I have tried very hard, but I cannot connect with Noah Kahan. I have several friends who love his work, musically and lyrically, so I have tried, but it doesn't sing to me. One of them said it was because I wasn't a New Englander.
For clarification, I don’t think one needs to be a New Englander to connect with/relate to his music. @vagrantx loved it and she’s from a whole different continent!
Just want to throw that out there so he doesn’t get written off 😂

Oh, absolutely -- Noah is popular everywhere. That was just a suggestion from one person on why I didn't get it.

Part of the joy of this thread is you get to try everything to see what you like. Write nothing off.

She has the most beautiful voice and her lyrics kill me. I adore her. @SalaciousMonkey22 is the one who shared her with me and I've become obsessed... Another reason I love him.

I'm happy to be one of you! Haha!!
I can’t take credit for Monkey’s intro to her because he heard her on NPR, but I’ve posted her here a handful of times this year and every time I think I get one more person hooked. Spreading the Chappell gospel ✨

I actually quote myself all the time because I think I'm so clever. I wanna make sure everyone else knows it, too.

Well said.

Oh, I get it. Sometimes my thoughts are so clever I feel like I need to quote them. But of course I would never want anyone to think I'm arrogant. But now that there's precedence...

Brilliantly stated, as well. Couldn’t have said it better myself.

Holland 1945 - Neutral Milk Hotel

...the world just screams and falls apart
In case you don't know... it's about Anne Frank... the whole album is haunted by her ghost, she weaves through the lyrics of In The Aeroplane Over The sea until she is in your head too. One of my favourite albums ever and this is just one of those songs that I will never tire of hearing
