Woke Wikipedia Spent $50 MILLION per Year on DEI

Woke Wikipedia Spent $50 MILLION per Year on DEI

Wikipedia allocated over $50 million of its $177 million budget to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, according to its annual budget report.
The news sparked outrage, with increasing calls for donations to the controversial website to cease until it disbands its “woke” policies.
Tesla owner Elon Musk called for significant editorial changes to the website.

Wikipedia has long been accused of prejudice against conservatives and the targeting of political opponents, often labelling anyone to the right of centre as “far-right.”

The website even asserted that President-elect Donald Trump was a “fascist,” before removing the label following widespread criticism.

“Stop donating to Wokepedia until they restore balance to their editing authority,” Musk wrote on X.

Now Wiki's inherent leftist bias will be even less credible.

She also worked for five years as CEO of the Wikimedia Foundation, responsible for the success of Wikipedia, one of the world's most popular digital platforms.

Wikipedia didn’t spend $50 million on DEI. That disinformation has been refuted.

You are laughably gullible. 😄

You also failed to use the lunacy font: inHeRent lEfTisT BiAs!!!!!!!!!

Interesting how Musk touts himself a defender of freedom, but is now trying to cancel and shame people he doesn't agree with just as he accused the left of doing.

I donate to Wiki, maybe Elon will kick me off X now.

In the times before the Interwebs, you could fight about which Encyclopedia was best…. World Book, Britannica or Funk & Wagnells.

Is there anything as good as Wikipedia?

President Musk said it so Reichguide banked it.

Show me the disinformation that refuted it.

This is how good Wiki is. From Wiki:

Wikipedia is a wiki, meaning anyone can edit nearly any[1] page and improve articles immediately. You do not need to register to do this, and anyone who has edited is known as a Wikipedian or editor. Small edits add up, and every editor can be proud to have made Wikipedia better for all. There are two editing interfaces: the new VisualEditor (VE) and classic wikitext editing (wiki markup), which uses the Source Editor.

It's politicized and woke.

People add to it and provide their sources. If you don't like the sources provided, you don't have to.

But I know MAGA doesn't like sources.......just Google it. 👍

There's RationalWiki. It is not intended as a comprehensive encyclopedia, but it is the very first place you should look if you want to know all about anything controversial.

Nothing in that description even suggests Wikipedia is politicized or woke. If anybody can edit it, that includes RWs.

Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia, is a Libertarian, not a leftist.

It occurs to me that Isaac Asimov could not write his Foundation series today. Nobody would buy an "Encyclopedia Foundation" as a pretext for the settlement on Terminus -- because readers would assume Wikipedia still exists, and would have evolved into an Encyclopedia Galactica by that time.

Do you even understand what you post?

Last I checked you can’t cite Wiki for any school papers…or has that changed?
I suppose it would depend on the teacher. Practically all would approve of using Wikipedia as a first step in researching a subject -- then look up and cite the articles the relevant page is based on.
