Day 8: A song that is a Pt1 or Pt2

My mom passed away yesterday afternoon. The last 1.5 days were very difficult and trying for her. Now she is in a much better place and in no pain.

She was 95 and born in rural Indiana in a very conservative home.

Altho I would have played James Browns Payback pts 1/2, my mom was a (sort of) religious woman. So this feels much more fitting. Justin Hinds did many ska, rocksteady and reggae interpretations of many spirituals.

Justin Hinds and The Dominoes - Mighty Redeemer Pt1. (1971). Love this old scratchy version from a record.
Sorry to hear that, a great music choice. Take care.

Day 8 A Song that is a Pt 1 or Pt 2

Made for Each Other (MFEO) pt 1 - Made for Each Other pt 2 - You Can Breathe

You barely notice on the record that it's 2 different songs because of the way the thing flows together. But when the piano transition happens around 2:23, you can feel the tonal change. There's something very beautiful about these two songs and the way they fit together.

Thank you for sharing this. I echo what others before me have already said. Although recent times have obviously been painful, it sounds as though you have lots of lovely and loving memories.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Sending you peace and healing 🀍
There aren't words that fit except thank you for sharing. I hope you peace.

Thank all of you guys for your kind words, thoughts, messages, condolences and virtual hugs.

Appreciate it. My moms lived a super long and full life.

(I think I missed a few, but multi quote gets wonky on my cell phone) thanks all!

Day 8: A song that is part 1 or 2

We went on a long camping trip when I was about 12. I had no interest in the outdoors, still don't, but what I did love was music. For my birthday I'd received my first mp3 player, a little 128mb one, space for like 8-13 songs depending on how frugal I was with quality...

I burned through so many batteries that summer while stuck sulking in the tent, and thought I was so cool when turning the volume up to max until mom smacked me and said I'd damage my ears like that (and, truly, thanks for slapping some sense into me).... Still know every song by heart though!

Stratovarius - I walk to my own song (Elements, part 2)

So sorry for your loss, Wonderer. I’m glad she’s no longer in pain and I hope you can find some comfort in music.
May her memory be a blessing πŸ«‚

Day 9: A song for cardio
I may have posted day 10 for a little bit here. I have no idea what day it is. If you ask me I will have to check my phone. Even if I just looked.
That said. I can't think of any better songs for cardio >.>

Day 9: A song for cardio
I used to walk to this song, the 3d audio effect in my headphones combined with the slower then faster pace worked well for me
Hellbent- Mystery Skulls

Can't have lyrics when doing cardio! Just gotta get into the groove. What's better then than synthwave??

He is unrecognizable. I wouldn't have known it was him without you saying. Really good video. I forget to watch music videos.
