Day 14: A song from a North American Artist

I'm currently hopped up on pain meds, well actually I feel smashed down, so I don't remember what I was going to say about this but I think it's by a band called Lumaltok although it doesn't appear that INALI credited some of the artists appearing on this collection of songs in various indigenous languages of Mexico so I can't be dead sure.

The word "tzotzil" means bat people in the Tzotzil (sometimes Tsotsil) language, I'm not saying I wouldn't have chosen this particular song anyway but once I found that out, I couldn't have picked another 🧛🏻‍♀️

I’m going with the OG North Americans today

Electric Pow Wow Drum - Halluci Nation (formerly A Tribe Called Red)

I love Halluci Nation! Their story is so cool. I have used them for prompts a few times here. And many a day I've had this blasting out my car windows.

Day 15: A song from a European artist
Okay, so I listen to a lot of small artists that create unique dance music. I am always looking for something new that makes me want to move (not that I am coordinated).

Shallowprayer is a dj from Athens, Greece that only has one song out right now. It actually doesn't even exist on YouTube, so I am posting the SoundCloud link and a video someone made of a screen recording of the SoundCloud. o_O

If you grew up with sesame street you will recognize the song but likely do not know the strife and tragedy surrounding the lead singer. I found a brilliant expose I'd like to share.
Written by an Italian composer, Piero Umiliani, this song brings a smile to all but the most cynical.

Do do do do my Mahna Mahna and the Snowths

Bettie Serveert - Tomboy
Netherlands' finest, they should have been bigger... wonderful live. They still are active, just not as much. The name... it' a tennis thing.
Gosh - there’s a band I hadn’t thought about or heard since the 90s I don’t think. Thanks for for this!!

Damn, I was gonna play a song by the mops. I knew they were not an English freakbeat band. I thought they were from somewhere in Europe - (they were Japanese!?!?)

So over the The Boots from the European nuggets compilations. Very yardbirds sounding. Das boots aus Deutschland!

day 15 - Song from a European artist
Adriano Celantano - prisencolinensinainciusol

A song written in gibberish but to sound what American English sounds like to someone who doesn’t speak it. The original video seems to have been scrubbed from YouTube but the glorious insanity kicks in about 2:12 here. The early 70’s were a magical time.
