Day 8: A song that is part 1 or 2

We went on a long camping trip when I was about 12. I had no interest in the outdoors, still don't, but what I did love was music. For my birthday I'd received my first mp3 player, a little 128mb one, space for like 8-13 songs depending on how frugal I was with quality...

I burned through so many batteries that summer while stuck sulking in the tent, and thought I was so cool when turning the volume up to max until mom smacked me and said I'd damage my ears like that (and, truly, thanks for slapping some sense into me).... Still know every song by heart though!

Stratovarius - I walk to my own song (Elements, part 2)

Day 8: A song that is a Pt1 or Pt2

My mom passed away yesterday afternoon. The last 1.5 days were very difficult and trying for her. Now she is in a much better place and in no pain.

She was 95 and born in rural Indiana in a very conservative home.

Altho I would have played James Browns Payback pts 1/2, my mom was a (sort of) religious woman. So this feels much more fitting. Justin Hinds did many ska, rocksteady and reggae interpretations of many spirituals.

Justin Hinds and The Dominoes - Mighty Redeemer Pt1. (1971). Love this old scratchy version from a record.
So sorry for your loss, Wonderer. I’m glad she’s no longer in pain and I hope you can find some comfort in music.
May her memory be a blessing πŸ«‚

Day 9: A song for cardio

A few moments too late… just did 30
minutes of spinning bike and then 30 minutes of rowing.

Back when I could do more high impact aerobics, I used to run a shit ton. I remember running on a rural railroad trail, hearing this and I just got into a great runners groove. Nothing hurt, I was cruising along at a good clip and was just totally dialed into the zone.

No I was not high. πŸ˜‚ maybe a runners high.

Blur - She’s So High (very different when you listen w earbuds or headphones.)
