Whispers and Promises (restarted)

Kyra read the tome until late in the evening, learning as much about Rath's family as she possibly could. She memorized the names of the late kings and queens, the people that had been in line that never got their chance to take the throne that was rightfully theirs. She read about Rath's brother, her heart going out to the man that she loved at the loss that had been so great.

As the night wore on, Kyra fell asleep with the book still open, her candle burning out as she finally got the sleep that she so sorely needed.

Morning came. The prince was awoken as usual for his morning report. He was pleased to hear that the awful visitors had left at the break of dawn. They would be out of the city before long. He asked Darius to send a message to Lady Kyra telling her that she could return to the palace as their guests had left "unexpectedly." He also included in the letter that she meet him in his chambers.

At breakfast, he spoke with his father about the irrigation ditches proposed by the wizards, but his mind was really on being reunited with his beloved. Seeing her alone and scared yesterday had torn at his heart and he longed to hold her in his arms and see her smiling again.

The moment that Kyra had received Rath's letter, she was on cloud nine. She woke Amina, gathering her guard, and moved to speak to Khalid.

"Thank you for allowing me to read this last night. Perhaps you could send it to the palace sometime soon so I can finish." She said softly. "And thank you for your hospitality. Would you please tell Shar that I will return soon to check on him?"

Khalid smiled as he took the book back. "Of course. But not too soon. He is a fine student but also a young man still and having a pretty girl around so often may interfere with his progress."

Rath meanwhile prepared for Kyra's arrival in his chambers. He had a hot bath drawn, her birds were singing merrily, and a try of fresh fruit and goat's milk were set up for her. He could barely contain his excitement as he changed into a pair of baggy trousers and an open vest that showed the definition of his strong frame.

"Of course." Kyra said, bowing in respect to the wizard as she finally led her group from the library.

She wanted to see Rath after so many days apart. It had seemed like an eternity and she was sure that he was waiting on her. She practically ran to the palace, the only thing holding her back being Amina and the guards.

When she arrived back at the palace, Kyra was greeted by the guards and told that the prince was waiting for her in his chambers. Amina made a quick excuse that she needed to speak with the other servants about... something. Though the direction she headed in was obviously that of the royal library. As Kyra walked through the halls, all of the servants seemed to be in a particularly good mood and they greeted her with smiles and polite bows.

Kyra greeted everyone that stopped her on the way to the prince's chambers. It took forever until she opened the door and stepped inside, closing it firmly behind her. The kyra birds chirped merrily in the bright sunlight and the room had been cleaned and prepared just for her. Then she set eyes on Rath and she smiled at him, running across the room and into his arms.

"I missed you, my sweet prince." She murmured before her lips were pressing against his own, a whimper of need leaving her throat.

Rath enveloped her in his arms. He had no chance to respond before she kissed him, which he happily returned. When the kiss finally broke, he whispered to her, "Come with me." They undressed and slid into the bath together. He gently washed her skin as if washing away the troubles of the last two days. He told her about how their guests came to be expelled from the kingdom, the moment where he and his father saw eye-to-eye for the first time in a long time and how his father had agreed to meet the wizards regarding their proposals for the farms.

"Amazing, isn't it? In two days we went from being afraid to... this. I still don't like how they kept inquiring about you, but our spymaster will have his eyes and ears all over the court at Dath. They won't find out who you are until they're already locked in a dungeon for their crimes."

Kyra relaxed as Rath smoothed the water over her skin, taking care of her as he told her the story of their visitors and how his father had agreed with him for the first time in ages. She smiled at him as he continued to muse on the fact that things had changed so suddenly.

"You know, what happened in Dath isn't their fault. Their father is the one who took over the throne. I don't think they should have to pay for his mistakes." She said softly, looking at Rath as she leaned in and wrapped her arms around his chest.

"Perhaps," Rath muttered. It was clear that last night's incident still rankled. "When the time comes, we will find what their involvement in the conspiracy was, if any." He kissed her again and the smile returned to his face. "Though you should have seen the looks on their faces last night. That horrid woman Shula looked as if she'd been struck by a thunderbolt when my father revoked our hospitality to them." He did his best to impersonate the expression he described but laughed when he realized he couldn't do it justice.

Kyra laughed softly as he recounted what happened last night. She could only imagine the dire king telling his guests to leave. He didn't seem like that kind of man, but he was proving her wrong.

"And his hospitality to me? When will that begin to change?" Kyra asked softly, wondering if his father would ever be kind to her.

Her question caused the smile to fade from his face. "I don't know," he admitted. It was painful to admit but he was beginning to wonder if his father would ever approve. Would he have to go to his grave never knowing the secret? Never knowing that his son had already chosen a queen. It was a difficult thought that he may never make peace with his father before the end and that he would die believing that he had failed his house. "I wish it were possible for us to tell him the truth. But even if he believed us, I don't know what he'd do. He's... not the man who raised me anymore."

"I didn't mean to ruin our moment." Kyra said softly as she leaned in and kissed Rath once more, wishing to make that smile appear again. "Forget I said anything. This moment is just for us, my sweet prince. No one else is going to intrude."

Rath was quiet a moment, but the smile slowly started to return to his face. "I seem to recall I made you a promise the other day. Though I'm having a bit of trouble remembering what it was." His arms held her a little tighter as his cock began to stiffen. "Now what could it have been?" He began kissing her neck as one hand caressed her thigh while the other sought out her breast.

"It seems as if my memory is as short as yours, Rath." Kyra teased, gasping as his large palm settled over her breast. "Perhaps you could remind me."

She looked up into his gaze and he saw a wealth of heat and passion. She loved this man and she so desperately wanted to be his forever.

Rath felt lost in her eyes. He saw the same passion and devotion that warmed his chest when he thought of her. "Perhaps we'll have to jog our memories." He kissed her passionately as his hands explored her body. He never tired of the feel of her skin, the heat of her body, the sounds of her voice. He could only wonder how fate had conspired to bring them together. This was a story that happened only once in a lifetime. "My princess..."

Kyra whimpered as his lips suddenly captured her own, his hands exploring over her body as they kissed in the heated water of the bath. She was head over heels in love with this man. She smiled sweetly as he called her his princess.

"Marry me, Rath." She murmured against his lips, her eyes looking deep into his own.

"I will," he promised. "Imagine it now." His hand went between her legs and began rubbing her lower lips. "A great fanfare in the morning. The two of us in the palace gardens. You'll be wearing the most beautiful dress. We'll have a few of your birds singing. Every guest will look upon you as the princess, soon to be the queen, who escaped from death to find her way to Rhagal. They will see a woman who made her love the man he was meant to be. A woman whose beauty is surpassed only by the warmth of her heart and the brilliance of her mind. I love you."

Kyra sighed softly as his fingers rubbed between her thighs, her legs trembling as he told her about the vision that he had for the future. She could imagine them in the garden, among the green plants with her birds singing merrily. The sun would be bright, her groom handsome. She would wear her lavender gown and her mother's tiara and she would gladly marry the man that she loved.

"And I love you." She said in a husky voice that was full of desire. "Make love to me under the stars."

Rath lifted her by the hips and turned her body so that she was now straddling him face to face. He guided her onto his shaft and pushed her down onto it slowly. He kissed her when she reached the limit. The sun was only beginning to set, but the ceiling above them showed the inevitable constellations to come. Neither one of them were patient enough at this point to wait for the sun to finish.

Kyra shivered as he lifted her by the hips, helping her to turn so that they could be face to face. She leaned forward, kissing him as she slowly sank down onto his shaft. It was a wonderful sensation to be stretched and loved by this handsome man. As she reached her limit, she let out a heated moan and shivered.

"My lover. My prince." Kyra pressed kisses along his jaw and throat, nipping at his ear as she started to flex her hips in a gentle rhythm. "My husband."

Rath rolled his hips to match her movements. His hands held fast to her hips, guiding her. "Some day we will make it happen." Even in the short time they had been separated it was enough to drive him mad. He had missed the warmth of her body in his bed. The sound of her voice saying his name. She trusted him with her heart and her future and that knowledge filled him with a sense of purpose and strength.

A long whimper left Kyra's lips as Rath rolled his hips to meet her own thrusts. She kissed him, falling deeper in love as they joined one another under the stars of the royal bath. Her fingers twined with his own, holding him so tightly as she picked up the pace. She wanted to cum. Even though it had been a few short days, it felt like an eternity since she had last been with her lover.

Their bodies fell into an intense rhythm with one another. The resistance of the water slowed them, but the force of each thrust was the same. He loved this woman more than he thought possible. He had truly found the one in his dreams. His lover, his bride, his queen. His head was spinning from the sensations but he didn't want to stop. He soon felt a build-up in his loins and knew it wouldn't be much longer. He bucked his hips hard repeatedly to meet her as she sank down on his cock, stirring and splashing the water around them. His head dropped back and with a loud groan of pleasure he came hard, filling her body.

Kyra felt a secret kind of thrill at the sound of his cry of pleasure. She moaned as she let it wash over her, a gasp leaving her lips as she felt him filling her body with his hot seed. She came for him then, her body pulsing and gripping at his own as the water thrashed around them. Kyra pressed her forehead against his own, her eyes looking deeply into his as she kissed him with all the want and need that she had been feeling since they had been parted.

"I love you, Rath." She murmured softly, a smile tipping the corners of her lips as she showed him the joy that she felt whenever she was around him.
