Pie in the sky ideas are fine, but you can't build a successful national platform only around unfocused dreams of nirvana. You need something concrete. Something the people can get behind. Trump delivers what he promises and the promises are made in plain English.

The con artist has yet to deliver squat. He's gone golfing more times in three years than Obama went in eight, yet he claimed he'd be too busy working to go golfing.

The con artist said he'd deport millions of illegals on day one. Instead, they were working at his failing golf courses.

He said he'd have the debt paid off in eight years. He's now running $1 trillion yearly deficits.

He said he'd build a wall and make Mexico pay for it. Instead, all he's done is stomp his feet and hold his breath until Republicans add billions to the budget to pay for building nothing.

Said he'd develop a commission on radical Islam on day one. Instead, he's defunded a program which worked to halt people going into white supremacist groups.

After all his whining, he said he'd appoint a special prosecutor to go after Hillary. Instead, he's still under investigation for his own crimes as outlined by a special prosecutor.

So I dug up some speeches by past presidents on YouTube and for the most part they talked at the crowd, lectured as it were. Obama and both the Bush's were horrible at that as was Nixon and LBJ. Kennedy wasn't too bad at it. And it's kind of a toss up between Clinton and Reagan as to who comes in second.

And I think it's that connection that Trump is making that the democrats are missing and why they haven't been able to make a dent in his base. None of the democrat candidates have exhibited that knack either.

The Donald has the ability to tell a lie, tell another that conflicts with that lie a minute later and those who follow him will swallow it whole without blinking. The Donald is everything we shouldn't have. Trumpites on the right get all spun up when he's compared to Hitler, but there are remarkable similarities. One of those is that both were/are capable of enticing a crowd to a rabid state with empty rhetoric and poisonous insulting pretentiousness.

His rallies are kind of enthralling and mesmerizing, which is fascinating in a way.
