Day 28: A song with great vocals

The Swedish metal band Amaranthe likes to mix things up. They mix styles, and genres, but plenty of bands do that. What sets them apart is the vocals. Rather than one lead singer, they have three. First is Elize Ryd, who has a beautiful, pure soprano. The second singer is Joacim Lundberg, who performs as "Jake E". He has a compelling voice, with a nice, clear tone, so much so that they describe is position in the band as "Clean Vocals." Which leads us to Andy Solveström, who sings in a more grindcore, rough style. It shouldn't work with the other two, but it really kind of does, and sets them apart from most other power/symphonic/"pop" metal bands.

I like to use this song to introduce metal to people who say they hate metal. "Amaranthe," in this case, means "unfading or ageless" and it is also the theme to the song.

"Amaranthine," Amaranthe.

Hehehe great choice! Have had the pleasure of drinking with them quite a few times, Elise's pub of choice was the Anchor in stockholm whenever they were around. Oldschool hard rock pub, great place!

Day 28- Songs with great vocals.
To use an overused phrase but in this case is spot on. Eva Cassidy could sing the phone book and have us all enthralled. Fields of Gold is one of her best.
Oh! I love this song. Never heard this cover before. 🥰

Sam Smith - No God
I almost chose a Sam Smith song. Their voice always hooks me.

Be it iron or copper, steel or bronze, not all metal is forged the same.
In the middle of a molten sea there sits a tower, a shining beacon lighting the way for others to follow.

Blind Guardian sounds like nothing else. Hansi Kursch has a voice like no other, it's nasally and strange and otherworldly and it fits perfectly with the music they perform. A rare form of metal. An alloy forged in high fantasy.

Day 28: A song with great vocals

This song title "Я о́чень рад, ведь я, наконе́ц, возвраща́юсь домо́й" translates to "I'm happy Because I'm Returning Home" is kind of like the National Anthem of the early Internet. Eduard Khil (Эдуард Хиль) is a fantastic baritone and this song is a vocal masterpiece 😁

I'm gonna just call it the Trololol Song though.

Trololol Song - Эдуард Хиль

Best one-hit wonder by a werewolf and Dr. Pepper crooner...

"I've got the chance, I'm takin' it
No more, no more, fakin' it
This time in life, I'm makin' it"

"Makin' it?" ...Sure... fuck it, why not?!

Day 29: A song you genuinely believe is a good one hit wonder
The 80's were packed with hair metal and synth pop and there were bands popping up left and right and dying out just as quick. I wasn't sure if this was actually a one-hit-wonder, so I had to check their catalogue and sure enough, nothing ever came close to this banger.

And his dance moves. Oh my god the dance moves. And the hair. And his voice. That "I don't give a fuck about this music but I'm going to give it my all anyway" attitude. And for once, check out the comments on the video! Absolute hilarity.

Also I think they have the greatest name in the world.
