Day 12: A song that is the only song you know by that artist

Walked into a London pub in the late 80s and this band was singing this song... a year or two later and this version appeared in a John Hughes film. A great song challenge for today and a good reason to further explore their music!

I haven’t had a chance to look into her more but I might go down that rabbit hole tonight!

I’m excited for you

This gem came across my playlist recently after downloading another song. Her voice just pulled me in and I had to add it
Turpentine - Brandi Carlile
Belinda is outstanding. She is also part of a supergroup called The Highwaywomen, all of which are fantastic. You can branch out from there into a lot of creative, intelligent, well made music.

Crazy they have a super deep discography, 10-12 albbums,
of songs that sound nothing like this. Mostly protest and anarchist punk, but some are straight folk and pop. I know a lot if their fans despise this song and view it as a major sellout. It happens.
And the band's response on selling out was "whatever." Then they fucked around with EMI, who wanted another hit that they had no intention of making. I kind of love them.

I have tons for this one! I love listening to new playlists and if I find a song that I love, I’ll toss it on my big playlist. Sometimes I go back and explore more and sometimes I don’t, or just haven’t yet. This one made it to my playlist a couple months ago.
I’ve been meaning to check out if she has other stuff and I think now is the time!

Oh, won't you kiss me on the mouth and love me like a sailor?
And when you get a taste, can you tell me what's my flavor?
