dark red nimbus grew in intensity, causing Krys to scream out in pain before the man asked. "Who do you serve."
"I serve Garath. I will serve him until the end of time."
Then man laughed before dropping Krys to the ground and turned away from her. He looked at the ruins of the city then looked up at the sky before shouting up at it, "I knew you couldn't keep me in here forever. I am free- I am alive again!"

It was a month later and a lone rider sat on top of his horse, looking down at the city of Graliel, the city of his birth. He let out a sigh as the city had not changed, it was still the same place that he had been exiled from just over a year earlier. He had told himself that he would never come back to this place but when he had heard that the person that had raised him was dying he knew that he had to come back. The rider then heard a noise behind him which broke him out of his dream and make him drop his hand to the hilt of his sword. The other rider appeared beside him,
"So this is the city of your birth. Are we going to sit up here or are we going to actually go down there."
"We are going down there. I just wonder what sort of reaction I will get."
The second rider shrugged his shoulders but didn't say a word as they was nothing that he could say. He looked up at the man who sat there, still looking at the city, "Cristian, if you really want to know then we should go down there."
Cristian looked at his companion and with a nod turned and began riding back down the hill. A second later his companion followed, calling out Cristian's name who seemed not to hear it as he continued to ride.

OOC: I was just wondering if anyone would like to join this thread.

OOC: Nice story I am really intrested in it, but I have afew questions before I start

2. how do i get involded in the story at this point.

i really need your advice.

OOC: Okay.... all I can say is welcome aboard.

1) The race is totally up to you..... I need a human prince, my character's companion who is a thief and the main villian.

2) Just start typing at where I left off and just let your imagination run free, hell that's what I do.

That's the only advice that I can give really..... just type whatever comes to your mind, that is part of this thread that is.

OOC: thanks for the invite, ill try to go with the story, here goes nothing.

the city was cold this morning, the prince stirred in his bed, and awoke slowly. " one year ago today" he thought, he often thought of such things in his spare time. he of many things actually, like waht he whould if... no that whould never happen, Christian whould never return, but waht if.. ' think no more of it" the prince thought ' why ruin a perftecly good morning.'

Valdimer Elsworth

Valdimer rode into the city of Graliel. His green dragon scaled armor was dull with trail dust, and a slight cloud lingered behind him. "Finally.....a town. Hopefully it will have a semi decent bar." His horse trampled through the muddy streets, finally coming apon the tavern. Climbing off, he loosely tied his horse to the post, and walked into the establishment.

His long black hair fell down the length of his back, and his hand fell to his side. On his two handed sword. He strolled in, giving off a slight bit of arrogence, and took the nearest table to the wall. Proping his feet on the table, he motioned for a bar maid.

"My dear," he started, " Ale. And some of your roast." The barmaid nodded, and took off toward the kitchen area. Valdimer surveyed the crowd while he waited for his food..........

Far, far away

Rain dropped heavily and thunder roared out ceaselessly. He walked through the mud, covered in gore, fatigued to the bone. "I have to finish this", he continued muttering to himself. He lifted his sword as a roar exploded from the mist. A huge demon charged out, leaping at him and trying to tear him apart with it's bare claws. He dodged just in time and swung his sword heavily, slicing the beast in two. As he walked farther, he noticed that it had become hotter. Far hotter. He took another step and two claws grabbed him by the soldiers and whisked him out of sight. Green light flashed evilly, and he lay in an alleyway. He stood up and surveyed his surroundings. "Graliel", he spoke to himself, feeding on the neatness here. He stood up, and for some reason he was covered in mud and gore and was dripping wet. He felt so tired, it was impossible. He could hardly carry his own sword. He trudged through the streets. He was by far the most unusual sight. In a place where the sun had been known to roast beef just on the streets, he was wetter than if he had been in the middle of the sea. And he had so much blood and innards splattered over his black cloak that he looked as if he had just killed every last demon known to exist. His face was pale, as if he had been through Hell itself. People eyed him with a cautious scrutiny. He stepped into a nearby tavern and sat down in a corner, facing the wall. Green light sparked once, lighting the wall up a bit, then dissapeared. He turned around and motioned for a barmaid. "Give me meat. And ale", he spoke gently.

Blood & Honor

*Silently walks through the down poor of rain his midnight black cloak soaked to the very stich. His swords sway slightly at his sides as the storm gets yet more furious within the direction of his path. His senses become atuned to new scent that trails in the air, the stence is that of foul death and of demonic nature. He slowly looks up the rain pattering down his face, and his emerald eyes shimmer brightly as if he is possessed of an internal power. Up ahead he seas a lone figure standing straight and waiting as if expecting him. He continues to walk down that path and when he is in a distance of fifteen feet he stops and says..."Who are you that is so absently standing in my path?" His senses tell him this is not a human and he goes in a guarding stance. The figure infront of him says.."I am Grahlum Drake, Demon Lord of Oberon, and I have awaited you on this path Azurikel, Lord of the Night." Azurikel looks to him absently, "What business do you have with me demon? I am a being you should fear instead of come in my path so bravely, is it your wish to die?" The demon smiles and moves a little closer, "I am only here to tell you the forces of darkness are surmounting the legion and will inherit this lush world...and yea, you can't stop us." Azurikel laughs and places his hand on the hilt of Soul-Crusher," you would be wise to leave now for I will kill you as you stand." He leaps foward sword out of sheath before the eye can even register it, moving at a speed unseen he leaps past the demon and crouches resheathing the sword and opening his eyes that glow faintly an unholy light. Behind him the figure of the Demon shimmers and it topples over completely cut in twine, its foul green blood splatering all over the dirt path sizzling. Azurikel stands back up straight and continues to walk down the path not even looking back at the dissolving demon.............

Koa sighed as Cristain rode away from him " Oh well " Koa said silently He spurred his horse forward to follow after his companion

...Off to Galendale

...Continues his way down the path then leaps forward shifting his form to that of a black panther and leaps off into the wooded area traveling faster through the trees then he did on the road. He runs at full pace then leaps up the trees, moving from branch to branch at a ever increasing pace, until his form is nothing but a giant mass of blackness, his claws rending trees nearly in two at the force of his passing......

Arrival at the City of Galendale..........

*Continues thrusting through the trees at high speed until he reaches the outskirts of Galendale. Breaks through the forest and shifts from panther back to his human form. Steps back onto the road and summons a wild horse to him, mounting it and striding off in through the titainium gates. He had taken the form of Caladain the Prince of Galendale, to gain access into the city. Striding through town he viers off to the left toward the palace his destination the room of the fair complected princess Anezka, with eyes of emerald and hair of onyx.

.......to be continued....

Cristian continued to ride forward, looking at Graliel and wondering what was going to happen to him as soon as he entered. He suddenly stopped when he saw a field and remembered training in it with his friends. He then heard a curse behind him and glanced back to see Koa looking straight at him.
"Sorry Koa. It is just that this place is bringing back a lot of memories and not all of them good. But we do have to get to the city."

After just under an hour of riding Cristian and Koa were looking up at the main gates to the city, wondering just how they were going to get in. Cristian then noticed the guards standing near the gates checking everyone and thought Do they know that I am back. Is that why they are checking? What is going on here?

He turned to Koa and said, "If you are beginning to think that this is a bad idea then I am inclined to agree with you."

Appearance in the Castle

*Rides farther into the city traveling along the ally ways. Makes it to the turreted Gate guarding the castle courtyard and travels through easily in his disquise. Discards the mount and moves to the left side of the castle losing the form of the Prince and taking up his deitic form. He stops at the side of the gigantic palace and reaches out with his palms flat against the wall then places his feet on the wall as well, beginning to travel up it with his hands and feet as if he where a lizard or some creature able to scale walls. Moves quickly and appears in the window of the fair princess stepping down into her chambers. Moves over to her sleeping form and runs his hand slowly across her eye brows and breaths close against her skin before picking up her enspelled form and moving toward the window yet again. Stops at the balconey and extends a pair of dark wings formed of dark electrical energies expanding them out and leaps off of the window seal taking to the night sky leaving the City and flying in the direction of the Dark Mist Tower.

"I have come and taken what I desire and she will be mine, let them come for her and I shall shred their forms to bloody chunks of rotten flesh for the vermin to feast upon."

Vanishes in the sky......to be continued...

"hmmmmm" Koa scratched his chin thoughtfully....."We didn't ride all this way for you to get cold feet Cristian." He grinned at his companion. " I am sure there is another way in besides the obvious ones. Let us find a more...hmmmm less watched Passage friend"

Cristian looked at the gates and then at Koa and smiled. There was one way into the city that only a few people knew about, himself included. He turned away from the gates and then spurred his horse to the right, trying to remember where the gate was. The two of them rode their horses while Cristian looked for the gate, wondering if he would be able to find it.

Halfway around the wall he found what the gate that he was looking for and rode straight towards it, hoping that nobody was looking. Cristian got down off his horse and placed his hand on a part of the wall that looked like the rest of the wall and with a slight push found that it was still useable. He turned to Koa, "Okay, you wanted a way into the city. We now have one."

The meat and ale were brought and he payed. He dug in, and when he was done, he felt strangely weak. He lifted his head towards the ceiling and a strange green light shone forth once again. He pulled his hood closer about him, and called for the waitress to take his dish and cup. Once that was done, he leaned back.
