Day 9: A song that you can’t help but dance to

Just try and keep me still when this song is playing.

I blast it in the living room when I need to get it clean. I dance my way around until everything is back in its place (which with toddlers is no small feat!!)

Thunder Rumbles - Cat Empire
I don't think I have ever properly thanked you for introducing me to Cat Empire. Love them.

Day 10: A song that you can sing really well

I'm no Tommy Shaw, that's for sure, but I do love me some Styx!
The recording cut off for some reason, but I managed to hit the high note so fuck it, it's good enough 😂

Styx - Renegade

Outstanding! Brava!

When I was in junior high, we had a jukebox in the cafeteria, which I thought was the coolest thing. (Being a junior high, it was completely encased in steel bars and chain link. Junior highers/middle schoolers are the worst.) "Renegade" was one of the songs I remember blasting out of there regularly, and I flash back to that whenever I hear it. I also had the 45, and we slowed it down to verify that yes, they were yelling "damn!" between Tommy's opening and the rest of the song.

Oh, and thanks for setting the fucking bar first thing...

Mwehehe! Thank you thank you! Was split between this and something with Dennis on vocals but his songs are hard!

A jukebox in the cafeteria... Some times I forget that there's a generation between us. That's so cool. Who got all the coins?? And that's one thing I had no idea about; I always thought it was "yeah!", but keeping "damn" in my head and listening to it again I can totally hear that

I have no idea where the coins went, and up until now I had never even thought of it. Which is odd, as that is exactly what I would usually ask, heh.

Yeah, finding "cus words" on radio songs was a big thrill when you were 12 back then...

Day 10: A song that you can sing really well

I think I've sung this song about a hundred times?

Keep On the Sunny Side - The Carter Family

Quality ain't that great. (I can sound country when I want to. 😆)

I love your twang girl ☺️

Day 10: A song that you can sing really well

"A song that you can sing," I have no problem with. "Really well?" That's the rub. I cannot do this song justice the way Prince sings it --I don't think anyone can-- so I went in a little different direction. And it still isn't close to "really well," but I wasn't feeling up to singing Motörhead this early in the morning, which is more my vocal range.

Day 10: A song that you can sing really well
Umm... who says I can sing?
I'm going to have to go with The Doxology (or "The Old 100th), simply because I sing it a lot (every Sunday in church) and it's got a range of a single octave, which is just barely manageable for me.
This version has some very nice 4-part harmonies. In my church we get some very dissonant 13-17 part harmonies (none of us know how to sing on-key).
"The Doxology" - Tune by Louis Bourgeois (1551), Lyrics by Thomas Ken (1674).

Love this song so much! 💜

Day 10: A song that you can sing really well

Oh, yes, of course...I can definitely sing at least one song well, many songs even. Ummm...yeah, that's me, perfect pitch. Apologies to @lavendersilk because it's such a shame that my phone is on the fritz or I'd definitely post a vocaroo 😔 And to distract from those blatant lies by a lucky coincidence, the music video for a song I know all the lyrics to has Charlize Theron kicking ass so that's the obvious choice.

Crossfire - Brandon Flowers

Even though I've never fallen for Prince's music, his skill was undeniable. Both on guitar and on mic... But you did great  thank you for joining in on the voca train! love it!
